I am by no means a pro, but I'm just going to do what I do normally. I've gone to a makeup counter a few times to have them show me some new things to do & if I like it, I buy the stuff they used. I'm thinking about giving that a try again for a more bridal look. Last time I went, they put purple eyeshadow on me. I never would've tried that myself, but now it's my standard eye color. I didn't venture outside of browns before that. Maybe I should do that. I am not against wearing make-up, I just have NO skill at putting it on. Friends have tried to help me out, but I can never replicate it. That's a good idea though, going to a makeup counter...
  2. Good question! I wear only chapstick and mascara (sometimes), so I am worried about that too. With DW, there really isn't a chance for a trial run! Well, I guess you could if you get there early enough before the wedding. Humpf.

I like to do things myself, but am usually more impressed with others projects...
  4. Here's another - BEACH WEDDING COLLECTION, Beach Weddings, Seashell Bridal Bouquets & Pillows, Bridal Shower Favors
  5. Not sure that I found anything here that I love, but figured I would pass along. I kinda like the starfish cake-topper, but I guess I'd need to pick a cake first! Beach Wedding cake topper Starfish Cake Toppers Seashell accessories island destination theme accessory garter guestbook ring pillow I was actually searching for a beach scrap/guestbook...
  6. But wait, if we unsubscribe, we won't get the messages in our userCP area, right? Cuz I still want to see them there, I just don't want the email...
  7. I was actually going to inquire about this... I changed mine to no emails a week or so ago, but I still get some. Not all, but some. Is there something I am doing wrong?
  8. I think that is the most frustrating part. I doubt my decision everyday, and I only took a little while to make up my mind. I wish I had debated options more, but I am impatient as well, so just wanted to get it over with. I didn't really have trouble hearing back from people, but then again, you are dealing with Hawaii and they say that everything is ssslllllooooowwwwwwwww and relaxed in Hawaii. They may not feel like they are taking a long time. Good luck!
  9. I LOVE everything! I am totally copying your pics elsewhere to show my fiance. I like the sand shadow box idea, never thought of it! Congrats and great job!

Just realized it might look like I was giving the pics the thumbs down, but what I meant is I can't get in to view them....
  11. That's funny that you say that, I had never thought of it, but someone else is doing theirs there in September. Wll good luck wwith whatever you decide! I am kinda in love with having it outside, so I emailed that rental place on 202 and hope to hear back from them shortly. Then I would just need to find a caterer that is good and reasonable. But that's the next step! I just looked up the Joseph Ambler Inn and I think I would need to rent out every room to fit everyone! The farmhouse says "small intimate gatherings"; Main dining fits 100; Banquet room fits up to 150; John Roberts House fits 40. It looks nice though!
  12. Omg, that would be funny. People would be so confused. Heidi - what are you doing for yours? I only ask b/c I was unable to find anything that I really liked, cuz I hate banquet style (like white table linens and padded seats). I love a more relaxed atmosphere. We originally were going to have the reception at Lai Lai in Blue Bell, cuz the price was right (at $55/pp including drinks!). But they can fit 220 or 250 and the reception area isn't as nice as the dining area. So now we are exploring other options, but it's driving me crazy.
  13. I know, I would much prefer a small party (hence the fact we choose an DW!), but my FFIL is one of 11 siblings, my dad is one of 7 and my mom is one of 6, his mom just has 2 sisters, but they all have a few kids (our ages) as well. We both have pretty large groups of friends that we managed to stay in touch with, so it's hard to cut it down. Also, since my FFIL is from Italy, and has family is Australia and New Zealand, it appears that extended family likes to attend functions as well, when they can.

I just opened it up to check out when I have a few minutes sometime today. Unfortunately for my work, I have been spending TOO Much time on here daily! I am going to make an effort to only come on at lunch and in the morning. Yeah, we'll see how well that works.

  16. Yeah, that is what the placed that I have been to have told me 6-8 months. I will be ordering mine in a month or two. I am still trying to talk myself out of the expensive one....
  17. I think it isn't necessary with that set-up. That's pretty cool and breezy looking!
  18. I am using blue, orange and fuschia. I think with blue you can use almost any color you want as long as it's the right tone or shade.
  19. Cool, I am def bookmarking these sites. I think we'd go for the bigger ones since we are having so many people, but we'll see how that all works out. I am just glad to not have the tiny gross ones. I emailed for an estimate...!
  20. I agree with Kash, cuz it is "the dress" that your mom would want to participate with. Now, I luckily found my dream dress in the first store I looked at, but I know it isn't always that way. I would go out a few times before she comes.
  21. OMG, that is funny. Tricking them into cooperating. I want to start on this soon, I think it is the thing I am most excited about doing for my wedding.
  22. Hmmm, I was going to say that you should start now and still go then. Even if you've found "the one" by then, your mom will get a chance to see it before you buy it. I thought you had to order pretty far in advance, but it looks like I am in the minority there... Shelley - on another note, how is your dress shopping going
