I bought my dress today (ebay)!
boscobel replied to boscobel's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
The seller just emailed me back that I should have it by Saturday! Wahoooo! -
Ok, so I bought a dress today that I found on ebay for like $300. I had already narrowed my search down to two dresses and this seemed to combine things that I liked about both of them into one dress! The seller had good feedback and accepts full returns (within 7 days), so I am excited to receive it! If it looks good, I will def post a pic of me in it as soon as I receive it! Here are the pics of my original dresses (hope these pics work...): Lazaro Anjolique (Sorry the pic is fuzzy - it is no longer on the website and I could only copy from an Excel file I had and paste in paint) I would wear it without that sheer piece on the chest though. And dress I bought today! Wow, sorry the pics are so huge, I can never figure that out!

No, I am def not picking something for him (unless he fails to get something by the time the wedding iis here!). But I had to change my "whatever you want to wear" and add "with my approval". Only b/c he thinks that you shouldn't have to wear a shirt if you are on the beach - wedding or not. So, needless to say, I changed my mind real quick and let him know that he can pick out anything he wants within reason. Can't be too careful! I think that is the best engagement I ever heard! How sneaky of him to get it all caught in pics! Guys should take note of that awesome idea. I had tears in my eyes. If any guy ever asks for engagement advice, I am totally telling your story. Although I am glad that Matt didn't do that. I was sitting on the floor in my pj's eating chinese food when he asked me! Hahhaahahaa, ring drama over a few months lead to an unplanned proposal.

I am getting married in May at 5:30 (I think, how bad is it that I don't remember?!) It is the twilight ceremony which cost extra, but that is what I wanted. I hope it works out alright. Then, depending on the # of peeps that book, we will have a cocktial or reception right after. Then on to PAR-TAY!

OOT bag info
boscobel replied to TammyWright's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
That chap stick is a great deal. Have you bought from them before? My sis and I were going to make lip balm for my OOT bags, but for that price, it might be worth just buying them... -
Reception party back home?
boscobel replied to TOESNTHESND's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We are def having one, I think about 2 weeks after we return from Jamaica. I wanted to have one introduction/celebration for the entire family. Most of my family isn't coming to Jamaica and almost none of my friends are (all have small children). I didn't want to be at a family or friend party and people keep saying, oh yeah, congrats, how's married life? I wanted to kind of get that bit out of the way all at once. Sounds weird, but it totally makes sense in my head! We are probably having the party at my fiance's parents house in the backyard under tents with almost 300 people. Kind of a more formal type of bbq. I def do not want formal, but I want it to be a nice party. -

Need Shopping Help for Necklace
boscobel replied to calyx6's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Are you crafty at all? I played around with making jewelry for a while and that second necklace seems like it would be easy to make. You could even get the stones in a yellow-y color (i even have a bunch at home!). It looks like you would just buy a chain and the circle attachments and a bead cap and put it all together. -
Help Pick His Wedding Band
boscobel replied to foxytv's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Damn, that is a hard poll. I didn't even vote, cuz I am stuck. I really like the two-tone (my e-ring is two tone), but I also really like the others. Damn, I just scrolled back up and I still can't decide. Good luck with that! -
I purchased it for our wedding, b/c I had a trip planned a few years ago and no INS, and my best friends father passed away the morning we were supposed to leave. My ex tried to get a refund and they would only refund for family members deaths, not a BF's father. Ever since then, I decided if the trip was over 1k, I would purchase it. This is my first expensive trip since then, so I can't say that I will stick to it, but for this I thought it was a good idea.

boscobel replied to dragonfly's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
Wow, Kelly. I think it has all been said above. That was hot. Imagine how the photographer felt being there first hand, while we are all getting hot and bothered by it just looking at pics! Hahhahaha, great pics, Kelly! -

Engraving Ideas
boscobel replied to foxytv's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I def think classic, but I bet Matt would think funny. We'll see. -
My only advice would be to NOT try on anything out of your price range. I am totally in love with a dress that is about 3x what I wanted to spend. And everyday that goes by, I am more convinced that I am going to buy it. I love it, but wish I never saw it, cuz I also found a perfectly lovely dress in my price range! Good luck!!!!

Vista Print formatting issues...
boscobel replied to boscobel's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Heidi, you are awesome. Ok, well I am off on vacation all next week, so I have lots of work to do. I will try to get something together by lunch, and send it to see what you think. My problem is that I don't really know what I want! I will mess around and send a few different options I guess... You are truely a great addition to this board! -
So I received my luggage loops and tags in the mail this morning. I was so excited that I missed my train and was late for work, cuz I had to open it up and test them out. I used my train-pass to see what they look like. Ironic, huh? Missed my train while I was playing with my train pass. Anyway, I wanted to purchase business cards from Vista Print with my logo and info on one side and lines for Name, Address, etc on the other. I tried to uoload the logo that I had been playing with, but it is telling me that I need to change all kinds of things. I am good with computers when it comes to Excel, Access and stuff like that, but when it comes to anything grapical, I am clueless. I created the logo in Power Point, then saved as a jpeg. But Vista Print is giving me the error message on document size, aspect ratio and resolution. I have no idea how to fix these! My work computer doesn't allow me to download the program that Vista Print suggests, (need to be administrator), and my home computer hasn't been working for a while now. I don't even think I have the logo looking like I want it, but I was hoping that someone could help me figure out how to fix these things... Man, that was a mouthful!!

Oh, well that stinks. I didn't realize you were counting on her for other things as well. Perhaps she can give you some makeup lessons? (That is what I really need to do, eventually.) I know it is hard when people can't do for you what you would do for them. I have been friends with 4 girls for between 15-20 years and not one of those girls is making the trip to Jamaica. They were supposed to be my bridesmaids. (They even said Yes when I asked them and then after about 4 months, they all backed out, one by one.) My one other friend who i've only been close with over the last 6 years or so, said in a heartbeat that OF COURSE she would be there. I would do anything for my friends and I have in the past. So I totally understand the hurt when they don't do the same for you. I think you just have to realize that it isn't that she cares less then you care, just that she cares in a different way. Like those friends of mine do care and they are there for me in many ways, but just not in Jamaica. Sorry to have gotten off topic, I am just trying to relate it...
