  1. At this point I would definately deactivate the button until you can figure it out. How many people are on your list? If it is only a few, and you feel comfortable with it, then call them and explain. I don't think anyone would expect YOU to eat 33% of their bills just to make payments easier for them. Are you paying for the trip and the guests are paying you? If that is the setup, if you didn't have the button, they would be mailing you the check, so I think reverting to the original way isn't tacky.
  2. wow, that stinks! I have no advice, but to call Dreams. The worst they can say is, sorry I can't help you. But you never know, they may be able to do it for you. I hope it all works out!
  3. OMG, Heidi, I really have no words for you. I have tears in my eyes as I type this, b/c no one should have to go thru this at all, let alone AGAIN. I am so sorry for you and Reggie's loss and you are both in my thoughts.
  4. Are they usually a surprise? I don't think it would be weird for you to talk to her about it, even if you said exactly what you jsut said - that you'd be happy doing a spa day in Mexico. Don't forget that it is about YOU. I am sure she is thinking of doing something, so why not have some input? But then, I am a planner, not much for surprises, so I am going ot be involved in my shower and bach. party. My sister tells me it's cuz I am controlling. But I don't go crazy about the details either, which is kinda why I want to be involved, so that everything is pretty low-key.
  5. Trisha - why can't you tell her? I am planning mine WITH my sister. It helps that we kinda like to do the same things, but still.
  6. Oh lordy yes, Ann. I feel embarrassed for them. Especially when they are all drunk and dancing on the bar with short skirts on. That seems to happen all the time in Philly. I am fine with it, if that is fun for them, but I jsut don't see how. I guess I have always been more laid back then that. And male strippers do NOTHING for me. I would much rather watch a woman stripper, but I do not want to be the one they are focused on, EVER!
  7. I know I was also told at Beaches that I couldn't ship anything there either. I hadn't thought this far ahead yet, but I guess its good to know what you all think for when the time comes! HOLY CRAP, Jerzzygirl! I just saw that your wedding is in 7 days!!!! Do you feel prepared? I am so excited for you.
  8. Shelley, were do you get the awesome pictures, that penguin is too cute!
  9. Perhaps it is too early in the morning for me, but I can't figure out how to set up a group album. I already have an account there, do I need to create a new one? Sorry if this seems obvious... 10. WOW! Good luck and have an awesome wedding!!!!
  11. How surprised are you that all hardly any of us want the traditional bach. party? I guess I should've expected so, since most of us are going the DW route. great ideas ladies! I will talk to my sister today about our options, but I might stick with the pottery thing...
  12. I thnk it needs something. Not sure what, but there are lots of fonts that you can use to jazz it up. Even if you don't add a font that has palm trees, tropical flowers, seashells or something, perhaps jsut playing around with different fonts could help. For instance, you could make certain things scripty, or block-y. The info looks good and everything, but at first glance they seem like they are missing something. Is there something you have adopted as your "theme"? (Tami used Palm Trees, I used hibiscuses, Shelley used starfish, as examples)
  13. I don't want one either, but I don't think that is an option. Really what I think would be great is to have everyone over or out to dinner and drinks. But only my real close friends, cuz when there is more then say 8 people, you don't even get a chance to talk to everyone! 14. Tami, that sounds awesome! The one you are planning in NC actually sounds like my FI's favorite bachelor party that he went to a few years ago. They went deep-sea fishing. For his, he wants to go hunting.
  15. Well now, there's an option! I love me some wine! Quote: Originally Posted by akh or you could do a wine tasting. many liquor stores offer this service (they can come to your house), or at a restaurant.
  16. That does sound awesome. All my friends have or will have young children by then, and they all live over an hour away from me. I do love that idea and was going to do something like that for the ones that travel to Jamaica with me, but I think I need something easier (cheaper and less time!) for my bach party.
  17. I am not really into the normal bachlorette party. I don't want to wear a tiara and a sash and get in a limo and go to a bar and be the center of attention. I am a much happier person when I am with people close to me. I always knew I wouldn't want the regular party and am trying to think up alternatives. I am all about the drinks, so don't get me wrong there! The only things that I can come up with are: 1. Scrapbooking party - (we have a local shop who closes down and allows alcohol) I vetoed this for me, b/c I am going to have my friends all scrapbook 2 pages to compile into a book at my shower. 2. Pottery Party - I think this is what I am leaning towards. Renting out a pottery place and having all my friends that care to come paint a dish or vase or something for me and Matt, then the store fires it and we will always have it! If anyone else has any other ideas to add, please let me know!
  18. I LOVE these hair clips - so cute! I think you could do just about anything with grandma's necklace - wear it to the legal, pin it to your pocket book, pin it to your shoes (stole that idea from Shelley). WOW, sorry that is so huge!!!
  19. I am using Online Wedding Planning Tools and Websites: OurWeddingDay.com, I have no complaints!
  20. Yay! I am so glad it worked out for you! And I LOVE the idea of a red wedding dress, but I am just not that daring. I can't wait to see your pics!
  21. You are making me all teary. I think this forum is a wonderful place to be and I am so happy that I found you all. (Is this what a cult feels like?) SO I logged on this morning, looked for this thread because I wanted to tell you all how much the offer alone meant to me and such and that it was sold already. BUT now I know you guys did in fact purchase it, OMG I want to cry. :-( Not only does the painting hold meaning to us, but knowing that you girls got it for us, makes it one of the best gifts I have ever gotten, I feel so blessed to be apart of this forum and I feel that I made some great friendships on here. We without question have THE BEST group of people on this forum..... I LOVE YOU GUYS....
  22. My how everyones thoughts are different on this one! I had heard that you shouldn't use buttercream in the heat either, cuz it slides right off. I was planning on using fondant, cuz that is what I read/heard somewhere. Since Julie makes cakes, I think I would go with her thoughts. however, you could always check with a few bakeries in Cabo to see what they say, as suggested above.
  23. That really stinks. Can you post a pic of the dress so we can see what it looked like? Lizz is on a mission for you and doing great, but you know what they say, a pictures worth a thousand words...
