  1. I was thinking of buying beach mats to put in the OOT bags. I am doing one bag per couple, so I would put 2 in each bag. I don't want to spend a million dollars on them. Anyone seen any super inexpensive ones anymore? I found these on Oriental Trading, but didn't want to act to hasty. They are 12 for $24.95 which seems pretty good to me. I'd rather give them towels, but I was unable to find ANY even close to affordable to buy so many of them. I will probably by just 50 and add more as I need later... Non-Woven Beach Mat
  2. Hope all is going smoothly for you! Have a wonderful wedding day and honeymoon!
  3. Jenn - I cannot believe you posted this and with no pics. You should know better then that! No matter what you will look lovely. I like the idea of changing dresses, so there you go and who says you don't NEED as many dresses as you want!
  4. I have no idea about any of this. Probably Ava Maria. Matt's fam is from Italy and it's a beautiful song. The only other thing that comes to mind is ALicia Keys new song "No One". I lvoe it, but Matt and I have very different taste in music. I am all R&B and hip hop. He doesn't want Alicia Keys. I am not too concerned about the music though.
  5. How far out of the area? It doesn't hurt to begin the search now, cuz it might take you some time to find the perfect fit, which you SO deserve after this wreck.
  6. You know what I decided? Eff the stupid written laws, basic human decency should've directed her to allow you some leeway this time. Or if she had a problem with it, to call you at home and say "I know you have a lot going on, but we really need you to call in to let us know you aren't coming in." How frigging hard is that? I think you should post their company name so we all know who to avoid and quit immediately. We all know you are intelligent and talented and you will find another job. If you can't quit immediately, PLEASE, please, please, begin the job hunt now!
  7. Did they know on Friday that you were going to be out? And how come checking in with email and your phone messages doesn't count? I think she is just an evil bitch, b/c who would enforce that rule to the letter given everything that you have been going thru lately. I think everyone else has had it right above when they say you are strong for not punching that wench right in the face and quitting right there. It really isn't fair and you certainly are being tested lately. Let me know if there is anything I can do. 8. Heidi - didn't they know last week that you were going to be out this week? I thought I rememberer you saying that...
  9. Well at least there in an end in site. Where do you go in 6 months? I would totally start a new job hunt TODAY! That is bullshit. Employees have rights and I don't think they have the right to tell you AFTER the fact that you are going to be unpaid.
  10. OMG, Heidi, that is INSANE. If you have the vacation time, I think you are entitle to use them! Is there an HR department there you can speak to about it? That just doesn't seem right and you DO NOT need this from her! I am angry for you!
  11. I hope all goes according to plan. Have a wonderful wedding!
  12. That sounds like a lot of fun! I can't wait to see pics!
  13. Wow, 2 weeks! That is awesome and I love the attitude you have about it.
  14. That's a great idea Alyssa! I like seeing others responses as well, if they are comfortable posting. Now, I gotta start thinking of some cool stuff.
  15. Erica - I can't beleive we have to wait until the twenty-damn-first to hear about your dress shopping!! That's over a whole week away. [sigh]
  16. Tami - that is such a cute idea! We are doing a cake (I think, we haven't actually spoken about it!), but I am sure it will be different then Jamaica's. I don't think we will upgrade anything in Jamaica for the cake, so it prob won't be that great. I also want to have a variety of desserts at my AHR, so we may forgo the cake for that, but I would like to have both.
  17. Shelley - what kind of party are you going for? A regular type wedding reception? Hor d’ouerves only? Picnic style? I think the type of party you are having would help in deciding. If you are doing something more casual and light, I would think 4-9 or 10 would be cool. If it is a regular reception 5 or 6 to 11. I have been to a few Sunday receptions and they always ended at 11. Which is fine and all, but I mostly called out of work on Monday!
  18. I agree that the gift amount should be $25, then shipping extra. Drea - I already PM'd you my address and email, but that was before having a list was mentioned. I will send you another as soon as I think of something!
  19. Thanks for the kind words, Jenn, but you know you are always harder on yourself than others are. I just HATE that my clothes don't fit anymore! I am def taking more care with what I eat, but nothing has changed and I am lazy and want a quick fix.
  20. I am not crazy about ribs, but I emailed this to my FI cuz he is! I am sure he will love it!
