  1. I've started the "couch to 5k" program a bunch of times, but have always had to quit it for one reason or another, but I really found it helped me. I have asthma and haven't ran in years, so the slow work up to a full run was really helpful. http://www.c25k.com There are all kinds of podcasts you can download too.
  2. $170 is a great pot. And I want it. My main motivation is that Xavier will be 1 in April and I do NOT want to look like this! There is no excuse at this point to have "baby weight" b/c at this point, it's just me not taking responsibility for my actions. i.e. eating snacks nonstop. I'm finishing up my first week of the cleanse (eating all raw/green food, so mainly fruits and vegetables with a minimum amount of brown rice or lentils daily) and I think I lost under 3 lbs but Matt lost 6.5!!! Why is it so easy for men? I'm happy for him b/c he's happy and feeling good about himself, but I also kinda want to punch him in the face. Not really though. But kinda. Jealous much?
  3. I just sent my weight in to Ann, I'm down 2 lbs. Could be that I have been sick and in bed and literally ate nothing but a few egg whites yesterday.
  4. Wow. Her poor little foot! I got chills when they showed the picture of the damage. She certainly is a fighter!
  5. Wow to that pic of Gwen. So teeny!!! I remember that happening, so crazy. Cherina - you make some adorably cute and obviously strong babies!
  6. A loss is a loss, no matter how minimal it is! I am down 1.5 lbs this week, which was up 1 lb from week one, so I'm only down .5 lbs in total, but I'll take it! I just dropped off payment yesterday for a cleanse. The hubs and I were talking about doing one for awhile now and we are most likely going to start on Saturday. It's the Standard Process Purification Cleanse, for anyone interested. I've never done it before, but I've heard good things. It's more about cleansing your body to make your organs work better to enhance sleep, skin issues, stress, mental clarity, low libido, weight loss, etc. But I don't expect to lose more then say 5 lbs and even that is pushing it. I did a cleanse before and didn't lose very much.
  7. Way to go girls! That's a pretty impressive lose list! I hope to add myself to the pack next week.
  8. So my official weight was +1 lb this week. Oh well, I'm over it! Trying to make better decisions this week. Holy amazing 6.5 lbs loss! That's great! And I'm jealous. What are the cleanses you girls are talking about? Wsa it mentioned here? The hubs and I were talking about doing one and he suggested the isagenix (sp?) but I read reviews on it that weren't great and a co-worker suggested "standard process". I'm leaning towards the second one.
  9. AF = aunt flo. It's shorthand/internet talk for your period. I had my first one since being pregnant and went buckwild with food. I thought I was being good, but in reality, I wasn't. I don't even drink soda and I think I had a soda every day. BAD CARLY!
  10. I'm pretty sure I'm going to ruin the losing streak for everyone this week. But today is another day. I had my first AF in like 18 months and I binged on whatever I wanted. I thought I wasn't being too bad, but this morning I was up 1.5 lbs. We'll see what I am tonight b/c I forgot to take a pic and hopefully oatmeal for breakfast and a small lunch then a healthy dinner. Hopefully I can be back on track now.
  11. Great job ladies! 21 lbs cummulative is pretty amazeballs. I don't weigh in until Wednesday, but I hope I can add to that number. We had a 50th wedding anniversary yesterday that had THE BEST dessert table I have ever seen, and I def overdid it. But I was conscious the rest of the week, so hopefully that'll be enough.
  12. I wieghed in this morning and was back to my more normalish 146, so I'm glad I waited to make a Wednesday weigh in! I don't know why 148 seems unacceptable to me and 146 is manageable, but it's what happens in my brain. Yesterday I was a total food monster. I won the work superbowl pool and the winner had to buy Dunkin for everyone, so I brought donuts/muffins/bagels to work and then I proceeded to eat the brownie batter filled donut (don't even try it, it's exactly as delicious as it sounds, which is EVIL of DD to make) and then around 11, I got hungry and had a bagel with cream cheese. I made it up by skipping lunch and eating yogurt + blueberries + cereal for dinner, but man did I feel like a cow yesterday. This morning I started off with oatmeal and plan to have lentils for lunch. Not sure about dinner b/c the hubs usually cooks on Wednesdays. But maybe we'll food shop for more healthy stuff? I want to do some juicer stuff, but I'm damn lazy when it comes to food prep, so it's never happened for me.
  13. I weighed in this morning but was heavier then I had been all last week, so I think I might stick with the Wednesday weigh in as well. I know it's only a few lbs, but that number on the scale just didn't seem right to me this morning. Then again we were a tad gluttunous this weekend. Went to a banquet dinner and it was buffet Japanese/Chinese at the place we had our AHR and we love it there and totally overate. But it was so good. My sisters boyfriend just did nutri-system for two months and lost 20 lbs, but he said he couldn't do it anymore b/c he's a vegatarian and likes to cook and the prepacked food was driving him insane. So he gave me his leftovers. I'm not doing the whole diet, but I figure if I replace some meals (like lunch) with those, that will be good portion control. And I ate 1 or 2 of the meals already and they were pretty good. Congrats to everyone that is making this a priority! Any loss is a good loss, so I hope we all are down at least 1 lb by next week! But most likely even more since the first week tends to be the best. And kudos to you for sharing your weight and facing it headon! I don't think I'm that brave.
  14. Don't beat yourself up too bad, we all have those days. Although I must admit I never ate dry kool aid and I'm intrigued. Sounds like those dip sticks candy when I was a kid and YUMMO! Id' say yesterday was a win: oatmeal and blueberries for breakfast, lentils and veggie chips for lunch, a big salad for dinner with only random snacking in the middle and mostly healthy-ish. Today: oatmeal and banana for breakfast; I'm meeting my mom and MIL for lunch (they are bringing my son, yay!) so probably a salad from Applebees. Dinner, not sure yet. But it's a good start!
  15. I think there is about 10 of us, but Ann will post a final count and list soon, I'm sure. So today I ate yogurt+blueberries+kashi for breakfast and lentil soup for lunch. FX I can stay away from cookies and chocolate. I hope to start my exercise routine this weekend. I can't do it now b/c we got a new couch this past weekend and our old couch hasn't found a new home yet, so there is literally no free space in our tiny house.
  16. All right, I'm in. I was waivering back and forth b/c ... actually I don't know why. But I have a 9 month old son and it's no longer "baby weight" that I have retained, it's just me. So time to step up and slim down. I recently bought a DVD set of workouts (Moms Into Fitness) that I plan on doing. I haven't started yet so can't claim to know how good it is, but it was a groupon type deal that I just couldn't pass up since I need to get in shape. Xavier loves the tub, so I'm pretty sure that he'll be wanting to swim this summer and my parents have a pool so that means I need to be ok in a swimsuit. My husband just quit smoking and is also at his heaviest so step #1 was that we cut out chips. We both have a weakness for salty crunch, so I think that will be a big leap in health. Ann - paypaling you now.
  17. I'm interested to follow the thread, but not sure I can commit to the group just yet... Also, the pics are of the scale showing the current weight you are submitting, not bikini shots or anything! I'm sure that everyone understood, but felt the need to say it again b/c the thought of taking a picture of myself for accountability makes me shiver. The scale, I can deal with.
