Cool, they look great. Thanks for posting sites as well. I am going to check out the raffia now. Did you include a return envelope for the rsvp card? If so, did it fit in the mailing envelope or did you have to fold it? I was thinking of buying envelopes that have the string tie closure for the extra room, but if yours fit an envelope inside an envelope, then I don't need to worry!

Eyelash Extensions *post ALL info here*

Here is the thread that talks about it. It starts off with JulieR and how much she loved them, so I had to give'em a test run for my wedding. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t11073-2 Here is my summary at the end though. "Ok ladies. I have bad news. I haven't worn any makeup and I have been extremely gentle while washing and drying my face. I haven't even washed my eyes trying to be careful! BUT, almost every lash on my right side is gone. Ok, not every one, but about half. I have lost a few from my left. Day 1 - felt kinda cool, but also like a prostitute (they felt so obvious) Day 2 - wanted to rip them off Day 3 & 4 - they were comfortable and I thought they looked good Day 5 - cool, but I could see that some were lose when I looked real close Day 6 & 7 - dropping like flies I called last Wednesday to let them know that one fell out, I got voicemail and I left my work number and my cell number. No one called me back. You are supposed to get one refill for free, but I am not sure I want to bother refilling them. They are really annoying right now, half in and half out. Since they barely lasted 6 days, I don't think I would do this for Jamaica since I will be there 9. I am going to test out some other options though. Perhaps dyeing them or perming them. I am glad I did this and all, cuz I didn't wear makeup to the wedding, but honestly, I can apply them myself and get a day out of them as opposed to $80 and getting 5 days. I do sleep on my sides, but I tried to be extra careful. Oh well. I am glad I tried it, but I don't think I would do it again. Unless maybe I would try a different salon. Humpf." I am also just now getting back to my full lashes, but that probably has to do with me ripping them all out once they started to fall out... -
Parasols for your guests during ceremony
boscobel replied to Leia78's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I don't recall who, but someone had them at the back end up the chair aisles, kinda like an umbrella basket, so the guests could take as needed. But laying them across the chairs would work as well! -

Good to know Leia! I am totally buying MAC eyelashes and bringing them with me, since the eyelash extensions experiment didn't go too well a few months ago. Rach - I dont really have any advice, except the indiviudal bunches of like 3 lashes look more real then a strip of heavy lashes. Hope that makes sense.... I have only used the cheap CVS brand before though. -
Right, it's awesome. You've just made my day. Sad enough, it really did! And I think that person had been on since before I signed up, cuz I thought I tried to be just me then too, but Yay! And Tammy, wala, hahahaahahhaaa. Ya know, I might have to borrow that everyonce in a while, cuz while very very wrong (and how do you not know that!), it cracked me up. Wala. Hahaha. Man, it is time to go home!

wedding band = pain in my a$$

Well, it sounds like you had a great experience, can you post who you used? Where they a nationwide chain? The best is that you can pick out the quality of your diamonds to the T. For example, I have 5 little aschers that run on the top of my ring... I went through many loose stones to get the most uniform diamonds I could get... make sure you get them from the same parcel to ensure they will be a close macth. After the ring is made they can always rework the ring to ensure it fits perfectly. And really if you get it from a wholesaler you will save $$. Mine was 1/2 the cost than if I bought it on blue nile. It really just depends too on what you want to make. I will say though that you need to shop around for your jeweler or try to get some referals... there we're some that I met with and they we're like yea we have to keep your ring for a day to get the measurements... when sitting flush with my e-ring wasn't an issue.. RED FLAG! No way did I let them take my ring. The jeweler that I ended up using just measured my ering quickly in front of me, wrote stuff down. Just be wary. Good Luck Tara and let us know how it goes! Monika : ) -
Leigh - that is awesome!! I am so happy for you! I joined the week after you did (if I remember right) and I lost 3 lbs the first week and then stopped keeping track. I have been too busy most of the time and too lazy the rest of the time. But you give me hope! My dress fitting is a month away, so I am going to get serious with it NOW!

wedding band = pain in my a$$
boscobel replied to tvt's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
When I was looking for yellow diamond bands, the jewelers used a yellow highlighter and colored in th stones so I could see the color. It gave a semi-real impression of what it woud look like. But I thought I remembered you posting before that you had found ittoo? Am I completely mistaken, or did you change your mind? I have to agree though that all the rings are the same everywhere.... -
Sorry, I wasn't very clear there - I want to be just "carly", but it's already taken. Then when I try to think of something to change it to, I can never decide and whatever, I'll only be carlymcmullen for a few more months, then I will change it to something esle fo rmy new last name... Yeah, I am checking them out now... I wanted white also, and I only see the blue or tortoise... I will continue the hunt. I am nervous of the plastic ones, but it may end up being what I buy -

How much did you end up paying? I am going to check their site right now. and if they come back in one piece and I can wait long enough, I would totally buy them from you! -
BM attire opinions needed
boscobel replied to boscobel's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Ok, fine, you guys just want me to spend every last dime I have!! ;-) I think buying more parasols is a nice gesture as well, and I think I will do it. For the dresses, the ones we have already are $180, but the smallest size left is a 6 and 2 of the girls are a 0. So I don't want to have them in the right dress and the other two the off girls out. I am thinking about just telling them to buy a dress in pink or orange and then the color scheme is right, but not matchy matchy. -
BM attire opinions needed
boscobel replied to boscobel's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Oh crap, that reminded me. I have parasols for the 3 girls and myself for Jamaica and we would use them for the pics up here as well. Should I purchase more?? -
I swore that I posted a thread about this a while ago, but I did a search for every thread created by me and couldn't come up with it, so here goes... I have 3 BM's coming to Jamaica with me (my sis, his sis and my friend), but I also have 4 very good friends that can't come to Jamaica due to various reasons but were originally considered part of the wedding party. These girls are still partaking in all the regular wedding party stuff, planning the bach. party/shower. I am purchasing them all gifts for being a part of my wedding. But my dilema is regarding my AHR. It is going to be a fairly formal affair, meaning we are hiring a photog and will be doing photos before and then during the reception. My BM's have a dress that I will post below and the GM's are more then likely going to be wearing blue shirts. Should I tell the 4 other BM's to wear a specific color dress or jsut let them have free reign? I want them to look like they belong in the pictures when the photog is taking them, but I don't know how to make that happen.... Opinions please!! Darn, photobucket is down, can't post the Bm dress pics. They are cream with pink and orange flowers....

Not sure how to handle this ...
boscobel replied to AlmostMrsForbes's topic in Just venting or funnies
Oh jeez. This is not your problem! Your friend should act like a grown woman and tell the other girl herself. Give her time to find a replacement or another roomie. I don't think it's up to your to subsidize the differernce. However, if you are in a position to do so, that might lessen the blow. That situation suck! -
got my reception shoes!

Thanks ladies! I an't wait to see them in person, I am not too crazy about the metallic disks on the heels, but the rest is kinda perfect! -

Amy, just say the word if you need help! and of course post, colors you would want and a pic of your dress (I remember loving it, but can't recall the exact image) and we will all get to work!
