I am afraid it's a little too slow, so we'll see. We are taking dance lessons, we suck at the waltz, but the fox trot is ok. So we may have to change it, but this is the first one (after like 20 suggestions) that we agreed on, so there ya go!

Announcing the new BDW Starfish Journal
boscobel replied to MsShelley's topic in Forum News & Updates
I hope at least 3, since my starfish will be attending to my bouquet on it's 3rd wedding! Perhaps I will pack some gorilla glue with it or something. -
I don't think we are going to have an offical first dance in Jamaica, cuz I want to have our reception on the beach with no music. We only have 22 adults, so I think I will stick with the intimacy of conversation. I am hoping we will be able to hear music somewhere else though. Although I am sure the sound of the ocean will be nice. For our AHR, we just decided yesterday, so it may change - Elvis Presley "I can't help falling in love with you" YouTube - Elvis Presley - I Cant Help Falling In Love With You

Bride to be - Maura Mrs - AnnR They are both always around and always helpful as well as comical. (Maura's picture just popped in my head and made me laugh of when Jose got a pic of her in knee socks and no pants cooking. Too funny!)

Gifts for parents

I love the vow renewal thing! that would be so sweet and sentimental. -
Jess - I feel exactly the same way. I am absolutely petrified to meet new people. Like worse then a blind date feeling. I've been trying to be different the last few years to stop being so antisocial, but it's hard! I don't know if anyone else could tell how uncomfortable I was, but I alwasy feel like an outsider. I am usually an observer. Luckily, the girls on the forum already know so much about me, that staying quiet wasn't really an option, cuz we just had stuff to talk about! It was surprisingly easy after the first few minutes. Then I also think leaving is hard, cuz I am not a touchy-feely person, and it's always like, what do I do, do I wave and say bye, do I give hugs? Yeah, I am crazy like that. But at least you all know that, so when we meet up, no one thinks I am weird, cuz they already know. That was alot of blah blah blah, wasn't it Abbie! Anyway, I would never think I was the type to meet "online friends", but I also didn't think I was the type to go on a blind date and I did and now we are getting married! So even though the first few moments might be awkward, I totally think it is worth it to step outside your security zone occasionally. Honestly, I talk to the girls on the forum like I would never talk to anyone else in my life at all. Lauren and I talked about bikini hair removal during lunch! Who else could you talk to about that stuff? Sometimes, I have to draw things back in when I talk to my other friends, cuz I am so open on here that my real life friends dont really want to hear (ie. laser hair removal!) You are going to have a great time! Bridal shower questions...
boscobel replied to Pisces's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I have never lived with someone before so have hardly any of my own stuff and Matt lived like a college dorm before we moved in together. So I am really looking forward to a shower and getting all the things that we need to make our home. I am not looking forward to that actual shower day, the whole center of attention thing, but I am excited for our house to become less college dorm-y and more like a family home. Showers are just part of getting married. -
Very exciting!

Melissa, it's funny that you said that, cuz I said the same thing to my sister when we left the seamstress' house. I had left the tags on the dress (no idea why) that was still marked for the original price of almost $4k, so I told my sister I bet that is why she is robbing me. I forgot she is doing a bustle on my dress as well. But really, the dress is so important and she really knew what she was doing, so I just sucked it up.

feeling oddly prepared and it's stressing me out

That does sound fun Morgan. But what a story you would have to pass along to your younger generations about how gradma and grandpa forgot to get married! Hahahaaa -

Thanks Kelly, cuz the song lists are something else that we have yet to complete. It's supposed to be Matt's job, cuz I am a hip hop girl and he doesn't want hip hop at our wedding, so I've left it to him. Gonna have to get on him with that... -
I don't think YOU are being robbed, but in general I think brides are. I went to a lady that works at the salon where I bought my dress, but I went to her home to get a cheaper price and it was still $300. All she did was hem the bottom and take in the straps/cups. The dress fit me pretty great so I didn't need much done. Imagine if I went to her IN the shop??

Make sense? My wedding is in less then 2 months and I feel like I have done everything I needed to do. Well, my sis and I are still working on the flowergirl dresses and the OOT bags, but other then that, I feel like I don't have anything to do. It's kinda weirding me out, cuz I feel like I am forgetting stuff, but I've checked over my lists and everything appears to be in order? Now, how to tell my nerves that...
-
I would pay it. I too go crazy buying stuff all the time. Matt wouldn't pay it, he likes to wait til the last possible minute. It's nice to let it gather interest, but it's only a few months, if paying it and not worrying about spending the money will relieve some stress for you, then by all means, pay it early!
-
Ya know, it's funny. Cuz I did dress kinda trashy when I was late teens-early twenties. I was a club-going girl that partied hard (in a doing illegal things kinda way, not a whoring way), and I am surprised by the things that I see girls wearing today! Especially the young teens. And I have to say that I totally agree about the internet and myspace and especially the BRATZ dolls. They are just disgusting. I've also witnessed the toddler/children shoes with heels. It's ridic.

I think the journaling is the hardest and most effective part. I rarely write it all down, but when I do, those weeks are much better!

Oh this thread is funny! I don't have any great stories off the top of my head and certainly none that could top Rachelle's or Abbie's, but I will try to think of some...

I am so very sorry you are going thru this Celina. This post is just crazy! I think you are doing the right thing by taking a step away at this point. It would seem that your sister is in need of some counseling. I am also very sorry for what happened to your mother. That is definitely enough to scar a little girl.

Thanks again for all the nice comments. It's so exciting to finally have made a decision after all this time! Nope, we are using a jewelry appraiser in Bensalem. She has great contacts and has gotten us great deals so far! She is also making me the hibisucs necklaces that I was searching for all those months ago. They should be done within the next week or so, I can't wait to post pics! Quote: Originally Posted by Lizz I love them, Carly!
