I found that the music was something I was really concerned about and it ending up not mattering all that much. Like I was trying to map it out to play X song during X part of wedding/reception and it was overwhelming and a lot of work. What we ended up doing was compiling all of our songs into a "Wedding" playlist and it ended up great b/c people were requesting to hear certain things or they wanted to hear a song again. So I would just make sure that you have more then enough songs to cover the time frame (I think a playlist will tell you how long it is) and then kinda go with the flow that day. Although if someone had said that to me prior to my wedding, I probably would've told them they were crazy and I needed to organize it. I can check my "wedding" playlist when I get home to give you an idea of how many songs we had...

I'm a new mac user, so might not be able to help, but I thought if you had the most current version of something, you could convert it on your mac? Like if you downloaded a template in Powerpoint you could convert it to your mac if you had the same program. I might also be talking out of my ass b/c my mac is so new that I haven't bought any programs yet... I know that a lot of brides had the same concerns about getting married in Mexico (it's one of the reasons I got married in Jamaica instead), and some people would do the legal part of the ceremony here before or after the one in Mexico, so that's always an option. Don't quote me on it, but I think it's as simple as just doing the paperwork here and having a"legal day" at the courthouse and then you go away for your cermonial marriage. A lot of people kept this information to themselves to keep the very special feel of newly married at their DW. If that's not an option for you, I know there are others that can chime in and let you know exactly what the legal part entails in Mexico (Panama).

Congrats and welcome to the forum! Unfortunately, I have no advice for the two different travel "from" locations b/c all of my guests were local. My first thought would b to contact a TA (who specializes in DW's) b/c they'll know all the resorts and will probably be able to suggest different locations based on your guests needs. You might want to try one of the BDW Travel Agents. They Specialize in Destination weddings. You can contact them HERE! My next thought would be that it's better that you realize early in the game that you will not please everyone. So I wouldn't start asking for too much outside input from our family/guests unless you really won't mind catering to their thoughts. Just remember that it's YOUR (and FI) wedding and while we do want out guests to be happy, we still need to be getting what we want and not losing whatever our "dream" may be. The few resorts that you mentioned are great and talked about a lot on here, so I'm sure you've read through some threads, but I still think that talking to someone knowledgable about the travel will help you get a feel for where you want to go. We were tempted by a timeshare a few years ago when we went on vacatio to a friends timeshare, but we couldn't deal with the car-salesman-y sales pitch. Always seemed shady, I'm glad we didn't give in!

So we made the announcement that we're having a boy on Christmas. We opened the envelope on my birthday (Dec 6th) and kept it a secret from everyone until Christmas and we gave both of our moms a gift to tell them the gender. Everyone's really excited, but now I think they understand why the drama surrounding the need for a boys name! Me and MIL were talking about it the other day and Matt got so mad that he stormed out of the house. Sometimes he has trouble having a conversation without getting upset and thinking it's an argument. So I talked him down later and explained that we can disagree without arguing, we'll see how that goes. And my sister knows the trouble that we've been having so she suggested that we decide to not talk AT ALL about names for a week and during that week, we'll each make up our own list of 5 names as if we are naming the baby alone and after a week of not discussing it, we'll talk about our top 5. And we can't call names "retarded" (as he's been known to do), we can veto and discuss, but maybe the week break will give some relief and allow us to discuss it without him getting all worked up.
