  1. Glad it went well! It's hard to see the pictures since they are so tiny, but it is nice to know you handled it well. That is what I am scared of for my shower...
  2. Here is the one I ended up getting... with the reverse being
  3. I never thought of that, Jenn!! And thanks for the insight as well, Jill. I am going to email her back and just ask her to supply us with a power extension cord. I bet she is just trying to make me think that i need to hire a DJ.
  4. So I think most of you know that Beaches has annoyed me ever since I booked my wedding. I always try to look past it cuz we can't change the location site, but I am kinda crabby today and they just pissed me off. We are only having 26 people (22 adults) in Jamaica for our reception. I don't want to spend almost $1k for a DJ for such a small group, so I emailed them to confirm they would provide a power cord if I brought an ipod and speakers or docking station. She wrote me back that she would suggest I bring battery powered everything since there are no plugs at the reception sites. Am I out of line for thinking they should just supply me with an extension cord It doesn't seem too much to ask in my head, but like I said, I am a little crabby today...
  5. Rachel - so excited to see you back! We missed you round these parts. Glad to hear everything went well and we are (im)patiently awaiting some pics.
  6. Trisha - everything looks wonderful! I am so happy for you and can't wait to hear how everything went! Have a wonderful wedding! (None of the pictures that had a vistaprint code showed up)
  7. I forgot to post previously that 2 of my BM's got theirs. They love it! Said the quality was way better inperson then what they thought. They said it doesn't feel like jersey material. And I went to two birds to get better directions for them and made a document for them to have with them. All in all, very pleased with the purchase! Now to just get that last girl on the ball and order it already!
  8. SO happy that this worked out for you!!! I love the dress you decided on!
  9. And she didn't know this before now OMG, that really stinks!
  10. Jenny (xxjuicyxx), I beleive , got hers at Jessica McClintock on clearance...
  11. I am also worried about squinty eyes. Supposedly very light eyes are very sensitive to the light and sometimes I can't open my eyes in the sunshine! But we def won't be wearing sunglasses for the ceremony. But probably will have a paid close by and in my purse. I will jsut make sure that the sun is behind me! Hahahaaa
  12. SO excited for you and I can't wait to hear how the dual weddings go. I will do my version of praying that you have a wonderful and drama-free wedding!
  13. That is GREAT news! And such a quick resolution! YAAYYYYYYY!
  14. Oh Mo, I am so sorry. I am crying right now at my desk like a lunatic. I know how much you wanted this and I really am so sorry for you and Tim.
  15. Wow, you have so many to choose from! Good luck with that. They turned out great!
  16. I think it looks good! A little big on the top, like not fitted to your body perfectly. But I like it looks good on you! It reminds me of the Davids Bridal dress that is so pretty. Actually, I think Lizz might have that dress from DB. I know the material might be different and not as nice in person, but it really is pretty.
  17. Can you tell us which resort you were using to see if there is a possibility of someone knowing another suggestion? What about leaving the resort for the wedding. An example is that MoBride got married at the Riu in Jamaica, but she took her reception to a nice Jamaican restaurant and she was EXTREMELY happy with that choice. Is that an option for you? Have the ceremony and go elsewhere for the reception? Also, I wonder if they saw that you were seriously going elsewhere if they WOULD come down in price, evne though they say its non-negotiable.
  18. Awwww, Tammy, I know it's been said a million times, but I don't know how you do it. I seriously just welled up in tears knowing that you might have to say goodbye.
  19. Wow, I am so sorry to hear that. Can your TA suggest any hotels in teh same area? I would def be on the phone with her/him right now begging for help!
  20. Can you post pics of you wearing it? It is so hard to tell from what you posted. I am sorry that you are so disappointed. The original dress is gorgeous!
  21. I agree. My sis is a 0 in that store normally, but with huge (for her size anyway) boobs and the XS was falling off of her. She looked ridic. We were laughing at her when she tried it on. I didn't have money on that shopping trip, so I didn't try them on, but I can tell you that in person they are just as cute!
  22. Or "Please Do Not Feed the xxx" Fill in your title there. That would be funny!
  23. DEF do not cancel until you find an alternate place. Sometimes we need to put the anger aside (hard, I know), but you don't want to not get married. I really would talk to the WC. Perhaps there are other menu options that you could choose. Or turn it into a cocktail reception with light hor d'ouerves. I think canceling that resort would be the most satisfying thing to do at this moment, but in the long run, that choice might be wrong. And did you say $100/pp for open bar - like $3k just for the open bar and THEN you also would have to pay $100/pp for food? That whole deal seems crazy. I wish I knew a place in Aruba for you. 24. Maybe asking to go above your WC's head to management and letting them know that your wedding hass been planned for x months/years and you have x guests coming, but you CANNOT afford this price hike. While I have encountered many problems planning my wedding, I have to say that it seems that people do try to make it work for you. Otherwise, I would begin the talks with your TA about moving to a different hotel in Aruba and see what you options are. I hope you dont have to go that route, but at least you would be well informed if you had to.
