  2. Here is a link you might find helpful: Moon Palace Wedding: Moon Palace Wedding Reviews, Moon Palace Resort Wiki, Moon Palace 2012 Brides Does your TA handle DW's often? Or travel to Mexico? I'm wondering if maybe it would be better to switch to someone more knowledgable. I know that we were with three TA's before we found the one we ended up using.
  3. Check here - http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/category/wedding-vendors. There are categories for quite a few different areas and you should be able to find specific reviews and maybe even products to view.
  4. I would check with the Riu resorts. I didn't get married in Mexico (Jamaica), but I remember that the Riu was the most popular among many Jamaica brides due to the reasons that you specified.
  5. My comments are in orange... (I just typed up all my answeres and realized you were probably specifically asking about Maroma since that's your username, but I didn't see that in your text and I already wrote out my answers so I'm sharing anyway!)
  6. I can't say for sure, 100%, but I think that sounds like something totally doable. My wedding was a few years ago, but they were very accomodating on what we wanted/needed, so I would try to narrow your choices down to a few resorts and then check with them how flexible they are. I would think that at least on the wedding/reception day, they should be able to help.
  7. A friend of mine is searching for this dress http://www.dressale.com/black-laceaccented-white-organza-bridal-wear-p-20038.html Anyone know who the designer is? Thanks!!!
  8. Congrats and welcome to the forum! I did a quick search for you since I'm not familiar with your resort and found a few links you might find helpful. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/search.php?search=Iberostar+Quetzal http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/search.php?search=Iberostar+tucan
  9. Great idea, Tammy! I wish there was something this straightforward when I was planning.
  10. Congrats and welcome to the forum! Be sure to check out this subforum for more information on Sandals Grand Antigua - Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation Resorts Weddings
  11. Congrats and welcome to the forum!!
  12. I've never been to Mexico, so unfortunately can't give advice there. But I wanted to say congratulations on your engagement and welcome to the forum! Picking the resort was one of the hardest choices (for me anyway) so I do not envy where you are right now in your planning, but you will feel a HUGE weight relief once you are booked.
  13. Congrats and welcome to the forum! Jamy provided a ton of great links for you, so hopefully they'll help. I've never been to a Sandals resort, so don't have any advice, but wanted to give you a warm welcome!
  14. I had to google b/c I wasn't sure what frangipani looked like, but they are gorgeous! I know that quite a few people have used real touch bouquets and been quite happy with them. Here is a link to a search that gives a ton of threads so you can read up on others experiences: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/search.php?search=real+touch+bouquet
  15. I did a search for "Varadero" and got some threads returned that might be helpful to you. Riu Varadero Riu Varadero Melia Varadero?? My Melia Varadero Review!! Melia Varadero Brides!!
  16. The only performers I remember seeing where fire dancers, which looked SO cool in pictures. I think hiring salsa dancers would be cool too, but I wonder if you should hire them to perform or teach? I wouldn't be interesting in learning if I was at a wedding, but I love to watch people dance. But that's just my opinion and I'm a horrible dancer so that's why I'd prefer to watch.
  17. My friend did a country-ish themed wedding a few years ago and it was adorable and not redneck at all. What time of year will the AHR be? My friends was in October, so they used fall pumpkins, etc to decorate the tables. They had the reception in a barn. The bride wore white cowboy boots under the dress. Hmmm, what else.... I'll have to ask her b/c it was really cute and well done, but it was almost 4 years ago so I'm blanking on specifics. But I think you can def find a way to make it nice and not redneck at all.
  18. Personally, I think that sounds fine together. I wore an ivory dress and my husband wore a white shirt.
  19. I'm not even sure what it is! I do know that they sell perforating tools though so you could make your own...
  20. I would do some searches through this forum and the DIY forum to get some ideas, but it sounds like a wedding website where people can reply onsite might be useful to you.
  21. Congrats! I always say that if you can think it, it can be done, so what you are explaining sounds totally doable to me. However, having said that, I have no idea how you would go about it! My first thought would be to either hire a DW TA that might be able to assist you in finding the right places, but I think you might even benefit more from a wedding coordinator. Even the WC at your resort might be able to assist you, b/c you are getting married off resort, but having the reception on it. I think what you've described sounds beautiful and I kinda want to go to your reception with the BBQ and live reggae band!
  22. You posted in the perfect place and what a cool idea! I wish that stuff was around 4 years ago when I was planning! Thanks for sharing.
  23. Sometimes, I like it when things match but aren't perfect. Can you post pics so we can see how different the colors are? I think linens that are darker might actually be a better contrast for photos and stuff so the people don't blend with the linens. But that's without seeing how "off" they are and also admitting that I don't tend to be a matchy-match person.
  24. Are you only open to local photogs or would you hire a photog that will travel in? I know there are plenty on the forum that are great, but I can't think of any that I know local to Montego Bay.... Did you resort offer any recommendations? Or maybe your TA could?
