I haven't heard about a good time of the year, but I do know that you can get lucky depending on the dress. Like my dress was the last in stock so I got it at a discounted rate, which was extremely helpful since it was originally more then 3x's my budget! If you are shopping at a chain like David's, they might be able to tell you when is a good time. But I'd think that privately owned shops won't really want to share that info b/c they need the revenue. That's just my opinion thought!

I think that sounds fun. I also know of someone that got married a few years ago went off road 4 wheeling (or something like that) and they got all muddy and gross and had so much fun! Well, June in Florida is hot. But I got married in May in Jamaica and it was hot, but it was perfect. We got married at 5pm, so a tad earlier then you. Does your location allow for the use of a tent? I think keeping the comfort of your guest in mind is always nice.

What about buying the flowers wholesale from Tai Flora, or the other one? If they won't do that, I would ask your resort WC, s/he might be able to point you in the right direction.

I don't have first hand knowledge of the resort/people you are speaking of, but I can say that there is definitely a difference between "island time" and the rest of the world. I remember freaking out about the lack of responses that I was getting pre-wedding, but once we were there, we were first priority and everything was perfect. So if you have heard good things, I would trust and go with it b/c the response time is much better closer to the wedding date. (Hard to swallow for a type a planner like me!)
