  1. Oh, I have also heard that people will use these registries when giving gifts, like Christmas or birhtdyas, so it might be helpful to have something on them before those times...
  2. Hey Quelicious! Invites should usually go out about 6-8 weeks before your wedding. But I would have to send sooner, cuz I am impatient like that. I would register whenever you want, not sure if there are rules. But you have to keep in mind that alot of items are seasonal, so you would have to go back and make sure if things went out of stock to replace with something else. Personally, I would register soon, but we hated it. It was so annoying. We fought about it alot, cuz I think that he should have some input, so that when the house is all put together, he can feel like it all belongs to him as well. But he hates shopping, so it was not fun for us. I have heard other couples have fun with it though. Keep in mind that things look different in person then online too. We did our initial registries in person, then I updated, changed, deleted things ALOT online. But I say to do it now, so you guys can take your time and do it slowly and not feel too rushed.
  3. I love your dress! It's so flattering. I love my dress to pieces, but I hate it from behind, so I love that your's looks great from behind.
  4. Nikki - sounds fishy to me! But so happy that your bag was found!!
  5. Edna, I am so sorry you are dealing with all of this. I agree with what has been said above, time apart isn't necessarily a bad thing. I hope he finds his way back to you.
  6. I love PB on apples, YUM! I can't stand even the look of mayo, so I can't say that I would ever try this and think it could be good. I used to eat PB and butter sandwiches every day when I was in elementary school. My mom said she used to feel like my school might think she was abusing me, cuz every day, I wanted peanut butter and butter with a thermos of water. Nothing else would do.
  7. I love it! Don't tell me you didn't take pictures, we have to wait 9 long months? Damn. Great choice on dress though!
  8. Omg, I could never keep that a secret for so long! I understand what you mean though by keeping it to yourselves. Quote: Originally Posted by beachbride08 I'm sticking with FI for now. 9. Yay, so exciting! Only he's your HUSBAND now, not your FI!!! It's hard to remember that, isn't it.
  10. Oh, there were lots of things. Yup, like a month or two before, he wanted to turn the AHR into a big ceremony, then he told me I misunderstood him. Then 2 weeks before, his fam said they wanted a pre-nup to protect their business (we are going to do a post-nup in a few months, when we have more time), now they want a priest to be there and do a ceremony. I am like, whateverrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  11. Yeah, we started off as a super-casual backyard thing. Had turned into a full fledged reception with just under 300 guests and now MIL wants to have a priest come in and do a ceremony! Ummmm, that's why we got married in Jamaica, cuz we wnated something simple. I've just been avoiding that conversation. I told Matt if he wants it he can plan it and I don't want to know anything about it or have to do anything with it, cuz it's so damn last minute.
  12. OMG, I totally feel your pain. I wish I could cancel, I am so "over" all this wedding stuff. I don't care about the seating chart, or the seating arrangements, or the damn cake box. I want to go house-shopping in my free time, not make bamboo favors! But I am like you, and I know that it will be fun while it's happening and i will be glad I did it, now I just wish it was over.
  13. Yay! I love your "review", so much drama but you are so happy it makes me happy! I love the picture with the bubbles, it looks like it belongs in a magazine or something. I also love your reception dress, like I want it! You looked awesome and I am so glad that you are finally married to your best friend.
  14. Wow, Jenn, that is awful. His Dad just fired him like that? With no support or warning? That seems insane. Were their previous work problems? I don't even know what to say. I can empathize with the work expericne though, I only went to a few years of college and never graduated. I make pretty good money where i am but I've been here for 11 years. If I leave I am screwed, cuz they won't know how experienced I am. So I can totally understand his fear there. I wish there was something I could do.
  15. Dude I just typed a response and it went away like, the page reloaded for no reason... Anyway, I had typed something like, have you checked by the copier/printer, in your recycle bin, in the trashcan, in the kitchen and bathroom? I loose stuff all over sometimes! Your car and your bags? Have no fear, they HAVE to turn up!
  16. I don't have a pic of my wedding cake in Jamaica, but here is the closest to it - I just spoke to our bakery for the AHR and I chose this cake from their website, but requested that she color the icing a light blue -
  17. Ummm, can I be a guest at your wedding? That's awesome that you can give each guest a Tiffany's gift! So generous. Oh and i am totally stealing your hair inspiration for my AHR next weekend!
  18. I beleive it has to do with number of posts, but I don't recall the exact number. Just participate in the forum (you have to give as well as take), and your status will change in no time at all!
  19. I stapled mine. But they were also in a folder jacket, which would keep them together. I would test them out a few different ways to find what you liked best. Good luck!
  20. Damn, Jac, that sounds like he sucks. Our real estate agent, Dino (you know him), is pretty good. We talk to him every few days about houses that we like or didn't like. He set us up on his website to email us any houses within a specific criteria daily. (You can do this yourself too, at places like www.kellerwilliams.com, REALTOR.com - Real Estate Listings & Homes For Sale, and oh crap I can't remember the others!) But it doesn't sound like he was that interested in helping you guys out, that really sucks.
  21. It doesn't have to be for the guy too, this gift is about the girl for me. Since we've been friends for almost 20 years, and I've only known him while they were together. This is just about me giving a gift to her. Since Jac, got engaged near Christmas, I got her a personalized Christmas ornament, it was cute! But it's a bit far from Christmas to do that. Or is it? Perhaps I will just do that!
  22. One of my close friends just got engaged and I want to get her a little something special, but can't think of anything! A friend of mine bought me a really cute manicure set when I got engaged. It came in a handy little hard and clear carry case, and it had the nail clippers, toe clippers, side-nail clippers, lotions, creams, files and a few nail polishes in it. I searched ALL frigging over this past week to find something like that, cuz I use it all the time, but found nothing anywhere! Not even Ulta, Sally's, Macy's, Claire's, Boscovs, Bath & Bodyworks, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc. Anyone have any other really cute ideas? Anything that you received that came in handy? Anything that you didn't get and wish you had?
  23. Jaime, that is awesome news!! Don't you love it when family comes thru at unexpected times to help you out?
