this is fun...
We live in Port Angeles, which is about 2.5 hours west of Seattle. We just made the big move in December or 06' after running in the rat race in the city for many years......It is absolutely gorgeous here, & we LOVE it! They say we live "where the mountains meet the sea"
About Port Angeles:
Quietly nestled between the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains, Port Angeles is located in Clallam County on the North Olympic Peninsula of Washington State - U.S.A.
Fun facts:
The area's harbor was dubbed Puerto de Nuestra Señora de los Angeles (Port of Our Lady of the Angels) by Spanish explorer Francisco de Eliza in 1791, but by the mid-1800s the name had been shortened and partially anglicized to its current form.
Port Angeles is located in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, which means the city gets significantly less rain than other areas of western Washington. The average annual precipitation total is approximately 25 inches, compared to Seattle's 38 inches
We love our little neighborhood too....It's on a dead end street and we have Deers and their new spring babies coming over to our yard almost daily for a lovely salad bar of our lilac buds and flowers.
