  1. It seems Dreams Tulum is much less expensive...here is a list of items to create your own package. Even the DJ is cheaper! DREAMS_CUSTOMIZED_WEDDINGS[1].pdf
  2. Oh ya, I remember reading that...couldn't we end the dinner at 8:30 then rent out the disco for an hour or hour and a half? How much is it then? Is there a per person charge?
  3. What do you mean after 8:30? You mean just for drinks? I hate that the gazebo is by the pool at the Riu.
  4. I now one in Austin that might be willing to travel to Cabo.
  5. I don't really care for red meat, so I eat tons of chicken. I don't like seafood either, unless you count fried shrimp, but that kinda defeats the point! I am starving right now...probably because I am up 2 hours later than I should be!
  6. I just try to think of it as changing my eating habits not really a "diet." I psych myself out like this and it works for me. The first couple of days it is the hardest...after a while I don't even crave bread (which I LOVE) or potatoes. I dont care for pasta, so that's good. I plan to start working out next month when I am on vacation.
  7. Just wonder if anyone else is watching their carb intake? I low carb'd a few years ago and lost about 40 pounds....since FI and have been together I have gained all that back plus more. So...I started low carbing again today! 15 months to go!
  8. Hey! I have been going back and forth between Riu and Dreams. I was leaning more towards Dreams, but then I started figuring out our budget and I think Dreams is gonna cost more than the $10,000 we had budgeted. Why can't they just move the Dreams Gazebo to the Riu for me? Just for one day?!
  9. This decision gets harder every single day. Another reason we were leaning more towards the Riu was because there seemed to be a lot more things that were included in the AI. Water sports and such. I think I need to really weight our options here!
  10. So, if I get married when the pool is still open, everyone that is in the pool will be watching? eek! That would be so loud....
  11. We are staying at an AI, so we are planning on bringing at least $1,000 to spend on excursions and whatnot.
  12. That's a crazy story about the Sol photographer! That poor bride! I am sure the photographer is better off not doing business there anyhow! The rooms (and air) were booked with a TA. Although I am not sure if they had a room block. I will find out though...
  13. A good friend of mine just got married there this past Friday. Well....half of her guests had to stay at a different location, 30 min. away, at the Sandos because they overbooked by 45 rooms. The bride was SO sad and upset because all her friends and half her family were so far away. The hotel was VERY rude and acted like it was THE GUESTS fault! The tried negotiating for FIVE hours...no luck! They said the wedding itself was ok but the mother of the bride was 15 minutes late because they were trying to get her a ride from Sandos to Gran Porto Real and the WC was mad trying to tell them they had to start right then WITHOUT the mother of the bride. She eventually gave in and waited for the mother to get there but was rude and unprofessional.
  14. I do not have any songs downloaded yet, but these are the types of music we want. Ceremony: We are getting a harpist. Cocktail hour: Soft music...ie: Natalie Merchant, Sara McLaughlin, Cranberries, probably some Depeche Mode. You get the idea. Dinner: All jazz. Sinatra (My FI's FAVORITE), Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, you get the idea. First Dance: "By Your Side" Sade Father-Bride Dance: Well, our dance at me first wedding was "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton. MY dad LOVES Clapton, but I don't think itwould be a good idea to play the same song at this wedding. I think "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. Mother-Groom Dance: He hasn't decided. We are going to start taking dance lessons when we move to San Antonio this summer so FI and I will also have a cheesy dance to something jazzy sometime during the reception. Reception: Tons of old school 80's and 90's.
  15. oh! And if that is you in the Demetrios thread, you are so not fat!!!
  16. That's beautiful! Have you ever tried it on? If not, you are brave! I could never buy something without trying it on...I don't ever buy clothes online or from a catalog. I am a freak that way. It's beautiful! Do it!
  17. You look absolutely stunning. Those are great pictures!
  18. I REALLY love all 4 of these. I think #1 is first choice at the moment...so many decisions!!!
  19. I love the gazebo at Dreams but, Riu is more in our budget and it just looks more fun. I am torn....
  20. Why did you pick one over the other? We are trying to decide here...ugh!
