I definitely think it was for the Baja 1000. There were so many people in CSL and/or trying to get to CSL. We were stuck in traffic for an hour on Wednesday from the corridor trying to get to Edith's! They were great fireworks though!

Cannot wait to see pics, but I'm being very patient and haven't even asked our photog yet. Her name is Ginger Russell out of Santa Fe, NM. They weren't our fireworks! But we loved them anyway! That was Thursday, right?! I kept saying, I wonder if these are Bridget's or Jessica's! I think they were for the Baja 1000? Didn't mean to hijak...Sorry!

Ditto everything Janet said. I just got married a few weeks ago, and when the sun starts to set, it's gone in an instant. But that sunset sure makes for some fabulous photos!

Fogdog's Sheraton Hacienda del Mar (Cabo) Wedding Review
jak27 replied to fogdog's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Great review Bridget! I'm sorry you had such a terrible situation with Sheraton management, but it sounds like it was all worth it with such a beautiful and perfect wedding day. And you totally had me rolling on the floor with the Cartoonish Bouts! Love it. At least you can look back and laugh at it! I pictured these bouts that were bright primary colors, about to spray water on you! That would have been really bad. Anyway, just wanted to say that I'm so glad it all turned out beautifully! I'm so happy for you! -
Jessica, just wanted to pop in and say that I'm so happy your wedding turned out so beautifully! And I love your TTD pictures, cannot wait to see Juan's! Great review, so detailed for future Cabo brides. I feel like I was there!

Congratulations! Take a second and savour every minute because it goes by so fast!!! And then, of course, post pics as soon as you return!

Kate, I purchased a handheld steamer from Bed Bath & Beyond for our wedding, and it worked out great. I actually didn't need to use it for my dress, but used it for all of my outfits, etc. Totally a great purchase and will use again!

Hair Extensions - Help!
jak27 replied to Cherie's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Ug, I just wrote a really long detailed post and the forum froze up! So here I'm going to try again! Sorry it's taken me so long to post, but I just uploaded all of my pics. I have shoulder-length hair and it's very thick. I purchased Raquel Welch extension for $250, and they are real hair so they can be colored, cut, etc. I wore them for about 8 hours that day, and had a slight headache by the end of the day, but tolerable. They are super simple to use, and I'll definitely be using them again after the wedding. I can put them in myself, and taking them out is a breeze. My stylist put them all over my head, from the temples and a bit lower. She didn't use the singles, but that's probably b/c I have so much hair already! Hope this helps! Here's a pic of my normal hair: Here's what the RW extensions look like in the package: And out of the package, there are a lot more than this, but I just took a few out to show you. The silver are combs that snap into place. Here's me with a rockin' ponytail: And me with what my hair will look like for the wedding: -
Sorry I don’t have any pictures of the ceremony setup, but it’ll be like this: dark wooden benches and a coconut colored aisle runner. Shephard’s hooks with globes lining the aisle with turquoise and lime ribbon hanging down. Chocolate brown chuppah with white fabric. Very simple since it’s so quick! Wedding favors: custom cookies from Cutie Pie Cookie with a picture of the bride & groom pinatas used at a shower thrown for us, with “Happily Ever After†in Spanish. I don’t have a picture of the guest book, since I already took it to Cabo, but it’s a coffee table book that our guests will sign in. Ok, I should stop now, but it’s all just so fun. Thank you all for your inspiration, help, words of wisdom, etc. Without BDW there is no way my wedding would be as planned and cohesive as it is. I got so many ideas from this forum that I had to stop reading sometimes, b/c I would want to do it all!

Rehearsal Dinner Invitation at Mi Casa Wedding gown. Terrible pictures, I don’t think I look that fat in real life! My veil is floor-length, diamond white with the edge seared (so it has that little edge on it). Wedding Shoes Wedding Bands. FI’s is palladium and brushed on the main part w/ a polished beveled edge. Mine matches my engagement ring, but is one row of pave using the same size melee. Hair. My stylist at home helped me come up with a simple style that can be recreated and will look nice with the veil all night. I’m keeping that veil on all night, it makes me feel like a bride! Bouquet. Without the shells & starfish, I’m not a shell-type gal. But I will have The Starfish from BDW in it. Yay! Color Scheme for reception. Alternating tables of turquoise and lime green, both round and rectangular tables, low rounds and tall (bar height) rectangular. Pewter charges and napkin rings. Opposite glassware. On the low, round tables, these hanging lanterns will be the centerpieces with some white flowers. Lounge decor for ballroom/dancing/lounge. Highback couches placed around the walls of the room, matching & similar pie shaped pieces and couches. Light up coffee tables, white throw pillows with blue & green fabric, and uplighting.

Ok ladies, I promised I would get all of this posted before I leave. I have done such a good job pre-packing, using the packing guidelines on this forum, etc that I’m ahead of schedule! HOORAY! So here goes, here’s all of our wedding stuff that I have at the moment. Obviously, I’ll share all of the pictures I can when we get back! Wedding Location: Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos Events: Before guests arrive, Family Dinner: Edith’s First group event: Tequila Tasting & Taco Bar at the Imperial Suite Rehearsal Dinner: Mi Casa downtown CSL Ceremony, Cocktails, Reception & Dancing Engagement ring (I’m obsessed with it!) Save the Dates Wedding Invitations Fun Packet we sent out to everyone attending, with a travel booklet, custom luggage tag (my dad took the picture over Christmas last year in Cabo), and our perfect Margarita recipe. Coolers for the OOT bags (love them!) Goodies for the OOT bags: pash, mints, Purell, Crystal Light, First Aid Kit, Chaser packet (ha!), aloe, koozies, Herban Essentials hand wipes, Miss Manicure emery boards, Pepto, Advil, Immodium, sudoku books from OTC. We'll also add bottled water, some snacks, mini tequila and margaritas once we get to Cabo. Custom Maps by Couture Maps. I totally love the way they came out. The map is pink the other side is lime green. They’re more keepsake maps rather than for directions, but I still think they’re adorable! Special bags for our close friends (we’re not having a wedding party, but are still treating them as if we were): will be stuffed with good tequila for the guys, gossip magazines, shot glass, maybe a cigar, and a note from FI & I. Big bag for the girls, smaller bag for the guys. Our stationary from iomoi.com which I love, for thank-yous. We mixed four patterns so it wasn’t all the same, and didn’t include last names so I could use for gifts we have already received.

My sincerest thanks to all of you at BDW
jak27 replied to Jtds2713's topic in CONGRATS & Shout outs!!
Hooray Jessica! I can't wait to see how it all comes together! Best of luck and maybe we'll run into each other! -
Just a heads-up, I placed an order a month ago, opened it (it was supposed to be 10 packages of sudoku books for my OOT bags), of course didn't count how many were in the box and put it aside in my wedding area until tonight. I open it up to start packing and I only received 7 of 10 packages I ordered. And the invoice said 9 of 10 were shipped... So make sure and inventory whatever you order from OTC the minute you receive it, because they owed me $13 in items I didn't receive. On another note, the customer service lady was very nice and apologetic, so she made up for it...now I just have to go find 10 more sudoku books at the $1 Store!
