  1. Jaime, Just to throw something in this as well, but the weather is different from Cabo to Cancun. You get the cool evenings in Cabo b/c it's on the Pacific side, and Cancun typically stays warmer due to the Atlantic. Not a huge deal depending on the time of year, but I was shocked the first time I went to Cabo b/c I had been to Cancun several times prior...it can get chilly! Also, from DFW, it's a 2.5hour flight to Cabo on AA direct. Continental, Delta, Frontier, Alaska, US Airways all fly to Cabo as well (for your guests). I've been to both locations before (high school to Cancun, and the rest of my years in Cabo). Feel free to PM if you need help. I find Cancun much more party-style atmosphere, and Cabo much more laid-back, depending on where you are, of course. But Cabo is significantly more expensive (traveling, food, everything) but IMO, totally worth it. It is beautiful...!
  2. Totally forgot an all-time favorite, Lips Like Sugar (Echo & the Bunnymen). Love it! Makes me sing every time.

You buy the photographs and hold rights to use them...although I'm sure your contract specifically excludes commerical reproduction. However, your photographer also probably retained certain rights to use the photographs as well, for commerical purposes (marketing, etc). So once you buy the rights to the pictures, you should be able to reproduce them for personal use.
  4. Welcome to the forum! Can't wait to hear all about it!
  5. We were almost going to hire an 80's cover band for our reception! What a hoot! Still haven't given up on the idea though... But to answer your question, anything by The Cure!
  6. Hooray! I cannot wait to hear all about it! You have been such a phenomenal resource, I know your wedding will just be fabulous!
  7. Absolutely! They get packed, even though the place is huge! And they have some fun little gift things...we came home with two paintings after a few margaritas, but I love them!
  8. Ohmy I love it! Even my fiance loved it!!!
  9. It's fabulous! See my post: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t4669 Can't wait to go back!
  10. I think it's the light reflecting off that beautiful green...either way, I love them! Could just be my eyes playing tricks on me too...staring at the computer too long!
  11. Ok, so I looked at the picture Tammy posted, and can't tell. Do the pashminas have a pattern to them? Or was that the light reflecting? Just curious! I'm super early, so I'll wait until the next round and hopefully do them then!
  12. Welcome Back! Can't wait to hear all about it, and see pictures!
  13. Do you allow for outside food or beverage to be brought in for the reception? If so, what are your corkage fees, if any? Do you offer activities, entertainment for children? Will I be designated to one person at your resort, or will I eventually be transferred to the food & beverage manager or will the WC handle everything?
  14. Will there be other weddings scheduled for my wedding day? If so, how closely do you book weddings to each other? How much time do I/WC have for set up for the ceremony? How much time do I/WC have for the take-down? Will you offer a comped site visit for the bride & groom and his/her parents? Do you have references of previous brides that I may contact? What time is entertainment required to fininish? Is there an alternate location to extend entertainment? I'll keep thinking!

    New BTB here

Welcome, you will love it here! And the brides on here are so helpful, they can totally help you plan in no time at all. Piece of cake!
  16. Angela, that was a great review. Thanks for the information!

I would absolutley get a mani & pedi, but make sure you do it all early enough so your nails aren't tacky closer to the wedding time, or when you put on your dress! But might as well! Could you use it for a massage too, b/c I would jump on that...relaxing!
  18. Just a note about the Nu-Bra, if you wear it for an extended period of time, it starts to itch! I have worn it for a day and then into night, and by the end of the evening, it's itching like crazy on the sides, just the outside where the sticky starts to pull away. But I love it! I have both the original and the light, but the light runs a bit bigger, so it's too big for me (too wide) so it can be seen more than the original if you're going to wear it with lighter fabrics. I bought mine at Neiman's, but you can get them at department stores, online, etc. And it stays sticky for like 100 wears or something!
  19. Have a great time! I can't wait to hear all about it!
  20. Ohmygosh we are wedding date buddies! Hooray! We don't have the Imperial Suite though...so there's a third wedding that day, wish I had known, but oh well! We need music past 10pm anyway, so I'm happy with what we have. So I talked with Tara Null for an hour last night! I was so impressed! She made me feel so much better, she definitely has good opinions and ideas, as well as great contacts. But it also made me feel better to know that a lot of what I had found on this website is really reliable! So that made me feel good too! Am waiting on a proposal of services from her, which I should get this evening or tomorrow morning, so I haven't hired her yet...waiting to see that bill! I'm sure it won't be cheap!
  21. Since I'm so nervous about making sure it's all official and legal (even though I went to law school!) I am going to hire someone. I don't feel that Daniela at FA can arrange it for me, and I know she'll put a premium on it if she does...so I'm holding out for the best coordinator for the job. Let us know how it works though, we just decided to switch to a legal ceremony in Mexico so I'm a little frantic, but glad we're doing it... No more complaints from my Dad about paying all this money for a Fake Wedding!
  22. Great information! I need to get on the ball and make sure we'll be legit too! Thanks for posting!
  23. I just made contact with Tara Null and am expecting a phone call from her any minute now! I am hoping to use their services as a consultant for my event coordinator here in Texas, and then have them arrange the ceremony logistics as well. I'll keep you informed about how it goes! I'm so excited though, because I've read such good things about them!
