We just had this discussion yesterday since we're honeymooning in Belize and wasn't sure how Dean hit the area. My dad looks at me and says, "You bought travel insurance and wedding insurance, didn't you?" Um, no dad, you were going to buy it, remember, and you didn't... UG! I'm not too worried about it, since our wedding is in November, and traveling should be fine. But Jen, you make a good point, general wedding insurance is a great idea...now I just need to look into that. Any suggestions?

That being said, we are having custom coozies made and will give each guest one at our welcome/rehearsal dinner. KM, the FA quoted us $3 for the delivery of the bags, too. Which is just annoying. And they won't hand them out at check-in and they warned that if we get the room list of all of our guests and hang the bags on everyone's doors that they can't obviously guarantee that they won't get stolen! So annoying! And of course they won't let us put them in the rooms since that's a total privacy/liablity so I'm really annoyed! I think we're just going to suck it up and pay the $3 delivery per bag, and just make sure and put the room numbers on them. For example, if I have two friends sharing a room, they should get two bags, but for a couple, they only need one. I wish there was a way to control this!!!!! Let me know if you figure out another way to have them delivered, besides having someone man the lobby and hand them out as they arrive!

Customs isn't a big deal at all, and if you get red first, leave the majority of your bags for your FI to go through, and he'll get green. But to pack, make sure and divide up all of your stuff among all of your bags. For example, I just shipped some pashminas to my WC who was in Austin, and she is going to divide them up between her luggage so they don't see 50 pashminas, instead they see a few mixed in with her clothes etc. All customs is looking for are items for resale...so if it has your logo or something wedding-related on it, you're fine, but for example, with my travel pepto & tylenol, etc I'm going to divide it all up among bags. It's a pain, but I don't want to worry about it when we land!

A friend of mine who had also been a 2nd time bride took me aside a week before the wedding and told me that everything I was feeling was so normal and that she could tell how much I loved Jay and how much he loved me. She said..don't worry..it will get worse and that she was a wreck when she got married but felt wonderful after. So here I am thinking "Great...I am going to be a nut on my wedding day and will need a bottle of booze...ugh" Jay and I had separate rooms the night before. I cried because I didn't want to be a loon on my wedding day. I must have prayed for like an hour asking God to please remove the looniness from me. I wanted Jay to have an excited happy bride not a nut. Then I fell asleep. I woke to the sun shining and just feeling so happy and calm. I had this feeling like I've never had in my life...absolute peace and certainy. It felt like my heart was wrapped in cashmere. I took little delays and mishaps in stride. I joked with everyone....had one cig and 2 mimmosas. I practically sprinted down the aisle because i just couldn't wait to marry Jay. The ceremony seemed to take forver even though it was just 15 minutes. I just wanted to be married and once we could kiss, I couldn't stop kissing my husband. This was the best moment of my life. That was beautifully written and just so sincere. Thanks for sharing, you just made me tear up at work!

But I still want people to like them enough to reuse in the future if they want! I would be thrilled as a guest to get a collapsible cooler filled with all sorts of stuff, so fun, so I'm probably just over-analyizng it like always!

Welcome! You will love it here!

I would not be amused. Especially after receiving what is obvioulsy a cut & paste marketing blip aimed at probably everyone he knows. I don't know anything about myspace, but I guess Deny it all!

Ok, here is the current version of our idea for the coolers. Our coolers will be white, with turquoise text. The entire image won't be larger than 5x4, so it's pretty small-ish. And FI wants the image to be circular in nature, since the cooler is rectangular and he likes that contrast (who knew he had such opinions!?!?!) Sorry I can't post the pic, but have to attach since it's a pdf. Names too big? What do yall think Cooler7 smaller names.pdf

Should I send invitations to.....
jak27 replied to royfa's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Oh, and I guess I didn't realize that some people put RSVPs on their Save the Dates, which changes things a bit. I guess if you've already "technically" RSVPed "no" it would be awkward to get another invitation. Didn't even think about that one! Our Save the Dates just asked people to put the date on their calendar and didn't have a committment requirement. I thought yall were talking about people saying "no" by just telling you in conversation or something informal. Totally different situation! -

I think it's pretty much like this: you should just have a final guest list and those people all get the Save the Date and the official invitation, no matter what. I think if you don't send them an invitation, it makes them feel bad that they're not attending. Plus some people really want to attend, and would feel left out. And some people just like changing their minds! I say, stick with etiquette, shell out the extra $$ and send everyone on your guest list the invitation. -

Ohmygoodness what incredible work that guy went through. And totally unique, and totally appropriate for the couple. That gave me chills. So very cool. -
Yeah, Ann I hear ya. I'm totally not into having our names on everything. The koozies are really cute, but for a cooler, I would prefer that our guests like it enough to reuse. FI thinks that if we do our coral on it with Los Cabos or something, that it looks like a generic cooler from Cabo, like a tshirt or something you can pick up at the shops. I know Melissa did some and they were darling, so who knows what we'll end up with. Oh well. I'll keep yall posted on who wins this one!

Ok ladies, Has anyone gotten married and used the collapsible coolers as your OOT bag? My FI loves the idea of the cooler, and I think it's adorable, but I'm having issues putting our name on it, if we're really spending the $$ for our guests, I want them to use it in the future. We already have koozies w/ our names, so I think this is overkill. Any thoughts? Did you do coolers, and did your guests use them, or do they use them now? HELP!

Michelle, when we take a cab, it's generally $20 to Cabo + $5 tip. We always plan on having $50 in cash for the rides... And here's a tip, we take down $2 bills instead of $1 bills, which cuts the stack in half and they love the $2 bills down there! Just a little tip!
