How do you clean your ring?

How do you clean your ring?
jak27 replied to rodent's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Most jewelers discourage cleaning a ring often only due to the fact that you might discover that the stones weren't properly set (as I described above). Basically, if the ring is made properly, you can clean your ring as often as possible. I joined a forum during the time we were looking at diamonds, and ring cleaning is a big debate, and most experts agree it's ok to clean if it's made & set properly. I did extensive research on my ring and how to clean it after we had it made, and I feel very comfortable with the quality. Pave is difficult to set, and sometimes even just a small piece of dirt can be what's between losing a stone and one that is properly set. So, I would rather have my ring clean and sparkly all the time, and risk losing a stone in my ultrasonic cleaner, rather than losing it on the street. Because, if a stone is loose, it'll come out eventually. But jewelers do use steamers, but they are high powered, and not recommended for home use. But I would also suggest having your ring checked every six months by a reputable jeweler, who can tell if you have any stones that are loose, etc. That will help with gauging how to clean it! But there's nothing wrong with a little soap and water everyday either! I hate it when mine has smudges! -

I bought an ultrasonic cleaner from Sharper Image off of ebay that is awesome. But be careful if you have any kind of pave...if the stones are not set properly, they can loosen and fall out! But it does a hell of a job! When I just want to give it a good scrubbing, I use a baby toothbrush, some ammonia or Mr. Clean and some gentle soap. Looks like new again! But I'm obsessed, and clean mine at least 3x a week...I hate when it looks dirty! -
Karen, FI & I went on a ravioli kick a while ago and used the wonton wrappers. It's so fun! We basically would use whatever is in the fridge, goat cheese & basil with proscuitto, for example, or you can do southwest with some green chile or chipotle in adobo with shredded chicken, but it's so easy and no matter what, it alwasy tastes delicious! I think with a light ravioli made from wonton wrappers, it doens't need a heavy sauce, so I usually just finish with an infused olive oil. Let us know what you go with, and of course, the recipe! Yum!

Perfect pictures...love them! My fave is the aerial shot above the rocks...that's what I love about Cabo, the rocks! Thanks for sharing, but you know we want more! -
How about: We look forward to celebrating with you!

I have heard great things about both Suzanne Morel and Hive Spa. I am using MexSun, which I haven't read much about, but I'll be sure to review after the wedding for future Los Cabos brides! Let us know what you decide!

I'm using FLC as a supplement to my evnet planner I have in Texas. I have only dealt with Tara directly, so I'm not much help with the Amy concern? But I can tell you Tara is very business-like and can be short, but I think she's just trying to cover all details. I know I email her probably on average 3-4 time a day, even when she was on vacation, and hear from her almost immediately. She has been out for a month, so the "9 leads" is probably just her way of trying to play catch up now that she's back. I would not hestiate, personally, to hire FLC, but I'm super picky, I want to know that who I'm using can create exactly what's in my head, that they have access to the types of vendors and design elements that I want, and I obviously want to make sure it all runs smoothly. Part of that stems from the fact that we'll probably have 150 people at our wedding, which can get crazy. But I also know so many brides have used Maye and had a great response from her. I contacted Maye and she was super helpful and very nice, so I don't think you can go wrong either way. If you want to discuss FLC directly with me, feel free to PM your questions/concerns.

Anyone have any home remedies for headaches or migraines?
jak27 replied to ~Melissa~'s topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
I used to get migraines a lot in college, and never could find the trigger for them. I ended up taking Maxalt for a while, but they subsided enough to not have to refill the prescription. I have read a lot about triggers and another common one is MSG, so I always make sure and request no MSG when we order chinese, etc. And cheese can be a trigger as well as alcohol. I usually can get by using Excedrin, but I try to stay away from it if I can...have read some things about it that just don't sit well. But I did notice that Excedrin migraine is nothing more than Excedrin + caffeine, so now I usually try to have a diet coke or something first to see if that helps with the swelling of the blood vessels and then treat if needed. Melissa, I might have to try the roll-on stuff though, it looks so cheesy though! Guess I'll have to apply it at work in the restroom so no one sees me! -

Oh, we looked at Little Dix also! It's all so beautiful! And Guana Island, but it was too small for our original guest list. Ok, sorry to hijak. Back to the original topic! -

Ok, I'm not help with what you're asking...but you're getting married in Tortola?!?! That is awesome! We looked at Peter Island and at Biras Creek for our weddings or honeymoon, and went to the Virgin Islands in February and just love it. I'm so jealous! I can't wait to see pictures!!! -

I do remember Mauricio didn't have a set figure, he just wanted something to hold the date! Mmmm Mi Casa! I guess we'll have to go back in September when we do our final site visit!

Thanks We chose Menu A which means our guests will be able to choose from the selected appetizers, dinners and desserts of that specific menu (we added flan & tres leches so there would be an option for dessert). Seems much easier to me than only having 2 to choose from, but that's just me.

For the Style Obsessed Bride
jak27 replied to MsShelley's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
What a great site! And what's really fun is to see the pictures that I've actually torn out of magazines and all and see them used in different inspiration boards. Very cool, totally gives me new ideas, which I don't need!!!! Thanks Shelley! -
Hi Andrea! So glad you got it all working! And, Welcome! Guys, Andrea is fabulous! She saw my post about needing Illustrator help, emailed me and offered to help, w/o even knowing me at all! And thanks to her, my coolers are going to be so cute! Yay!

Jen, I think 8 pounds is wonderful! That's a healthy 2 pounds a week, which is entirely maintainable! Keep it up and let us know how WW goes!

Ooooh, I like the chocolate against the white chairs, what a great contrast and would make for some beautiful pictures.
