I usually finished in the top 100 women in most of the races I did, doesn't sound impressive but when you have hundreds of people out for some of these races it wasn't so bad:) I had to slow down because I hurt my foot really badly and it hurts to run, I use to run through the pain but the older I get the harder it is to do that. I hate running my first 5 k then I find my stride and the further I run the better I feel. Karen do you have the running room where you are? If you do, or something like that ask what kind of running series are around your area, you may be surprised and find one close to you.

Feet dusters ???!!!
dragonfly replied to LEIGH's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I used this idea, I bought dollar store brushes in natural and stamped a starfish motive on the handle. I placed them in a tin bucket, in a ocean blue colour, and placed it by the edge of the beach where I also had a drink table set up for after the ceremony. I don't know if they went over well I was too busy, and I paid no attention to what everyone had on their feet during the ceremony, again I was focused on other things:) The brushes looked cute though. You could also dye the bristles ,if they are a natural bristle, that would be cute too. -
Yari I am happy all worked out, I thought it would. I do think flowers are necessary however!

Men can be morons so thats not worth stressing over, I am sure if he saw anything it has just made him more excited for the real thing. As for your mom, I am so sorry, don't stay mad at fh I really think you need him right now to help you get through this. I am sending positive thoughts your way.

Running use to be my drug of choice. I was obsessed and was running a 6 min mile. Running got me through my divorce, the death of my father and the heartache of Nicole. I don't know what I would do without running. I have had to slow down because of a foot injury, that I need surgery on and haven't found the time to have, so now I run to blow off steam and for some time alone. I do these races called the Great Candian Running Series, in Toronto. Starts off with a 5 k in April and ends with the 1/2 marathon in Sept. They are a series of races that build you up with each race, you have your 5k, 10k, then a fun party kegger 10 mile, another light 5 k, and the final race either the half or you can just do 5 k. They are so much fun, you get to know people and it is great running down the middle of the Gardier express way in downtown T.O with people yelling and honking at you.

help me pick my aisle petals
dragonfly replied to boscobel's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I think one colour is pretty. I like the tangerine, it will really show up on the sand. It's great your resort allows silk petals, our resort didn't but then again it hardly cost anything for flower petals at my resort. Good luck Carly. -
Well as a stay at home mom of 5, savings is something I have learned how to do very well. I shop by flyers, I make my lists based on what items are on sale that week. I don't shop at high end grocery stores, I stock up on items that are on sale on $1 days at our grocery stores. I only buy no name chips for the kids. I limit the budget on treats for school, and once they are gone the kids have to wait til shopping days for more. I buy no name tp for the kids( I get the good stuff) because they are wasteful. When we go out to dinner as a family we take advantage of midweek specials like buy 1 entre get 1 half price or 15cent wings. We go to musuems on special days some times they are free. I always bake birthday cakes (out of a box, lol) cost about 4 dollars as opposed to 20 dollars to buy one. when we go to the movies I bring a big purse and throw drinks and treats in it for the kids. We love the drive in, Sunday night 10 dollar car load, can't beat that for a family of 7. Every one in my family brings their lunch to school/work. I have energy saving light bulbs in kids rooms, basements, garage, and closets. We keep the heat low and at night we turn it down lower, programmable thermostats are great for saving money. All of our appliances are energy efficient, our hot water tank is also a new energy efficient tank, we also keep our water temp down. I have blankets and shawls in every room, if your cold in my house grab a blanket or a shawl, lol. I love $1 stores for kids craft/school projects, school supplies, and lot's of other stuff. I make all of my own cards on my computer, ton's of money saved doing this. We utilize the library for our reading material. We are advid readers and keeping us supplied in books was costing me a fortune. we also trade our books in after use to a second hand bookstore. I shop sale racks at places like the Gap, AE, ect. I also regift, I have a closet full of presents, and gift bags and tissue paper. I also buy many different toy items if they are a good price so that I always have a gift on hand for all of those b-day's Liam is always being invited to. I have so much more but this is most likely boring the majority of you. When you have a large family, you learn how to cut costs, it's a matter of survival in this cash hungry world. Oh I however can not save my change, I really try but it goes in the change jar at our front door, and it get's taken out just as quickly for all of those millions of school extra's that are always being thrown at us! We also recycle everything but that is for our enviroment . I don't know how that saves us anything, except maybe our compost for our garden's.

I think #2 fits your body really well it shows off your beautiful figure, #1 is really unique and looks really comfortable, and #3 you look very young and angelic. I am of no help to you, sorry but you are a pretty girl who looks great in everything. Did you get a excited feeling in one over another? That usually decides the direction you will go in.
-
I think you are beautiful, and you look beautiful in your dress. We only see the flaw that bothers us the most, others will only see a beautiful, happy bride.

He can't be mad at the person who is in 10 weeks going to give him the greatest gift of his life. And I am really sorry about the GD, take care of yourself:)
-
I am confused as to why this girl is still your friend? If I had a friend who talked trash about my husband, then this person is no longer going to be my friend, you don't have to like my husband but keep it to yourself, or expect our friendship to be over.
-
omg Rebecca I don't know how I missed this, but you got me:)
-
I think that that would look really simply beautiful. I can't imagine it would cost much. My single roses for my memory chairs cost under $10 each.

Wow Jen here already, have fun and take lot's of pictures, talk when you get back, hugs~

From what Cain told me, they are a very nice couple but they are just way over their head. Puppies are alot of work, add to the mix a two children under 2yrs old.. I guess I would be stressed too. Plus since the father isn't a dog lover and his child was bitten and got 2 stitches in the face from the puppy, I guess I you could see it coming. On the flip side, parents need to teach their children how to act around a puppy, I mean she put her head in the dogs crate and the puppy wanted to play the only way he knows how. Go figure. I have always had dogs with small children. My first two dogs Belle and Taxi I got when Timothy was 2. Echo I got when Liam was 3 &1/2 and the very first thing my children were taught was when the puppies, and even now as dogs, is in her crate she is off limits. The crate is the dogs safe haven and my children had to respect that. The other thing is the puppy and my children were not allowed to be alone with each other, not just for my kids safety but also for my dogs safety. Small children and puppies do what comes naturally to one another and that can equal disaster for either one if not properly supervised. People can be dumb when it comes to children and animals, they are both alot of work and you must know that going into it. Tammy I am so happy that the fostering thing has worked out for you in regards to the "vicious"hehe puppy. Have fun enjoying having a puppy in the house:)

Glenda well said, one of the things I love about being here is how wonderfully supportive we all are to each other. I have been to other forums where my time there was less then enjoyable. Let's all post with the intention that Tammy (host) had when starting this forum, to be a helpful source of information and a positive influence in the wedding experience of all of our members. In the words of Glenda I heart you all:)

alternative bachlorette party ideas?
dragonfly replied to boscobel's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
My girlfriend had a phychic party. We all drank wine, and had a reading, and we also had tarrot card and tea leave readings. It was alot of fun. This would also work well as a sleepover. -

Happy Birthday Jason, Have a great day and go get some birthday lovin from that beautiful wife of yours:) -
We were lucky with our dog that we have a great kennel that we use. We were gone for 2 weeks so we knew we couldn't just have someone come in feed her and walk her. Echo is never alone since I am home with her so I was worried about the length we would be away from her, but she was great. She was boarded on a big farm, and had lot's of freedom and my sisters dog, Echo's brother, was with her. They were kept in the same kennel together so they were happy dogs. Cheap however it was not, but hey whats a little more money when we were already spending so much:) Our cat Bronte however stayed home. We just had a friend come in everyday to feed her and give her a little lovin. She was really glad when we got home.
