Jaime-Lynn I don't know how I missed this thread, I am not being a very good dw mom to you now am I! I hope you are doing better, and I hope you are milking this for all it's worth, we must take advantage of the unfortunate incident's in life, it is the only silver lining to being in pain. You tell Martin I say he better be taking good care of you. I now get why you felt it was your job to entertain Tammy, I am not very quick am I! I was having an off week my kids were away with their dad for vacation, and now they are home, so all is right with the world yet again! I will check in with you soon... Kelly~ I changed my pic just for you!

So awhile back I posted that I was feeling overwhelmed with still had to be done, well I am slowly, but surely depleteing my list of to do's! I picked our rings up today, omg mine is so pretty, so much prettier then I imagined. The diamonds sparkle so much, Everton's ring is nice to but what can you say about a man's wedding band? I went for my first dress fitting today, not much needs to be done, just shortened, and I am having the crinelin (SP) taken out and made into a slip, so I can stay cool while dancing. Oh yeah I decided to keep the train, it's not a long one and everyone thought it was just prettier with it staying. My dress was a little tight in the boob area (still fits though), good area to be tight in if it has to be tight anywhere, I figure too much upper body weights so I think I will cut back. I finished my table favours, and place cards today, and I am almost done our welcome news letter, the menus, and our wedding timeline cards. Tomorrow is my shower, and our girls night out, should be fun, I will try and post pictures, I think I finally figured out how to. I still have a bunch of things left to do but at least I feel in control of things, except for my missing starfish boo hoo, I am starting to think I may actually be able to pull this off. LOL I posted a new picture with me in it, Jaime-Lynn, just for you! You can now stop guessing what I look like! Kelly~

Well girls my wedding is coming up quickly, I leave in 3 weeks, anyway the starfish I am suppose to receive is MIA maybe it's having too good a time in Mexico, and decided to set up house, settle down and have little starfish babies LOL. Anyway I am now on the search for a new starfish to buy. I am so afraid that it will not arrive in time for me to leave, but I am going to try. Now what I need from you girls is a site that will deliver quickly, remember I am in Canada, I also figure that if I have to order the starfish I may as well try to order the little memory bouquet frames for my dads picture, so I site that can provide both of these would be perfect! If anyone knows of any stores that may sell either of these items that would be great to, save the waiting and wondering time, I don't know where to start? A flower shop, bridal shop, cake shop? What do you think? Please help quickly, so we can keep the starfish in circulation, don't worry I will also make sure I have the journal to send along with the new starfish. Thanks girls, I hope to hear from lot's of you soon... Kelly~

Pro Wedding Pictures!
dragonfly replied to KARALANE's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
Oh you look so pretty, everything looked perfect, thankyou for sharing. Kelly~ -
My girls are throwing me a shower this Saturday night, I also didn't want a shower, but they insisted. We are only having my girlfriends, sister and sister in-laws, no grammas, or moms. They are throwing a personal shower with coctails and chocolate fondue. After the shower we are heading to the bars for some dancing, the guys are doing their thing on the same night , I would imagine their thing will consist of pool and naked women, and we will meet up later. I am leaving exactly 3 weeks later. I think before is good it would just feel odd to me to be married already and then have a shower. Kelly~

You don't have to have both doses before you leave you just must make sure you have at least one, and then get the other 6 months later, so you can still get it.

Catherine the ring is so not important, I am a 2 e-ring girl. Evertone proposed to me many many years ago, and since we had a baby on the way, and were trying to buy a bigger house he proposed with a inexpensive ring. I wore that ring with pride for over 5 years, both E and I also wore inexpensive silver bands to symbolize our comittment to one another. Now that we are more financially able Everton bought me the ring he always dreamed of buying me.Yes it is beautiful and sweet of him, but I would have married him regardless. Catherine I also understand why you want to get married, there is something about being married to the father of your child that is important, and feels right. It also I think is important to the children as they get older, to have mom and dad married to one another. I know our kids wanted this for us, it solidifies the relationship in the eyes of others, even if it was already solidified for the two of you, this gives children a sense of security. Talk to him and tell him the committment is what really matters, not the ring! Kelly~ Have you ever looked at estate sales, or pawn shops for rings? You can sometimes find really beautiful jewellery for next to nothing. My girlfriend had a ring appraised for over $5000.00 that she bought at a pawn shop for a thousand dollars, something to think about.....

I live a couple of hours from Niagara Falls, and have been to a few weddings there. Let me know if there is anything you need that I may be able to help you with. I love Niagara Falls it is so larger then life and beautiful. You might want to check out Niagara on the lake, it is sooo pretty, Everton and I try and get there a couple of times a year, it would be a great honeymoon spot. Another great after the wedding, or before the wedding outing might be to visit the vinyards, and have a great wine tour. What type of wedding are you planning? How many guests are you having? Niagara Falls is one of the few places that we are allowed to gamble in Canada, so let your guests know there is a great casino there. The touristy things are of course crazy expensive, so keep that in mind also. Oh yeah you picked the absolute perfect time of year for a wedding in Ontario! Kelly~

I was originally thinking my sisters but I dont know how the 3 of us would even fit down the aisle, It might look to funny when we have to turn sideways to actually get down the aisle part of it lol. If you really don't want to walk alone I think your sisters is a nice idea, I think you will totally fit down the isle, I've seen your pic LOL. Lots of people walk with both parents, and it looks nice. Another idea is why don't you get your fi to walk half way up the isle to meet you as you are coming down, it could be really romantic. I like the idea of the poem in a frame, I need my dad remembered, my favourite uncle, and Everton's younger sister, they all passed away in the past year. Maybe I will place a flower for each of them around the frame. I want a chair kept open at the ceremony for my dad, do you think people will find this strange? I am getting married during the week of the 1 year anniversary of my dad's death. I really needed to do this for me, my father was my best friend, and the person I loved most in the world (Everton, and my kids not included) I have had people tell me that I am crazy for choosing this date. Is everyone doing favors?

I might glue a little pink ribbon on it or something. I'm doing OOT bags, too, so people will still get goodies, but at all the weddings I've been going to lately, I saw so many favors left on the tables at the end of the night. It made me kinda sad that my friends probably spent time and money making a cute favor and so many people just leave them! So we thought this would be something nice to do. This is a wonderful idea! Everton and I have also purchased, blue writbands from the Canadian Cancer foundation, the bands say "Together Strong" all proceeds from the sale of these go to the Canadian cancer foundation. I am unsure if I am going to put these in the oot bags or place them at each place setting at the reception. Another idea is on everyone's chair at the ceremony, it would make everyone think of my dad for a moment and that might be nice. What do you guys think I should do? Kelly~ Oh yeah if you decide to do something like the silicone wristbands, please make sure you purchase them from the actual charity. Lot's of people sell these bands on ebay and on other sites, but the proceeds do not necessarily go to the charity you are hoping to help.
