  1. Hmm, can't figure out if that was me or the board. Let me try again.... Also, wanted to share that Jace, my fiance, was responsible for the jokes and crossword puzzle sections : ) He did a great job!! Here should be a pdf of our itinerary..... which again, unfortunately, is in InDesign Alright, sorry, I just tried again, and it won't let me upload it. If anyone wants it, just email or PM me.
  2. I think you can do that--although I haven't tried. I believe you can open Quark files through InDesign, so I'm hoping there is reverse utility.... send me an email at heathers at gmail and I'll send you the file to test. I'll post our itinerary now if the system will allow me this time....
  3. This is a great idea....unfortunately, I made all my stuff in Adobe InDesign, a program that I use for work, and most of you probably don't have that on your PCs. I'll attach a pdf of our welcome letter (its not letting me attach more right now) and if any of the info is helpful and you have InDesign, I'd be happy to share the original file. weddingnewsletter.pdf
  4. We're going to use Elizabeth Lloyd (also referred to as Beth Fladung) on here. She takes beautiful photos, has a unique style and vision and is flexible. ELIZABETH LLOYD - Photographer
  5. This is great--I hadn't thought of it, but its wonderful--thanks for doing all the legwork for me : )
  6. Thank you, girls. We ended up choosing the Melia based on us being down there for 13 days and needing a good deal : ) We're going to be doing a bit of hotel hopping--starting out at the Sheraton PV, then going to Guadalajara and then coming back to PV and staying at the Melia. Hopefully we'll be able to relax a bit--I know we'll have fun though! Thanks for the suggestions : )
  7. You are so lucky that you are going there for a site visit this weekend!! I wasn't able, but I'm happy to trust everyone else to give me good recommendations that were able!!! While I'm at it though, I wanted to pass on two other places that our coordinator recommended and her comments--just in case anyone wants some more options. Hope these help : ) *-SPIAGGIA- Spiaggia - Puerto Vallarta Beach Restaurant & Lounger Bar (Very nice and ocean view, they have a private area we could reserve and perhaps you can choose one menu for everyone, check it out!! Food is good, worth the price, also very close from Sheraton) *-OSCAR'S- RESTAURANT OSCAR'S - BREAKFAST · LUNCH · DINNER (This place is lovely and they have a live guitarist at nights, it is right after the bridge ending down town, it's not too close but I think it would be nice for people to go see that side and before or after walk down the malecon. I think you would like this place best, I don't why, it would be a good experience for everyone)
  8. Hi girls, We're having our rehearsal dinner at Barcelona Tapas--but, i just heard back today from El Arrayan--which, I believe was recommended to me by the Sheraton's coordinator. We didn't select them because they were revamping their menu and just got back to us today (although they let us know it would be a while) and we're getting married on Nov. 3, so we needed to secure something further in advance. Anyway, I wanted to post their new menus in case any of you wanted to consider. Their contact info is: [email protected] Good Luck : ) EL ARRAYAN_Grupos Menus invierno 07 & 08.doc
  9. We're looking at the Barcelo La Jolla and the Melia Puerto Vallarta all-inclusive hotels for our honeymoon..... But aren't sure which to go with. Anyone stayed at either or BOTH and want to weigh in? We'll appreciate all responses! Thanks : )
  10. That was so nice of you to find these for me--thanks : ) Better get started calling!!
  11. That would be great--if you are able. Thanks!! I just totally remember reading the post....perhaps I'm going crazy!!! I'll plan on asking our coordinator too...
  12. Hi ladies, I totally thought that I remembered reading about a salon that will come to your room and give manicures and pedicures to you and your bridal party. I thought I remembered seeing pricing and contact info too... However, when I search for it and look through the posts in this part of the forum, I can't find it!! Can someone send me the link to the convo....if it exists, or recommend a salon that might do this? Thanks!
  13. Oh my gosh--awesome! I'm sitting here two months before our wedding and I feel like there must be things I'm forgetting.....and there are--thanks for helping me figure them out!
  14. I was just thinking that.... Can't keep a dry eye now, its going to get messy on our wedding day!! But, good--tears of joy--messy : ) Thanks for sharing these really special, and personal, stories!
  15. We're doing one too.... Like most of you, I'm really not looking forward to it....I feel like a jerk because its important to my parents and Fiance, but our wedding is in November in Mexico, and right now, I'm worrying about the menu choices, guest lists and invites for this AHR in February. I feel like I'd just like to have one thing (our wedding!!!) to focus on : ) We're planning for around 150-200 (of mostly my parents friends and family). We are planning on a DJ and are going to have it on 2/16, so we're making it a valentine's theme to try and keep it informal. I like the idea of the slide show (did you all feel as though your guests enjoyed this and didn't feel "left out"). Also, I'm still kicking around the idea of whether a photographer is necessary. Did you have one at your event? And, lastly, how many of you wore your dress again--at least some of the time?
  16. I've really been wondering that too! Would love to hear what others have done. I checked for the previous posts, but only found two comments and wanted to hear more : ) We've got a hotel coordinator for the Sheraton that we are paying a separate fee for, and then the 15% service charge on top of taxes, so I was wondering if the separate coordinator fee was similar to a tip, and the "service charge" was to make sure the wait staff shared in the gratuity or not... I keep thinking that maybe I'll just get her a nice piece of jewelry to cover all my bases, but I wanted to see what you all did for wait staff, coordinators and photographers.... If you don't feel comfortable sharing on here, you can PM me or send me an email at heathers7 at gmail.com Thanks!
  17. Aah, that's awesome!! Its like "inside" information. thanks!!
  18. Beautiful. Natural. I love them! Thanks so much for sharing--I'm excited to have her for ours in November too Congratulations on these!!
  19. thank you thank you--I'm going to check out fleximusic. If you find out what one your friend uses as well, can you please share? We've decided to use the ipod too--although they aren't charging us $25 an hour--its like $90 an hour, but its better than the $1000 that they wanted to rent us a DJ for . SO much price gouging!! At least this way we can play all the music WE want! I can't testify to how it will all work, but we sent out an email to all of our guests for them to submit a song request and they are really getting into it. I know the DJ that we would have had wouldn't have been able to do that : ). I don't really want to play "who let the dogs out" for our wedding...but, my nephews are pretty into that song (4 of them, all under the age of 6) So, we'll take one for the team : )
  20. Thanks, Edna for the DJ info. When you sent it to me, I figured out that I had found this thread before and actually emailed him ([email protected]) already on Aug. 4....but never heard back If anyone else has a recommendation for a DJ under 600 bucks, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!
  21. I've nevers heard of these, but they look beautiful! Let us know if you get any good info : )
  22. I don't know how helpful this will be, but we are going to go with Los Veranos because it seems to have something for everyone (we've got little kids in our group and there's a petting zoo), the contact is very responsive (responds mostly the same day) and the discount they can offer for a group looks pretty decent. I've heard Vallarta Adventures was good too--but for those guests who might be a bit older or a bit younger, the Los Veranos tour seems like it will appease. Good luck!
  23. Ahh, that's no good, I'm sorry!! I emailed back and forth with her a while and she really seemed quite competent. I was deciding between the Westin and the Sheraton and picked the Sheraton only because they weren't as rigid (the westin charges an upcharge) with bringing in outside vendors or items (such as centerpieces, flowers, etc.). Bad day maybe? : ) Hope it gets better!!
  24. Yay, I'm glad to hear from someone who has used her. It seems like you two felt comfortable, so that is really going to help to get good pictures. I don't know how to post ANYTHING, so I feel your pain, but wish you luck because I want to see her work : ). Thanks and congrats on this step!
