Hi Bride2B2, First, big congrats on the upcoming wedding and on choosing a destination! May is a good weather month in Playa del Carmen and it's nice to have the longer days of daylight savings time. It is a busy time in Playa too, so you may want to take that into consideration. Starting the ceremony a little later in the day (5:30) may help you avoid too many people around AND allow you to get some nice sunset shots. We shot a pretty wedding there with Bev and Jordan and they chose the gazebo over the beach and it was nice to have a little added intimacy/privacy. The hotel should offer a champagne toast after the ceremony for your guests. Most all inclusives (like Sandos) have the receptions in the restaurant, though for a fee you could have them do a beach set up. I would also recommend setting a seating time of around 7:00 after a 5:30 ceremony to keep things moving along and active. Here are a few photos of weddings we have shot at Sandos Playacar. How about photographers who go and look for lost wedding rings in cenotes? Recently, one of our Trash the dress clients LOST their ring...it sat undiscovered for 2 days... Here is how I found it:
