  5. Hola Jessi, Wish I could help but these bouquets were made by the Resort's florists (Palace Resorts Mexico and the The Royal Playa del Carmen). My suggestion would be to gather pictures of what you like best and send them to your wedding coordinator, but keep in mind that flowers are seasonal so be open to ideas and get creative ; ) Good luck and best wishes!!
  6. Hola Ali, Congrats on your upcoming wedding!!! Here are a few of my favorite Sandos moments to help you dream about your big day and give you some ideas: For those of you planning a beach wedding, ask Lupita for the area by the Elite Papala and try to book your ceremony at least 1.5 hours prior to sunset. This will not only save you and your guests from mid-day heat and onlookers but will also give you perfect lighting conditions for your sunset portraits. Good luck with the planning and feel free to visit this link for more gorgeous wedding pictures at the Sandos Playacar: http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=640

  11. Hola Julie, Super excited for our upcoming shoot and loving your nice flowy dress!! I thought I should take the opportunity to offer a few tips: - Practice feeling comfortable underwater and holding your breath, maybe even opening your eyes underwater. This helps a lot!!!! You can either practice in your bath tub at home or in the swimming pool of your hotel. - Bring your veil and anything with a pop of color (lipstick, pedicure, bouquet??). Our latests mermaid brides have dared to swim with their heels, looks amazing underwater!!!!!!! - Get your hair and make-up done professionally (preferably waterproof) and bring a little make-up bag for retouches in between locations ; ) - Please ask your beau to wear linen, khaki, or cotton pants. A cotton shirt or button up will do. As long as its breaths and it's comfortable. Remember you will get wet - pink and black polka dot boxers under wet khaki linen pants are funny to some but not every one (just a tip!). - Please please please wear sunblock. Wear it the whole time you are here, but especially the day of your shoot. The sun's rays are very strong here and will burn unprotected skin quicker than you could ever imagine! - Bring towels, a plastic bag for your dress, and a change of clothes ; ) - Drink lots of bottled water, eat a healthy and hearty meal a few hours before, and get plenty of rest the night before your shoot - you're going to need all of the hydration, nourishment and energy you can muster to make this a great shoot! These sessions are all about having fun, enjoying each others love and getting creative. Can't wait!!!!
  12. Hola Grand Sirenis Brides, I noticed many of you had questions about locations in this property and I thought you might find these pictures helpful. Beach set-up: The Palapa Area: La Gira Rodizio - Brazilian Restaurant TIP: Don't let anyone talk you out of having your ceremony start time be anything but 1.5 hours prior to sunset. This will give you great light for your ceremony, and even better sunset light for your beach portraits!! They're dreamy and amazing! Remember that your day will be spectacular simply because of the love you surround yourself with, regardless of the details! Know that something in the plans may have a glitch so just plan enough to allow yourself to be stress free for your special day, but be flexible enough to let whatever happens, happen. Good luck with the planning and feel free to contact us or visit our website for more pictures and recommendations: http://www.delsolphotography.com/blog.
  13. del sol pics coming soon.... pretty awesome to see all the ideas come to life Congrats Kelly!
  14. Hola DT Brides, This hotel is an amazing location and one of favorite spots for Wedding Stories. I can say many things about this property but will focus on Ceremony Locations this time and a few tips and ideas to keep it short: 1. Don't let anyone talk you out of having your ceremony start time be anything but 1.5 hours prior to sunset. This will give you great light for your ceremony, and even better sunset light for your beach portraits!! Plus it will save your guests from terrible mid-day heat : ) 2. Dreams Tulum has a beautiful beach location that can accommodate practically any size of group. The Chapel is small and best suited for groups of 30 or less. 3. Remember that your day will be spectacular simply because of the love you surround yourself with, regardless of the details! Know that something in the plans may have a glitch - let's face it, what plans are ever flawless? Just plan enough to allow yourself to be stress free for your special day, but be flexible enough to let whatever happens, happen....... Want to see more pictures of this location?? Check out our website: http://www.delsolphotography.com/blog.
  15. Hola RPRM Ladies, I wanted to share some tips and ideas for your wedding in this spectacular location: 1. Wedding Location: Gazebo is definitely the most popular ceremony spot because of it's privacy and green surroundings. You might want to add a dash of color to the set-up...think: rose petals or colorful tropical umbrellas, fans and flowers. 2. You are getting married in Mexico so do consider having a Mariachi Band. Your guests will enjoy it and I'm sure you will too!!! 3. Don't let anyone talk you out of having your ceremony start time be anything but 1.5 hours prior to sunset!! This will save your guests from mid-day heat and give you great light for your ceremony, and even better sunset light for your beach portraits!! 4. Since this hotel works with set seating times for dinner (thus reception). Make sure you plan a cocktail hour in between. There is an area on the beach full of palm trees in front of the Chilli's Restaurant....great spot for a cocktail hour and maybe even first dances!! An extra fee may apply for this, just check with your wedding coordinator. 5. If you have a small group (less than 30), ask for the Mezzanine Section at the Chilli's Restaurant. It's private and ocean side : ) Couldn't get any better. If you would like to see more pictures, check out this slide show: http://delsolphotography.com/blog/post-1238/Alice-Ian-Wedding-at-Riu-Palace-Photos-by-Matt-Adock Last but not least, remember your day will be spectacular simply because of the love you surround yourself with, regardless of the details! Know that something in the plans may have a glitch - let's face it, what plans are ever flawless? Just plan enough to allow yourself to be stress free for your special day, but be flexible enough to let whatever happens, happen. Good luck in the planning and happy to answer your questions ; )
  16. The hotels change their policies like the direction of the wind, its always moving around and they have right to set policies on private property. I know we have personally covered events there last year, but really its all about politics and on site studios closing the door or having selective vendor lists where the photographers pay commission to the hotel and or on site photographers. Personally, being a guest of the hotel still always sounds like the way its done pulls rank a bunch with a lot of properties and management policies for a lot of my friends who travel the world in this business and who come here and visit us... good luck with your planning Thank you for your interest let us know if we can help you answer any other questions. saludos

  18. Hello Robyn, Welcome to the forum!! In our personal experience, we would recommend you to have your ceremony start time be 1.5 hours prior to sunset. This will give you great light for your ceremony, and even better sunset light for your beach portraits!! During this time of the year, our ceremonies typically begin between 5:30 - 6:00 PM. Here are a few pictures of your location, hope you enjoy them: For more pictures and ideas, please visit: http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=543 Suerte!!!
  19. Hola Ladies, Here are a few of our personal favorites (set-ups and ideas): Tip: Don't let anyone talk you out of having your ceremony start time be anything but 1.5 hours prior to sunset. This will give you great light for your ceremony, even better sunset light for your beach portraits and you'll be saving yourselves and your guests from the mid-day heat. Good luck in the planning process, and feel free to visit our Blog for more pictures, recommendations and ideas!!
  20. Thank you! Here is one of my favorites from another session, Jay proposed to his fiance on the beach in front of the hotel. It actually rained on them... so beautiful. I think the most valuable part of this slideshow is understanding the amazing surroundings / nature at Playacar Palace. This was a proposal / Trash the Dress For more pics, check out the slideshow: http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=525 Anybody that chooses this place will have an AMAZING location!! Happy planning
  21. I love this one Chelsea: Of course, there are 100 more i LOVE in the slideshow.
  22. At this time, our la Luna photographers have been promoted to the del Sol Photography side. All email info should go to info@delsolphotography. DOTcom Note that the email address had been adjusted here to protect from junk mail, so be sure fix that. Studio response is usually 24-48 hrs.
  23. I think that I must disagree with you about NYC photographers. One comes to my mind, she photographed my sister's wedding (susanstriplingblog.com) and actually my proposal to Sol Tamargo... She is about 6k - 10k depending on travel fees and albums... she lives in NYC. I could actually start a list of togs there if you would like, but that isnt going to really matter much. Fact is, we are booked, very booked and thus we must control the amount of shoots that we are doing in order to stay healthy and creative and fresh in our minds. How does the artist keep themselves from loosing their mind or taking on too many jobs???? With our business, we decided to hire specialists in each area to take on the work so that we could fine tune our products and elevate our customer service level and offer this amazing team of artists to our clients (vs hiring 1 tog). Most of the competition photographers are one person businesses, del Sol & La Luna has 5 full time employees that include a group of editors and a studio manager to answer your questions every day, usually within a 24 hr response time as well as a sales concierge to answer the phone side by side the studio manager. Folks really just don't understand that the level of hands on (5 artists contribute to the final edit) by the time the photos are delivered, thats huge. It allows us to stay organized and exceed expectations. In addition our team has 6 AMAZING photogs who I have personally trained. They use our gear, they shoot under our instruction and are reviewed weekly by studio manager or studio owners (me or sol). For other readers...a tip on hiring your photographer studio and using the BDWF resources: I think its fair to ask that you also spend 10 minutes and read the LEVEL OF DETAIL of satisfaction in del Sol reviews by past brides writing on this BDWF. Then spend 10 minutes and read through the reviews of whoever else your are considering. Compare the feeling you get after reading del Sol reviews vs the others... I'm amazed at the level of personalization and detail our brides give in our reviews and I'm sure you will be too amazed! Then, ask yourselves if the photographers you are considering have ever won any international awards or have been recognized for their service and product excellence? After you weigh the benefits and have viewed at least 10 full wedding slideshows of your photographer, you are certainly armed for a choice... We certainly hope brides are doing this research. We understand everybody has a budget to stick to, and that folks click one way vs another, but for those we do click with, its seriously a relationship ending with memories that will blow your mind... good luck with Mr lucky! He is a nice guy! matt
