  1. I want to do it. I kind of think it sounds like fun and could bring up some stuff that we hadn't thought about being married. But Joe, on the other hand, thinks it's a sign that I believe something is wrong. So we'll see! But I'm going to vote yes because I think we'll end up doing it.
  2. I voted #2. I think they are perfect for a DW! And I hardly think anyone, or you for that matter, will hear the shells clinking when you're walking down the isle. Everyone will be focused on your tiny waist and you'll be so oblivious to everything and everyone besides your hubby )

'Hmm, it must be good. I should check into it!'
  9. so did you ladies find that TAs gave you better rates than internet booking sites?
  10. I vote yes to both. Rose petals and chairs! I was at a wedding without chairs that was outside and EVERYONE complained about the lack of chairs. Plus it's more relaxing to sit and watch you get married rather than standing and wondering if it's acceptable to sit in the sand!
  11. It looks really nice!! I totally know what you mean about where to show up. Joe's attitude is "as long as there is a beach, you and me, we're covered" funny! So I think we're finally 99% decided on a resort - Gran Bahia. I think we just need to book and get it over with
  12. ahh yes i found the wedding bells forum that discusses Majestic Colonial. It was one of the main reasons I started searching other resorts. http://boards.weddingbells.ca/showfl...part=1#1551163 Things like this: "I agree. I really thought the experieince would be stress free but it is turning out to be a nightmare. Every little thing is costing me a fortune. I was sure that the little extras like decorations would be inexpensive. I was dead wrong. Even just getting suggestions and guidance is proving difficult." "For a beach reception with dj, bar, dance floor the price is 1000/hour!! "
  13. Hi. This resort was in our top 2 until I started seeing reviews with all these additional costs. Are you ladies incurring tons of extra costs? Also, do you have link to the wedding bells page with the Majestic info? That would be much appreciated
  14. Hi! Welcome to the forum. No info on that specific resort. But I'm a DR bride also! We're thinking Gran Bahia... so far anyway
  15. Quick question for you all, how much are your guests paying to spend the week with you??
  16. Sorry I can't help you with this. My to do list is as follows: PICK A DANG RESORT!!!

When my husband squeezes my hand (even just to indicate a change in direction when we're walking) it digs into my finger and the surrounding fingers. Make sure it's comfortable! Good point! I tried on a few more detailed bands that when I wasn't extending my fingers rubbed on the other ones and left marks. That's not fun!

    New in town!!

As far as ring shopping goes. I went with Joe to a bunch of different places and found a few rings that I really liked. I'm glad I went with because the ring I thought I really wanted looked absolutley horrid on my hand. My 2 cents is to go with and find a few options that you love and he can pick from those. Then it's still a surprise

    New in town!!

I loved the beach in PV. It's great! Some pics from the "romantic zone"
  21. We're staying in the Dominican for a week after our guests leave at the same resort. It's more economical for us to stay for 2 weeks rather than plan another vacation.. plus we want the time to ourselves after all of our guests leave to just relax and enjoy the sunshine and free flowing drinks
  22. Ok, so I'm trying to get back on the band wagon, so I made WW fettuccini from their Italian cook book. I was excited and it looked really good. It was horrid! I was so sad : Everything else from that book is so good. So, my point here is to skip the fettuccini. It tastes greasy noodles without flavor.
