  1. My fiance and I had been together for about 4 years and had had many beautiful vacations but always enjoyed our time in the Asheville Mountains the most. So when we planned one of our monthly rendezvous to go in December I didn't think anything about it. We stayed in a new cabin for the first time and it was by far the most beautiful one I had ever seen. We had an incredible weekend and he had planned a trip in a hot air balloon toward the end of our stay. We were so excited because we had never done that before and as the day came he was very nervous, more so than he normally is when doing something new. I reassured him that it would be ok, and we arrived at the site. Let me just say that setting up the balloon is just as beautiful as going up in it. They told us to go inside when it was about 25% full (I am posting pics below) and you are surrounded by the most beautiful colors you could imagine. We finally took off and were litterally up in the clouds skimming the tops of the trees as we glided over the most beautiful and romantic city of Asheville. We had so many great memories there, it was neat to see it from a totally different perspective. As we drifted along, Tim was holding me in his arms (it was very cold) and whispering romantic things in my ear (again things that are not uncommon for him) and at one point, he said "Mish, what is that?" and I said where.... and he pointed over the side on the ground, and I just gasped. On the ground below was a huge banner that said "Will You Marry Me?" The whole time he is professing his love to me and telling me how he doesn't want a day to go by with out me being in his life, and a lot of other words that I wasn't hearing because my heart was beating so loud and trying to jump out of my chest. He pulled his hand up and had the most beautiful ring I had ever seen, and was holding it waiting for an answer. All I could think, is omg I want to jump up and down but I can't or I am gonna fall out!!! So, I said yes and he put the ring on and I really didn't even need the balloon at that point, I could have just floated away in the clouds on my own. Happiest moment of my life thus far ;-}
  2. I think he is right, I think it is your monitor. If it is a saved image, you may want to try to email it to yourself and then check your mail and open it on another computer (work, laptop, friends computer) to see if it looks the same there. Also, if you have a pic of something that is the right green, like a pic of a dress or something, you can open it in photoshop, like suggested earlier, and click on the color in the pic you want and it will give you the exact color number for you to use in your project. This will make sure you are using the exact same color on every diy you do. If you aren't familiar with Photoshop, you can send me the example pic you are pulling the green from and I would be happy to get the color code for you. Either way, good luck ;-}
  3. You guys rock!!! Thank you for such a warm welcome I am doing a simple wedding on the beach and honestly didn't want to get involved in all of the details. Being just our family, I really didn't care what the flowers or the cake looked like. But my wedding planner insisted I give her ideas, and now getting closer I am glad she did. I love the idea of a simple white wedding with little bursts of flowers in bright colors. So, I chose my favorite combo of retro blue and green. Since it is a tropical wedding there is no problem finding flowers and rocks/glass etc in these colors. My dress is really simple and I love it. I have lost 70 pounds over the last 9 months and am wanting to lose about 20 more before we go. So, when I ordered my dress, I had no idea what to order, but when I got it in last week, it fit! It is a litte tight but will look fabulous with another 10-20 pounds gone. So, that is very rewarding and I can't wait to show it off. I will try to insert a pic here. I tried to stay pretty thrifty in what I bought and didn't do anything extra... except we are having a 5 minute firework show over the ocean at the end of our first dance as Husband and Wife, so that will be incredible. We also wanted to make it very personal so we are using "our songs" for the ceremony instead of traditional wedding music, so I will be walking down the aisle to our song "We Belong Together" by Gavin Degraw. I also have been keeping the dried rose petals from every bouquet my fiance has ever given and wanted to incorporate them somehow. So, I was thinking about making sachets out of them for all of the guests and sometime during the ceremony going to the cliff and having everyone toss them in the ocean simultaneously. I don't know... if you have any other ideas or thoughts about this let me know. It sounds romantic, and I think would be beautiful in a pic but how it would be in person I am not sure. I could go on forever and ever but I honestly cant wait to read you guys' ideas and details, so if you think of anything tips that you have heard or any must do's/don't please PM me or post. Thanks again girlies!!!
  4. Hi guys my name is Michelle, or my friends call me Mishi. I am getting married to the love of my life on April 20th, 2007, omg 29 days away!!! We invited 15 of our family/friends and are going to Cabrera, Dominican Republic for 5 nights/6 days. I really thought that I was doing the best thing ever and would have no planning, boy was I wrong. I am glad I did it this way but unfortunately even thought we are paying for everything and the only thing our guests have to cover is the passport and plane ticket ($550-$700) all of his 6 guests are on board and 0 out of 8 of mine are officially coming. So, I am in a panic, but I am excited none the less. In the end as long as it is my finace and I, that is all that matters. Anyway, I am glad to be here, and if there is anything that you guys think I have to know, please tell me!!! Thanks!!! M
