Nini_Bride - haha! Actually St Thomas was totally not my first choice. I had big dreams.. like Fiji or Hawaii and that was too expensive for us. We even looked at the Bahamas and that was still a little more than we wanted to spend. St. Thomas was the least inexpensive location we could find (especially plane ticket wise. From the east coast ticket prices were great!) I think your destination will be awesome though!

OK, here's some pictures and info that I will share so far. I'll be sure and post more stuff later! Brian and I are getting married on May 23, 2007 on Magen's Bay Beach in St Thomas. Our reception will be held on Carnival night at Iggie's Beach Bar on Bolongo Bay Beach in St. Thomas. It will be FUN!!! The reception entertainment will be a steel drum band, stilt walkers, fire eaters and Caribbean dancers. My engagement ring that I LOVE! My very non-traditional wedding dress!! Although I just bought a more traditional dress off of Ebay (shopping addict!!) so if the dress I got on Ebay fits nice enough (you can never tell sometimes!) I'll wear that one and will wear this at my reception (because it'll be easier to get around the reception venue with this one!). Sandals for the reception. Will go barefoot for the ceremony. Bridal Purse. I may be modifying the decoration in the center, but am not sure. I may just leave it as is! (Beaded Cluster Framed Evening Bag ,Target) Ok, I have a ton more pictures, but don't want to overload you guys! I'll post pictures of wedding dress #2 when I get it!

You mean an At Home Reception (AHR)? I know lots of DW brides that have done that. It's a great way to include those people who did not get to make it to the wedding!

Hi! I wish I had found this board earlier as well. Aww, I can sympathize with a small guest list. Hardly anyone we invited will be able to make it. My FI has more of his "side" coming though. Apparntly everyone I know is broke. Oh well!

Thanks for the welcome! You never know with message boards sometimes! I'm still finding my way around this board, but I will start posting up pictures and info ASAP. I'm also in grad school, so I'm multi-tasking between writing a research paper and looking around the board!

Hi. My name is Jessica and I'm from New Jersey. I usually post on TheKnot.Com DW board, but the site's been having issues lately and someone posted about this forum. It looks so pretty that I had to join even thought my wedding is soon <--- That's just because I wish I had found out about this sooner! I'll only get to post for two months! My wedding date is May 23, 2007 and Brian and I are getting married in Saint Thomas. I'm super excited, although the wedding will be pretty small. Darn people did not do a good job at saving up enough money in time (j/k). I look forward to getting some more ideas from this board, sharing what I've done/will do and getting to know everyone!
