  1. freaky! i wonder what she's doing with your photos??!!
  2. i went to my island's tourism website and copied and pasted relative travel info and tips into a word document and made a little "travel guide" on stuff like local culture./customs, currency, slang, etc. like a lot of this: JAMAICA - A premier caribbean travel destination featuring the resort areas of Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios, Kingston, Port Antonio and South Coast. would be cool for guests to know. I also contacted my island's tourism board and they sent me a bunch of free maps and coupn books for the area. maybe you can do that as well.
  3. feel free to use any ideas you like!
  4. I'm going the villa route for my stay in Saint Thomas. I wish more of our guests had also gone that way. It's a great option for accommodation!

  6. Hello Tina! How awesome you guys are tkaing a scouting trip. Definitely bring back lots of pics to share!!
  7. I don't think they are an absolute must, but I ended up doing them beause we are only having a small group of guests so it woulnd't be a huge expense, plus i know my mom, dad and fi's parents would love to keep them . I did simple brochure style ones from vistaprint. I'll attach a picture. We did really casual, low cost ones because apart from our parents, we assume everyone else will probably throw them out. I know I have from weddings I've been to!
  8. most of the people that invited themselves to my wedding aren't even coming. thank god! yes, the rudeness of people never ceases to amaze me.
  9. aww. that sucks. i was so looking forward to doing this. now i'm wondering if it's even worth spending money on the cameras, especially since our reception will be outside in the evening. probably not so great for good shots.
  10. if you decide to go with st croix, check out kelly greer for photography. she's doing my wedding and in addition to being super sweet, she seems to have some great pictures! 11. i'd send a card to each. but wow!! what an interesting trip that was. kinda crappy move on the guy's part though!
  12. thanks girls. i just ordered a push up bra plus some cutlets to see if that will work. if not, i have some ref for places in my area that i can get the bust taken in for relatively cheap. thanks again for the advice!!
  13. hmm. yeah, maybe if i stick some of those "chicken cutlet" boobs on it will help. The back of the dress is really low so i'm still trying to find a bra for it. I'm trying to avoid those stick on cup bras. i will try and take pics later. the fi is home right now!
  14. Ok, so I originally bought a really informal wedding dress that I love. But the other week I fell in love with a more traditional looking dress on ebay, and snagged it since the price was great. (I now plan on using dress #1 for the reception because it will be easier for me to move around in). So, dress number 2 had my measurements, and when I got it was absolutely beautiful and fit great everywhere except the bust area (I need more boobs!!). It's not quite as snug as I'd like it to be. It's not terrible, but could stand to be taken in a couple of inches. Problem, I am over budget as is, and considering the pricing I've seen mentioned for alterations, I don't want to spend that money (if it's as expensive as I think it will be). In addition, my wedding is coming up soon so I don't even know if I will have time. What should I do? Just wear it anyway? Any tricks to make it fit more snugly? The ceremony is only 15 minutes, and 40 minutes after for pictures, then I'm changing into the other dress. I don't think it'll fall off or anything, I've tried it on and moved around and it's ok, just kinda puffs out ever so slight on the sides where I don't fill it out enough. Do you think it'll look crazy though?
  15. Other than focusing on which location has the site you're most in love with, i would also focus on what is in your budget and what would be more affordable for guests. At this point I researched flight costs, hotel/villa costs, etc. I honestly didn't do any other planning until i got my exact location decided.
  16. wow. that's a whole lotta links! the article about outdoor weddings reminded me i don't have a backup. pray for a sunny day without rain for me!
  17. Target also has some pretty affordable beach towels. I think in the $6 range.
  18. i saw those the other day. they are super cute! i wish i hadn't already gotten my bags last year!
  19. i don't think i'm doing either the sand or candle ceremony. why did you throw out the sand ceremony idea?
  20. welcome!! congrats on your upcoming wedding.
  21. wow, so many great ideas!! i'm still working on this. darn school is keeping me busy and taking away from my wedding time.
  22. 900 people?! Oh my. I can't even imagine! That's a shock to me. I wouldn't even know what to do with that many guests. I would never be able to think of that many people. Malaysian weddings must be quite the event! I definitely want to see pictures of your wedding and reception!
  23. I don't know about any place on the internet, but if you have a Michaels by you, the last time I was at mine, they had some in their $1 section.
