Sorry off task they are great and cant wait to see them Hey Girl! We stayed at Caribia Cottage. If you guys plan to stay on the island (instead of doing the cruise) you should consider it if you decide you don't want to do the hotel thing. Caribia Cottage, St. Thomas - McLaughlin Anderson The price has gone up a little since we rented it we rented it before the AC was installed so we only paid $171/night, but it's still a pretty good bargin. Great location, middle of the island, close to town and all tourist attractions. The private pool and balconey was the best. I didn't actually get to see the Island Beachcomber property, but we did pass by it. It's right by the airport and on the beach so it will be perfect for your guests!!! The Marriott is really pretty!!! I hope you guys love it there. If you want a list of reviews of the things we did and places we ate, let me know, I have started writing it down and am almost done!
  4. More of Brian's island friends! Just hanging out. Blackbeards Castle was awesome. Having to walk back up 103 steps and three hills at the end of the tour was not! Oh look at that, Brian found more free rum punch at Backbeards. This stuff is like water on the island! Ahoy mateys! Creepy museum dolls Brian after too many free rum punches, me sweating like a pig after the 103 steps and three hills. I love this statue and totally want it for my yard. Almost every hotel and tourist attraction we went to had a resident cat. This was the rum factory's feline representative.
  5. Brian loved the free rum punch at St. Peter's Botanical Gardens I'm a blinker And no, that isn't a fanny pack. It's my camera bag! Our only St. John pic!! I forgot to take more. Oh wait, I lied. This is St. John as well, taken from our departing ferry. The skyride was fun, but we got stcuk with chatty cruise ship people so I didn't actually enjoy the view as much as I could have. St. Thomas safari style taxis are cool. We had one like this transport our guests the the ceremony and reception. From the boat ride to the Atlantic Submarine. From the streets of St. Thomas (a lot of the houses were really lovely though!) Brian and his new friend
  6. Since I don't have my pro pics back yet and my family isn't giving up any of the pics they took, her are a few from our honeymoon!! Hope these aren't too big! Brian outisde the door of our villa, in front of the pool. One of our many roomies!!! View from our villa balconey No, I didn't kill him! View from our villa at night We met some pirates in St. Thomas View from the Mountaintop of Magen's Bay Beach Another view from The Mountaintop A Birdie we met on a nature trail
  7. woo-hoo!! i just got married on magen's bay beach on may 23rd./ it was awesome. let me know if you have any questions. i will be posting pictures as soon as i get them!!!
  8. Whew! That was a long 10 days, but we finally got back on May 31 at almost midnight and totally passed out! Sorry its taken me so long to post. It took a full day for me to unpack and do laundry and yesteday was filled with grocery shopping and other fun stuff like that. The wedding was awesome and everything was beautiful. Hopefully I'll be able to share some pictures soon. My photog was having some computer issues, so she won't be able to start working on my pics util June 7th (the agony!). Some random wedding related highlights: - Janelle, our WC, was super sweet! I was a little antsy about her because I'm this super organized detail -oriented person, and in her emails, she seemed a little disorganized. But everything turned out perfectly and I got everything I wanted! - Our families met for the first time and it went well!! Yay. Hopefully that will last for awhile as my MIL is under the impression that my mom is "sweet." I love my mom, but sweet is not what I'd call her!! She's very opinionated and can be a handful - Our photographer was way cool! She made us feel so comfortable and worked fast! I can't wait to see the pics. - The weather turned out to be perfect. The weather report showed showers for the day, but it was completely dry. The wedding gods must have been smiliing on me because it started POURING like 15 minutes after our outdoor reception ended and didn't stop until the next morning. -We had a beach carnival rception at Iggies. It was awesome. Good food, great entertainment. Everyone had a blast and loved the fireeater, broken bottle dancer, limbo contest, carnival dancers, stilt walker and steel drum band at the reception. -St. Thomas was beautiful. The people were so nice and helpful. If a local saw we were a bit lost, they would quickly steer us n the right direction before we could even ask. -We rented the Caribia Cottage on the Mafolie estate. Breathtaking view of the ocean, private pool, balconey... it was heaven. Loved it! There's iguanas, anoles, geckos, etc all over the island. We had a few anoles as roommates! -We ate at Mafolie's and enjoyed the food, but had a lot more fun and really loved the food at more laid back places like Duffy's Love Shack (you can get sweet glasses with their drinks!), Sibs on the Mountain and the Greenhouse. - We had those disposible cameras on the table for people to take pictures and leave behind. Apparently our family and friends can't read (or else they have serious stealing problems), because everyone took them!!! And no one is sharing the pictures. WTF!? -Walking around St. Thomas is a sure way to remind yourself if you are out of shape. I huffed and puffed my way through the streets of that island! I never want to see another hill or set of steps again! -I assume our ceremony set up was beautiful. Everyone told me so. But honestly, I didn't even notice any of it! I'll have to wait for pictures to actually see it! -Dispite using massive amounts of bug repellent, I'm totally covered in itchy bites. Grr, it's agony! Especially the bites on my toes.
  9. I'm trying to limit the amount of "things" I have to do at the wedding. I hired my photog myself (not through my WC) so the cost of the photog was included in the check I gave for my WC to distribute to vendors (for payment and tip). I also did not include my WC tip in that check. I do however want to tip both, but was wondering if it would e ok for me to do this after I get home. Send them both a thank you card with a check for their tip for their services. I didn't know if this would be cool or not. I don't want them to think I'm not tipping them though! That's my only worry.
  10. Totally butting in, but I agree, I like your makeup a lot better than the MAC. Maybe it is the lighting, but your eyes pop more in the second picture. In the first they are kind of muted... but it definitely could be the lighting...
  11. We doing similiar stuff. We aren't having a reception or welcome dinner. We are giving guest OOT bags, favors, and... uhh.. the reception meal! We are providing transporation to the ceremony and reception. The following day we have provided transportation for some of our guests to a local shopping area. Two of our guests who I know are low on cash are recieving $100 gift certificates to the resort resturants for their week in St. Thomas. That's it!!
  12. I'm late. But yeah, some places you have to be 25, but most places rent if you are 21 and older. You just pay an extra fee if you are under 25 though. I know Hertz rents if you are under 25 but charges an extra fee. Like others said, just check the websites and they will have info! And, it's definitely easier to get around if you have a car! I mean the buses/shuttles in Orlando seemed nice and to run frequently, but it's just so much easier to have your own car! If you're renting from an airport location, I would book at least a couple months in advance!

Now you won't have to be pissy like me because you spent all that money on stamps and no one returned them.
  14. Love them!! And you look absolutely gorgeous. The dress looks fantastic on you!
  15. I know what you mean. I was shocked when I found out the prices of veils! I debated not getting one, I didn't even really want one, but eventually found a reasonably priced one on ebay. It's insane!
  16. So, I realized, I have to really put some thought into the ceremony!! Our officiant has "pre-written" ceremonies he can do, but we can modify them, change the readings, etc. I like the readings he has suggested, but I want to keep my options open in case I come across something I like better. What readings are you using (or did you use)? Ideas?
  17. We applied for our passports Feb 13 and I got mine about 3 weeks ago and fi got his about 2 weeks ago. Hopefully yours is on it's way. Have you been checking the status online? Definitely call and check up on them. Like I said, i fyou don' thave them within two weks of your leave date, they will rush them to you if you call. You just have to wait forever on the phone line. 1-877-487-2778
  18. Haha! Do your parents really want to go with you? That's funny. Fi's mom totally wants to hang out with us during the honeymoon time (we are just doing our honeymoon in St. Thomas, and most of our guests are staying there for a few extra days after as well, but Fi's mom actually wants to spend days hanging out with us (plus Fi's dad and sis). I was like... ummm, No, love ya and everything, but we neeed some alone time! Hmm... I don't know the name of the place we stayed... but I just googled it.. and I'm not sure. It might be it, it might not. The pictures look a lot like the place we stayed at. And the pool house that sleeps 9 looks exactly like the place we rented: Regal Palms Resort Townhomes But, all those rental homes in the Orlando area look so similar it's hard to tell. It might be the same place though! And yes, all the towns are so connected it was hard for me to tell where we were as well!
  19. You haven't recieved your passports or haven't applied? You can get expediated shipping (I think it's two weeks a tthis point, but tell them you need it ASAP!) with a fee. If you already applied, but just haven't gotten it you can call them if you still haven't recieved it two weeks before your travel date and they will rush it to you.
  20. FUN! I was just there in Feb. Like Laura said, Universal Studios is also another option to check out. They have a few cool rides and they also have a similar downtown section with stores, and restaurants if you want somewhere to go at night. Downtown Disney turns wicked at night. Lots of clubs/bars downtown. It's so funny to see this other side of Disney. They have an 80's club among others. Check out the Cirque Du Soliel La Nouba!!! Love it. When we went in Feb, we also stayed at a villa, but it was in Kissimee (or however you spell it). Is your villa actually in Orlando? Epcot center is always cool. If you need a shopping fix, the Florida Mall is HUGE. Simon Malls | More Choices  The Florida Mall® Information, The Florida Mall® Gift Cards The Orlando Outlets are also nice. Ther's also a ton of Murder Mystery Dinner shows in Orlando. Oh, and the final suggestion... take me!!!!!
  21. The store bought ones definitely!! Speaking of. I saw some pics of her pre-surgery. She had a cute little body! There was no need to get all crazy with it. But I guess that's what made her famous, so it worked for her.
  22. Haha. I know, when I read that I cracked up. But I think Pamela Anderson has nothing to worry about as far as my boobs giving her a run for their money. Even my pregnant boobs couldn't possibly get near the size of hers!
