  2. PS. Are those shoes from Me in Mind? That's the brand of shoes I saw. Share the url to this store you've fallen in love with!!

She even insisted on being my other sister's maid of honor.... She makes things about her. She's not a bad person, but her reaction would be "too bad", not "oh, Kate, we'll work it out." Hmm, I guess I can kind of understand wanting to have your own moment in the spotlight, but ultimately to me it just seems silly (no offense!!!) to wait a year in between each wedding. I mean, I could see maybe like, I don't know 5or 6 months, but a year?! Then again, I am not really the type to care about having my "moment." After the wedding was over I was like "Thank god! Can we move on now?!: And I also don't have any sisters, so I would probably be singing a different tune if I did!! I hope you two can work something out because it would suck to have to delay your wedding just because your sister happens to get engaged just a little while before you.
  5. Have you and your guy thought of paying for your own wedding? DH and I paid for our wedding entirely by ourselves and were really happy we went that route. I mean, I don't think you're "bad" as the older sister wanting to get married first. But just don't let it turn into one of those competition things for who will get down that aisle first.
  6. I'm not sure what kind of stomach pains you mean... I used to get gas pains a LOT. These consisted of sharp, stabbing pains/cramps in my stomach that would leave me hunched over in tears unable to move. Absolutely terrible. I haven't had one in a LONG time ::crossing fingers::.
  7. Uh, no, I think it's weird to lie and say you made it! Plus DH knows I'm lazy when it comes to cooking... and so does everyone else who knows me.
  8. At the walmart near me, they sell them in the craft section. i believe it's about $10 for a dozen of the larger size. anyway, i would probably use the smaller size for place settings.
  9. Aww. That's rough. I didn't get married on a resort although I strongly suggested the place we were having the reception at. I gave info on several places though because i knew not everyone would want to stay at this place and would want cheaper options.
  10. Yikes, that sucks. What are you going to do? I sent out my OOT bags ahead of time to people about 1.5 weeks beforre the wedding just becasue I didn't have time to ship them to my WC, everyone was staying at different hotels and I couldn't distribute them all (as some people never told me for sure where they were staying) and I didn't have room to pack them with my luggage. It defeated the purpose kind of, but at least they got to pick what they wanted to bring!
  11. I'm jealous of the girls who didn't have their gel nails ruined. Maybe it depends on how much chlorine is in the pool. I got pink and white gels for my wedding. We arrived on a Monday night, wedding was on a Wednesday so I only went in the pool two times before the wedding and they looked great. However by the end of our ten day stay, my nails looked like crap. They faded to a yellow. Even DH noticed and said "Eww, what happened to your nails" and that just tells you how bad they were because he never notices stuff like that. I had tried gels prior to the wedding (like 3 months beforehand because I had never had them before) and they were beautiful the whole time which is why I determined it was the pool (or maybe salt water from the beach?!?). Either way, I didn't have the luck pp had
  12. Aww, I hope it works out. It is kind of a stab in the heart when some people tell you they can't attend. I mean, I totally understand finanical reasons, but when someone gives you the "I can't afford" it excuse and then goes and engages in something equally expensive or whatever, it kind of just hurts. We had a couple of good friends who said they couldn't afford it, but one couple somehow found enough money to buy a couple of super expensive motorcycles that cost more than the trip would and the other couple just didn't save because they spent all their money that they saved on eating out and buying random stuff instead. Anyway, hopefully your grandma will come through giving it some more thought. This is always an issue with DW's (people finding a reason not to go).

I guess I shoulld have looked at the the measurements though. I never do. OTC is tricky because a lot of the stuff is actually "smaller than appears" (i.e bags). And I never pay attention to the measurements they list!
  14. I've thought about a nose job just because I HATE my nose, but never had the guts to go through with it. Ultimately I guess I don't hate it that much! But, yikes, I'd be scared to do it before the wedding only because if it turned out not looking how I envisioned, I'd be upset everytime I saw the wedding pictures! It's something I guess you'll just have to really think about a lot and follow your gut. You don't want to wait until after?
  15. DH and I paid for every last painful cent and our current bank account shows it!
  16. Oooh, those look yummy!!!! I have no idea about Cabo bakers, but I think I'd rather try to find one than travel with them. I'd be too freaked out that they'd get trashed in transit no matter how well I packed them.
  17. Yikes, if the heat is as bad where you are s it was here today, I feel so bad for you. I would totally fill the bathtub with cool water and just sit in it!
  18. I've had nothing but positive experiences with them. I used them long before I used them for any of my wedding stuff. Honestly, a lot of the complaints I've heard about are really the fault of the person placing the order who just wasn't fully paying attention and aren't taking responsibility for their part. Like the charges. They don't automatically sign you up for those things, there is a pop up screen that presents the offer, people just don't reead and click continue which processes the extra order/charges instead of closing the window. As far as not getting a confirmation email, check your spam mail and call the customer hotline just to verify the order went through. It usually shows up on my "holds" portion of my checking account right away. If nothing is showing up, maybe something got screwed up and your order wasn't processed.
  19. I did! Sorry, I don't have a saved version to share but this is what I included: Contact phone numbers for my and Brian's cell phone, our wedding coordinator, the reception site. Taxi prices (since there are set rates in Saint Thomas) List of rental car agencies Since we provided transportation for our guests from the hotel most of our guests were staying at to the ceremony adn receptio sites, I put info on where to meet the shuttle and times. Optional activities I had set up. Average temps for the week. I did it newsletter style. A "don't forget to pack this" list and
  20. After taking Mexico out of the running I thought of Puerto Rico. It was my first US Territory choice, mainly because my fathers family is from there (my mom's family is from Mexico). Brian and I got in such a HUGE fight over that because he was concerned with the drug crime there which is why he veteoed that choice and his family is really ummm... idk, they have stereotypes about Latinos (ie. his mom calls everyone who is Latino "Mexican" kind of annoying, but she's harmless I guess!). It was amazing enough we got his white bread family to go to Saint Thomas! I personally think it would be awesome. I've only been there in passing (airport layover), but the view from the sky was awesome! You should go for it.
  21. i had my wedding in may. std's went out ten months before. i sent out invites at the end of jan/beginning of feb ang gave a march 30th rsvp deadline for my may 23rd wedding.
  22. Cute! I never really go there and haven't been ther ein at least 5 years although there is one about 15 minutes anyway. I should definitely check it out for baby stuff though. Something to do tomorrow!
  23. I'm thinking of getting these done after the baby is born and I get back into shape. I was too broke to get them done before the wedding because of all the money we put towards the wedding. I woud so love to do a retro pin-up style session though.
