  1. Yay!! Can't wait to hear all about it and see those hot wedding pics. Good luck <3
  2. Ah, that's like 20 minutes from where I live. Too bad I already am married. They should have had this last year darn it!
  3. Aww, I missed this. But that is so sweeeeet! I hope you get the painting Tammy!
  4. Dear Brian, My dear husband, I love you. I have fun playing my wife role and cooking you dinner and keeping the house neat and clean but you instill visions of beating you to a bloody death when I spend the majority of my day cleaning and you come home and manage to completely mess up everything in under ten minutes. Please remember, I'm not your mommy and will not pick up after you. You're a big boy. It's not that hard. I don't need to have two children. ----- Dear Aiden, I see you have taken after your father in knowing just how to push my buttons. You'd so be grounded if you weren't still in utero. You scare me when you sleep all day and I don't feel you so much as shift. I go into a complete panic. Isn't that enough torture for one day? Must you top it off by finally deciding to kick like a wild man at night all the way until the next morning? This has become a regular occurance. I see it as an indication of your post delivery sleeping patterns. Sleep all day, party all night? Guess I'll give you credit for preping me for what's to come. ----- Dear Skin, Please stop freaking out on me. I know the pregnancy horomones are making you do it, but back pimples are gross. Let's call a truce?
  5. Ah hahaha!! Hey, at least Erik gives you messages. I showed up for my OBGYN appt today and the office was closed. WTF. I get home bitching, Brian's like, "Oh yeah, they called on Thursday because they had to cancel. You have to call them back and re-schedule." Grrr.
  6. Yikes. I've never had a job where random drug testing is involved. Sounds like a pain in the ass, especially since it's hair and pee. That sucks. I haven't smoked pot in ages, but blah, I think people make to big a deal out of it. I could see if you were a coke head or something, but as long as you're not smoking pot on the job or coming in high to work, why shoud they care.
  7. I pretty much agree with what I read so far. I don't think you're being a brat, but there's a certain degree of input others are entitled to have if they are paying for something. Money is always a touchy subject. I think maybe there was just a miscommunication somewhere. You're lucky that she is giving you $1000 and I know you probably are grateful, just disappointed/confused. How about, if yu can afford it, pay the remainder if your total goes over your mom's budget. Just let her know you appreciate what she is giving you. I'm sure it'll blow over. No need to turn this into a bigger issue than it should be. Good luck!
  8. Welcome, fellow NJ girl.
  9. Love seeing all the contests. I don't have any Halloween themed pics so I just stuck up a random image to get into the general Halloween spirit. Good luck to all the contest participants.
  10. That is hysterical. If it's real (and I hope it is because it's so great) I agree wholeheartedly. As much as pregnancy has it's own downside, I have to say, it's better than that monthly red river which without fail leaves me curled up in the fetal position and in constant attack mode like some feral dog.
  11. That's awesome!! What a great idea and your story was very touching. I hope this helps raise a nice amount of money!
  12. Aww, I'm sorry. The behavior does sounds suspicious, and if she gets really defensive about any mention of drugs, that only increases it. I've only taken one course on Substance Abuse in my counseling program, but all the things I've read in your posts here fit the typical behavior. I don't know what to say though except I hope she's safe and you hear from her soon. It's always really hurtful when your parents let you down.
  13. Normal sounds good. But yeah, definitely get the scoop from the doctor with more details. I think it's good news though! Maybe they can tell you why things weren't as positive before, that would be helpful.
  14. the pot roast sounds yummy!!! i so need to get a crock pot.
  15. Everything I had to say has already been said, but I think it'll be ok Shelley. When you guys are ready to have a child you will... and whether that child be carried inside of you, made with the help of medical intervention, or adopted, it will be your child and so very lucky to have you.
  16. Welcome. That is so great that your children are excited about you getting married. I'm sure it not only makes things easier, but it's so important that they are comfortable with the decision.
  17. Yeah, the whole tummy time thing is a big issue. There are all these tummy time mats and stuff now.
  18. I KNOW!!! I think that's why I'm so not the type to freak out over the latest "Don't do this!" hype because I'm like, well I did all that and so did my friends and we made it. And I didn't go that crazy with staying away from all the stuff on the "do not eat/do this" pregnancy list because I thought "Well my mom did all this and I'm pretty normal!!" (Not the smoking/drinking stuff, but other things.) It's funny, the other day my mom says to me "Oh, when the baby sleeps, you have to put him on his tummy so he won't choke if he spits up." Makes sense, but hmmm, I think I'll try the tummy up method...

Make them think I am having a surprise bday party and surprise them. The good thing though is that when it rains, it's not like around us, where it rains allll day. When we went in May, the forecast said we would have rain EVERYDAY. It did rain most of the days we were there, but the thing about it is, it comes in bursts. It would rain like crazy for 10/15 minutes, but then boom, it would just stop, the sun would come out and everything dried up so quickly. So I would think a beach wedding would still totally work out for you.
  20. I can't believe I missed this post!!! Congrats!!! How exciting. I neer understood the whole planning before getting engaged thing. I'm normally a planner, but the fun of being engaged is the planning, and I would totally change my mind if I planned in advance anyway. The only hesitation I would have about doing Saint Thomas in October, is that it's one of the months with the highest percentage of rain. But you still have some time to think about it. What about a small wedding in Saint Thomas, and then a big party (AHR) in Philly?
  21. That is a cute idea! Usually I throw birthday (and all other) cards away after a month or two... well except for the cards Brian gives me, I've kept all those. But something like this I'd definitely keep because it's so personalized. Thanks for the idea! I'll have to remember to do this.
  22. Happy Birthday sweetie. But yeah, 22. What the hell!? That's the age I'm going to say I am for my next birthday.
