Police: Minn. woman inquiring about Craigslist post found dead
Jessica replied to TammyWright's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
That is scary. I have to say I never used CL because I happnen to think of those things as sketchy. I'm basically afraid of what happened here happening. I have to say, if I were to ever use CL or any newspaper or online ad, I would nevr have the person come to my house or go to the person's house. Public daytime, crowded meeting places only! That is just a horrible story. -
Happy Birthday mama!!!

Ahaha! I love the gay one. That is hysterical. I need to blow that yup, get it framed and hang it in the basement over DH's pool table when we set up the game room.

I hope all our CA BDW memebers and their family and loved ones are safe, as well as your homes!

You know, I never considered putting all the boxes into a spare room, but that's a great idea. I don't think I'll get around to painting the living room/dining room before we move in and plu sI want to pull out the carpet in there. Also Aiden's room we might not get around to before we start moving in boxes. Hmmm, I think I'll do that so then I can paint in the next few weeks (wearing a mask of course!) even if DH isn't there instead of waiting for him to move boxes out for me. Thanks for the ideas girls!

Right now I've just been doing it on weekends and I get burned out so easily, it sucks because Brian hs hardly been home at all for the past two weeks because of work. After class tonight I'll try and get some more done. Maybe I can convince my friend to come and hang out with me... and um... pack some stuff.

I move a couple years ago, two days before Christmas and held a christmas dinner. And for the most part my house was unpacked. Course I'm super anal and wasn't pregnant so I stayed up all night getting everything done. Do you have family and friends who are helping? Maybe hire a mover to handle all the big stuff.. I have the boxes labeled inmy super anal way. They have the name of the my or brian's name if it's specifica to one us, the contents and the room they are supposed to go in (office, bedroom, basement, etc). So I'm thinking of printing up signs for each room and hanging them on the doors so peple know which room is which. Brian thinks I'm being over anal about it though! We have some about 3 or 4 of Brian's friends helping us move. Technically I of course won't be moving much and will be unpacking more, but I am SUCH A CONTROL FREAK. Seriously, it's making me anxious that people won't put stuff in the right room, etc. Yeah, I have problems.

So next week at this time, we will be closing on the house nad moving in. That's the awesome part. The not so awesome part is that although we have started packing, I feel like we have so much left to do! It's amazing how much junk you manage to accumulate over the years. At least this is a good opportunity to throw a lot of stuff out. It's been so long since I last moved, and the last time I moved (out of the place my ex and I shared) I basically left him a lot of the furniture and stuff and just bought all new stuff (with Brian) so I didn't have quite as much. So do you have any tips to make it go easier? Like I said, we do have a lot of stuff boxed, but still have a decent amount left. We have the apt until Nov 2nd, so I'm thinking the 31st we can move small stuff in and knock some of the painting out of the way, like the kitchen and maybe the bedroom. Usually I'm so organized, but I feel a bit overwhelmed by this task. I think because I want to try and get as much done before the baby is here, because I have a feeling it's not going to be the easiest thing to decorate with a newborn.

I just have to ask, are you absolutely certain the people who contacted you were from the police dept first of all? Did you verify this? They didn't ask you for any additional information or anything right? I'm thinking though, considering all the Nigerian internet scams out there, it must have been something online most likely! I hope everything works out with the house!!!!! Stuff like this always happens at the absolute worse time.

Hair Combs/Barrettes
Jessica replied to KellyandMatt08's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I don't know where in South Jersey you live, but if you ever get to Pilly (or New Hope, PA) there's a store called "Nova Ice" that sells all things sparkly. It's not forever quality, but the prices are reasonable and the stuff is decent. There's always ebay. Or most malls have littl kiosk's with that type of hair jewelry. You might find something here: Hair Accessories - HairBoutique.com Marketplace or here: Hair Accessories and Brooches: Buy Hair Accessories and Brooches online at ebuni.com -
If they tease you because of that, well that's just silly! I agree with Tami, can you get a fake in the meantime? Or will they notice and make a big deal out of it? It must be frustrating not be able to get a move on plans. Especially for something like a DW, you want to get things done with enough time to spare as possible. Well you can still print out the letters, put them in envelopes and stamp them right? That way when you get that ring, all you have to do is drop those babies in the mailbox and you're set!

I can't believe the boombox and spencer shooting the video. Gosh, spring a little bit if you want anyone to take you seriously. About her hand movements, I don't know what's up with that. There was a live performance she did on youtube (I can't find it now) where she used the same hand movements. It's so bizarre. She needs to strap those things down or something.

FMIL is STILL Trying to Add to Our Guest List
Jessica replied to foxytv's topic in Just venting or funnies
My MIL was the same way. I love her to death, and I understand she was just excited and wanted to show off our wedding, etc. But it was just annoying because it defeated the whole family and close friends thing we were going for. So I told Brian either he had to flat out tell her to stop, or I would. Thankfully it all worked out and she stopped, though we did wind up with a few of her additions on the guest list because she had already pretty much told them they were invited and they had already begun to make plans (aughhh!). But at least she arranged for us to all get together a few times before hand so they weren't absolute strangers by the time the DW rolled around. -
Maybe people just missed that other thread. I know I've never even seen it until now.

Everything looks awesome!!!! I LOVE the BM dresses. I want to be in your wedding! Good pick.

I'm so sorry! I am however really glad you're not pushing him. Seriously, you should be proud of yourself for that. It shows you are ready to be married and realize marriage is a committment and involves compromise. I think so many girls push and push their guys to walk down the aisle when they want and don't realize they are setting themselves up for failure. You both need to feel ready before taking those vows. That said, it does suck that things are going to be delayed, but who knows, you may love your alternative plans a whole lot more! I'm sure you guys will figure something out. Family can be a pain in the butt sometimes, but I'm glad you understand it's important to Amos to have his be there.

If you're married and haven't changed your name yet, raise your hand!

You're not the only slacker! I haven't changed my name yet!! I don't even know if I want to... although having a baby does make me lean towards wanting to change it though. I think I might to what my friend did. She legally added her DH's last name on to her name. so it's first middle maiden DH-last. So it appears that way on her SS card. But then on her DL, credit cards, etc it just reads first dh-last. So I'm thinking I might do that so I can still keep my maiden name legally, but not have to use a hypenated name on documents and stuff. It'll just be like having two middle names. But yeah, I'm probably going to wait until after I'm done with school to do that. -
1. Something cool for Aiden! Clothes (I'd say size 3 months and up), a really cool toy, anything cute, or unusual. 2. Gift card! (Old Navy, Target, Babies R Us, or a "home" type store - Linens and Things, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, etc). 3. I love girly bath stuff. Body washes, sponges, soaps, etc (not bubble bath though). Vanilla, mint, coconut, apple and natural scents (earth inspired scents like ocean, etc) are my favorites.
