1. Will we meet the minister prior to the ceremony? We met about 15 minutes prior to the ceremony. He interviewed Brian and I seperately and customized our ceremony based off our answers. It was actually a great ceremony! 2. Can we specify what we want minister to say? We could, but we didn't because I had enough to do without tackling this! 3. How 'easy' is it to add readings, sand ceremonies, etc? I didn't do any of this. I'm a no-frills type of girl. 4. Can we say whatever vows we want? Again, yes we could, but we let the officant handle it because we had enough on our plate.

i didn't have a shower. but my friend who just got married dec 1st (non dw) had hers on oct 20th.

Got married in St. Thomas on a Wednesday, picked up our cert from the courthouse the following Monday.

Congrats on putting down the deposit! When she asks what you envision, I don't think she needs to know the colors at all. She probably means the mood. Do you envision something romantic? Traditional? Untraditional? Modern? Do you envision an aisle lined with flowers? Your guests seated? An arch? Do you envision walking down the aisle to the traditional wedding music, or something "carribean" inspired? (my steel drum player played a lot of Bob Marley! It was great.) I think purple and a burnt orange can go well together. It may help you out if you see actual swatches and put them together to see if you like it. My colors were so easy. Black and white with touches of red, because that's my favorite color combo. Go with whatever you like.

Wow. I'm so sorry the news isn't what you wanted. I don't know how far along you are, but depending on that, you have a bit of time to weigh your options. No one will judge you for not being ready right now. In my opinion, even though I love babies/chilren and think they are an absolute blessing, it's also very important if you know you are not ready and this isn't the time in your life for a child to do what's right for you and your FI. That being said, you need to sit down and talk to your FI about what the right thing for the two of you is. Take into consideration financial, career, education, emotional... all the factors in your life right now. You may decide you do want this and can do it, or you may decide you can't and that's ok too. Just don't feel pressured either way, go with your heart. I don't mention this much, because it was such a different point in my life, but I have had two abortions. One when I was a teenager and one actually when Brian and I first started dating (while on BC!). It's not an easy route to take or any easy thing to decide, but if you ever need any support on that I'm here for you. Good luck.

I know the feeling. I actually took the "tacky" route because constantly had people asking me where i was registered. I didn't have an AHR, but those who couldn't make the wedding really wanted to send gifts, and so did some of the wedding guests. Also, I didn't really register for anything super expensive because after years of living together we had a lot of stuff (so that made me feel less guilty about sharing my list!). Anyway, I just included a brief list of registered places in our STD newsletter. In your case, I would put it on the website since you have one. I think that's the perfect spot.
