  1. For the ring, I always thought the pics of a white pencil starfish stuck in the sand with the rings is pretty. i wanted to do that but forgot to buy one! you can get them at any craft store. They also sell them at Walmart. You can buy really pretty large shells at both places as well.

  3. i did vistaprint invitations too for the same reason! everyone thought they were so pretty, so i was pleased. yours look great. hooray for saving money for something better!
  4. whew. thank god i missed the downtime! i was out most of the day. i would have gone crazy with boredom!
  5. Why not just have a small bridal shower and then do an AHR with the 150 guest list afterwards?
  6. Hmm, I like the resolution idea as well!
  7. When we were in St Thomas, it was pretty... ummm, kid infested?! I mean it wasn't like being at Disney or anything, but every resort/hotel we went to (to visit guests) there were kids present. So IDK if St Thomas would totally be your scene... Not to discourage you, because we had a blast there and plan to go back soon. But you might want to consider another island with adult only resorts if no kids is something that's important.
  8. Your dress is so pretty!!!! It's definitely a hot mama dress without the crineoline underneath. Looks like you're ready to salsa! I love it.
  9. You can check out my planning bio and st. thomas bio for some activity suggestions/reviews. Links in my signature. I didn't stay at the Wyndham, but met some people who did and they loved it. It was pretty from the outside! LMK if you have any questions!
  10. I got the nubra for my wedding. it sort of worked. i was sweating a lot because it was so hot, so it wasn't as sticky as it had been previously when i first tried it on in my non-sweaty state. it kept in place though!
  11. i say f--k diets in general! food is meant to be enjoyed!

  13. Morgan, the invite looks awesome. Everyone is going to love them. Very elegant without being stuffy.
  14. Hmm. Do you just want plain folders or something printed on them? I know a ton of places where you can buy folders in that size that are custom printed, but not sure if they just sell them without anything on them. Did you try Staples, Office Max, etc?
  15. i honestly don't think you are being a baby. i think she's kind of being a brat (all respect to your future niece/nephew's mom) for not letting your brother go. it's not like he wants to go to a wedding of someone who is just an aquaintance for god's sake! i'd be totally pissed off. i would let brian go if i were in that situation. my feelings are that it's either -horomones -she's jealous she can't go and that's why she wants your bro to stay -she's underestimating her ability to take care of a 4-5 month old baby on her own -she's just a brat i hope something can be worked out. i'm sure she'll come around (unless she's just that type of girl, or you don't get along with her normally then i don't see why eventually she won't realize your bro should be there).
  16. i used vistaprint for my invites because i wanted super cheap ones. i just googled something like "free vistaprint invitations" or something and found coupon links to get them for free. they turned out cute. i got them done n the linen paper for an extra $5, but it still didn't cost much money. the only thing was that there was a vistaprint logo on back, but i glued ribbon around the invite to tie the invitations with, so it worked!
  17. wow heidi that is awesome. sounds like they really are gung-ho about having you on board which is terrific. yeah, the 5 day vacation time thing sucks, but it's only for the first year and you won't have to deal with your crappy boss anymore, so it all kind of evens out in the end! congrats on the new job!
  18. no expert advice because i'm anti-china registration (haha, i'm such a rebel!), but i think the set is really pretty!! if there is something else that you guys could really use a lot more, i would probably exchange them, but if you can swing the extra sets (or know this set won't be discontinued before your year is up) i would go for it.
  19. yikes! well has anyone booked yet?! if most people haven't booked yet, or if those guests who did book can change their reservations without losing $$$ then I think it would be ok. you may see some people who were going to come drop out if they needed that time to save $$ or vacation time. wait... i just read that you only want to move it up a week... right? well i would think that should be ok. i would find out asap though about the venue, photog, etc so you can let your guests know. it should be fine. good luck to your partner! that's quite an accomplishment!!!
  20. Yeah, the giving the passwords is the only thing that makes me leary... even if it is alegit site, I've never given out my password for anything. But I'm glad it's helping you out!
  21. Thanks for updating us. It's totally ok to not be ready. It would be irresponsible of you to have this baby knowing you weren't mentally and emotionally ready for it. Like I said, I've been there, and I know it is not the "easy way out". It's physically and emotionally painful, but having FI"s support will make it easier to get through. Take care.
