  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! (sorry I'm late!!!) Hope you had a GREAT day!!!
  2. Thanks Tammy and everyone else. I just checked the rates on Riu's website and they're $200pp cheaper for the week...now I"m confused But that makes things MUCH easier if that's the case - they can just book on their own
  3. Thanks for responding... My TA tells me that my guests would NOT be able to get the quoted rate UNLESS I have already signed a contract...I can't sign a contract until I get a $200pp deposit to the resort, hence the problem. I don't want to have to tell people they have to decide NOW, 10+ months in advance that they are going to our wedding. and that we need that much money ASAP
  4. OK, so Reggie & are paying for this wedding. We don't have much money. Our parents have NO money. Translation - we are saving up until April 08, which is why our wedding is almost a year and a half after we first got engaged. Just got off the phone with travel agent who informs me that no, the rates and deposit amount she emailed me is NOT guaranteed. Too bad she didn't tell me that until AFTER I sent out my 70 save the dates and started getting responses. So tonight she tells me that in order to get those rates, we need to sign a contract. So fine, I'll sign. No contract till I put down a $200 per person deposit. She emailed me that it was a $150pp deposit, which is the info that was in my save the date. That was SO NOT what we had talked about at all. She never told me we would need to do that. I have told her many times that WE DO NOT HAVE MONEY!!! So now what do I do? Her suggestion is to email my guests and ask them to send ME $200 per person by next week. And then I can put the money down for the room deposit. We have MANY MANY people hemming & hawing about coming or not, how in the heck are we supposed to get $$ from them??!?!?! And we need a minimum of 10 rooms. That's $4,000 I definitely do NOT have... On top of that my sister/Maid of Honor tells me she can't support my wedding and doesn't want to come; my uncle tells me it's not safe in Jamaica so he & my aunt won't be here and I swear if one more person tells me about safety issues I'm going to go through the roof. I just want to cry OK, sorry I just can't stop crying!!! I'm so frustated and hurt! I don't know what to do... Maybe I can just call everyone I invited & tell them we changed our mind and just go elope somewhere...
  5. wow! great pictures!!! looks like everyone had a fantastic time! CONGRATS!!!
  6. OK, I did good this weekend! (finally!!) Reggie & I biked a 10K course at a park, it was great! Then, on mother's day my mom & I did a mother/daughter yoga workshop for 2 hours. And I woke up this morning to do a mini-jog. Phew, it's been a while, but I think I'm getting back into the swing of things here!
  7. hi, and welcome to the forum! Congrats on your engagement!
  8. oh shoot...I kept scrolling through that Nordstrom website and found a TON more that I like. And I find myself being negotiable on the hot pink/grass green color scheme that I originally wanted!!! Betsy & Adam Sweetheart Lace Inset Party Dress - Cocktail - Nordstrom.com Eliza J Cutout Party Dress - Cocktail - Nordstrom.com Maggy London Silk Chiffon Halter Dress - Cocktail - Nordstrom.com Maggy London Chiffon Halter Dress - Cocktail - Nordstrom.com What now?!?!
  9. Pink & Green.... I like these: Ruby Rox Matte Jersey Halter Dress - Bridesmaid - Nordstrom.com (though I'm not sure if 'coral' is the bright pink I'd want!) Ruby Rox Princess Lace Dress - - Nordstrom.com (again, paler pink than I wanted, but it's SO pretty & VERY affordable - $78!!!) David's Bridal - Bridesmaids, Dress Detail (1st & 2nd are Junior dresses, but all of my girls should be able to wear...I think!)
  10. I found Alissa's bridesmaid dresses!!! Too bad they're only in yellow... Bari Jay Strapless Chiffon Dress - Bridesmaid - Nordstrom.com
  11. Also, there are a lot of budget posts & threads...try searching 'budget' and you should find a lot! Have you started looking at resorts? It becomes MUCH easier to establish a budget once you pick a place! (and I speak from experience!!)
  12. I'm trying to decide between beach & on-resort wedding locations. Definitely one of the gazebo locations; but they have a gazebo on the beach and on their grounds. I don't what this to happen with my wedding photos, so maybe off of the beach!!
  13. Congrats Kay726...hope you have a fantastic time! Can't wait to hear the stories & see the pictures!!!!
  14. OK, another I'm considering now - Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 : 7.2-megapixels, 12X image-stabilized zoom, 3-inch fixed LCD, manual mode, on-screen help menu, records to Memory Stick Duo media, VGA movies at 30 or 16 fps, AF assist lamp, 2 NiMH AA batteries (charger included), self timer, PictBridge compatible. 14.9 ounces. versus the Canon PowerShot S3 IS: 6-megapixels, 12X image-stabilized zoom, 2-inch articulated LCD, records to SD cards, VGA movies at 30 fps, 320 X 240 movies at 60 fps, zoom usable in movie mode, separate movie-recording control, full manual control in addition to autofocus, AF assist lamp, self-timer, PictBridge compatible, uses AA alkaline or NiMH batteries. 14.5 ounces. thoughts
  15. I had a Kodak EasyShare Z7590 (it was an older model that has since been replaced & upgraded), which I LOVED!!! While on vacation to Dominica, somehow the lens popped out and fell down a mountain!!! I had dropped it in the past (I know, I know - shame on me!!!), so when I tried to get it fixed with the replacement plan I purchased they denied it. It's $150+ to get it fixed, and I was thinking about getting an upgrade anyway....so I'm considering just buying a new one. The camera I like the most after some research is the Canon PowerShot S3 IS. Or, I could just get another Kodak EasyShare (maybe the Z612 or Z650). I like the ultra zoom cameras, and I don't like the small, thin ones. I'm looking to spend $300-500, though I'd prefer a good camera around $300! Anyone have any other suggestions

(i could just blame it on my relatives in other states that wanted to see it, but that would be a lie, haha) Princess cut pink sapphire and princess cut diamond side stones. Those are all tiny round diamonds going down the sides of the bands:: You can kind of see the two larger side diamonds next to the center stone are set in yellow gold, where the rest of the ring is in white ::: You can see it kind of on the side of the band here, both sides of the band and engagement ring have that pretty detailing:: It really is beautiful in person, he did a great job! WOW!!!! That is a very impressive ring!!!!
