  2. Just something I'm curious about...I hear an AWFUL lot about jerk chicken, steak, lobster, shrimp, etc at the ROR. For those of you who have gone...did you notice any vegetarian food? I'm not a particularly picky eater, but I think I'd need to prepare myself if I'll be eating pasta & salad all week long! Edited to add: Starting to answer my own question... took a closer look at the sample menus on their website; sounds like I'll be dining in the Asian restaurant (Mandalay) whenever I can! (Vegetarian spring rolls, deep fried tofu, curried vegetables, egg noodles with soya sauce & vegetables, Tepanyaki vegetables)

  4. Well this thread made me curious. I looked up April and though there's less rain, they still say the most likely time for precipitation is 4pm. Oh well, good to know Chandlyn will let us wait out the rain. There's a chart with high temps, low temps, precipitation info, etc for each month at the end of this page: Jamaica Weather | jamaica-guide.info

  6. YAY!!! That's wonderful news!
  7. I anticipate this being quite long whenever I finally put it all together. But I have to start somewhere and sometime, so here we go!! I had a LOT of fun designing all of these things. And I think I designed AT LEAST 10 different logos, only using 2 or 3 though! First, our boarding pass STD's. Painstakingly cut out and stapled together. There were 3 pages stapled together. 2nd page had info about the resort, 3rd page had contact info for our TA and both of us. Here is the first page: http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...BDW/ticket.png Then, we have our invitation. I wanted something very simple. It was designed in Word using the fonts Mutlu, Optimus Principus and Chopin Script (all available for free on dafont.com). Printed out and backed with green paper. Put in gold-foil envelope with website insert pictured below the invite. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...ca003Small.jpg Also include with the invitation and website insert was our RSVP post card. We ordered these online from VistaPrint, using a code for 100 free postcards. That way they'll play while walking down the aisle and for a bit of time after while we're mingling/doing pictures. The DJ questions are great, I was wondering the same thing myself. Hopefully someone can answer them for us!

Are you working within a certain budget? How many guests do you think will join you? Does the resort have to be all inclusive? Let us know if we can help at all!!!

  16. Best of luck Tammy!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I chose Ocho Rios for the following reasons: 1. Slightly cheaper than Negril 2. Guaranteed semi-private reception dinner (not guaranteed at Negril, I believe) 3. The EXCURSIONS!!! (Our #1 deciding factor) - there is sooooo much more to do in Ocho Rios that we're interested in: Hiking, Mountain Biking, Waterfalls, Canopy Tours, Horseback Riding, Swimming with Dolphins, Bob Marley tour, exotic gardens, etc... 4. It's a HUGE resort, we can easily lose our guests if we want some privacy. Not as easier at the smaller Negril resorts.

  19. FABULOUS review! sorry there were so many problems with your mom's travel but I"m glad she got there and everything worked itself out. I can't believe your MIL had your cousin's bday dinner @ Mammee Bay! Not cool!!!!

Thanks...honestly, I have no idea why I didn't think about that! hehe
  21. I go back and forth on the whole thing. I'm thinking either the jr suite or full suite. Whenever we travel, we get the rock bottom room option, for the reasons many of you listed on here. BUT, it'd be something that would make our wedding/honeymoon stick out that much more, just because we have NEVER, ever stayed in a room like that before (or probably ever again!)
  22. I need to decide whether or not we will upgrade our room... Right now, we have booked a Junior Suite. Other options are Full Suite & Jacuzzi Suite. JUNIOR SUITE Junior Suites feature bathrooms with a whirlpool tub, separate standing shower, bidet, double sink, make up mirror and hair dryer. Room amenities include closet with safety deposit box, extra pillows and blankets, iron and ironing board, liquor dispenser and minibar. A step down living room area with sofa leads to a balcony with chairs for your enjoyment. FULL SUITE - an extra $898.68 for our 8 days in Jamaica Twice as large as the Junior Suite, these rooms feature bathrooms with a whirlpool tub, separate standing shower, bidet, double sink, make up mirror, hair dryer and plush bath robes. Room amenities include closet with safety deposit box, extra pillows and blankets, and iron and ironing board. A large step down living room area with a sofa leads to a terrace with lounge chairs. JACUZZI SUITE - $1,248.68 more than Jr Suites, $350 more than Full Suite Twice as large as the Junior Suite, Jacuzzi suites feature the same amenities as the suites, plus a large step down living room area with sofa leading into a double balcony with an outdoor private Jacuzzi tub. (I posted this in the Jamaica Riu Brides thread; but I'm looking for some help here! I hate making decisions!!!!! )
  23. phew, these really don't get any easier!!!
