I'm sorry you have to go through this as no surgery is pleasant. However, it sounds like it's going to be very beneficial for you! Best wishes for a safe and speedy recovery! (P.S. BDW is great for when you're stuck in the house all day long )

Clarisonic Skin Care Brush & other product questions.
JaimeLynne replied to JaimeLynne's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
CRAP! I am just over the 30 day return date. BUMMMMMER!!!! I wonder if I could resell it here or on Ebay or something like that. I have all the packaging (except I have used 1 of the sample face washes but there are still 2 left) and all someone would need to do is slip a new head on it for safety/sanitation reasons... I have an extra head that is supposed to be coming in the mail within a month.... That's just a lot of money for me to lose out on! I like the product but unfortunately with acne it is just not a good match... -

Oh and I agree - somewhere centrally located and easy to find is all that matters to me! 7 sounds good to me. Martin usually ends up driving me around too and he's also such a good sport Maybe we can bring them some leftovers or something...

Wanted to give y'all an update: Martin called MyEvent.com this morning. The guy on the phone was really nice and said they could definitely link our websites. They will just refer all traffic over to our new unique domain name and he said eventually people should just figure out the new name on their own. We highly recommend this site btw!!!

Soooo girls, this Saturday is the big night!!! I'm really looking forward to it. Who is still on?? As long as I'm feeling well you know I will be there for sure!!! I'm having a lot more "good" days lately and I made it through my family engagement party last night so it's definitely looking promising! A good ole' girls night out is just what my soul needs right about now! YEAH! As for restaurants - I don't really care where we meet up as long as it's centrally located (and we can get in on a Sat night). For those of you who will be drinking, I hope you've scheduled your DD to drop you off and pick you up... I know I have! (Poor Martin )

Awe Kathi, I'm sorry you are going through so much stress! As my Dad says - "that's all weddings are - stress" (coming from a guy who's been married what, 3 times now...? ) It will all work out in the end - you are getting married so soon!!! AHHHH!!! Are you excited?? I would try and concentrate as much as possible on the good things that you are looking forward to. Remember this will all pass in one single day and then it will be over, so enjoy it for what it's worth. (Btw, don't mean to sound like venting is a bad thing cause it's NOT!!!! Get it all out, sista'! )

I'm back. They totally outdid themselves. My Dad's house looked amazing! We had 22 people show up - it was wonderful Only thing we had a complaint about was that my Grandma switched up the seating chart they asked me to make. (Apparently she didn't feel my chart was appropriate ) SO my FILs (FFIL/MIL/BILs/SILs) had to sit at their own table with my Grandma. This really pissed me off! I could totally tell they felt left out, since they were the only ones there from Martin's side of the family. I had *specifically* tried to mingle them and set up the tables how I felt they would best be placed. When my FMIL went to sit down I said "No, I think you're supposed to be at that other table..." and she said that her name was in that spot and made some comment like "I guess we all have to sit together...". I felt horrible!!! My Dad made a speech that made me cry, and then they started going around telling stories about us as kids. BUT since FIs family felt left out and probably shy because of it, his parents didn't get to toast and only 2 stories came out about Martin. Martin and I were both really upset about this All I can say is that I'm glad we have control over our own seating charts and all that for the wedding. I hope this isn't a sign of more controlling issues to come... *sigh* P.S. Everyone took lots of pics. Waiting to get the pics from them because my camera ran out of juice right in the beginning (how does that always happen??). I have a few but it might take awhile to get them uploaded so hang tight....

Thanks girls! I'm waiting for my nails to dry (so of course being a BDW addict, had to stop in ) and then I'm off to get ready and go to the party! My sister, Aunt & Uncle and Great Aunt & Uncle, all of whom I haven't seen in at least a year will be there

Yay, I'm excited! Our families are throwing us another engagement party tonight (1st one was friends only). I only wanted something really simple just so that my family would feel included (I could tell some of them felt a little left out from the first one) so I suggested it. Welll my Grandma, FMIL and Aunts ran with it! LOL They are renting tables and everything. It's going to be a "Mexican Fiesta". 2 tables of 7 & 1 table of 8. I got to make my first seating chart last night Of course I will post pics!

I just realized I haven't updated this thread at all lately. A LOT has been going on... Turns out the doc I was seeing is a QUACK and I am no longer seeing him. (Looong story) Anyways, I got into an excellent Integrative (holistic) doctor who is absolutely wonderful. He put me on several high quality supplements and compounds (Adrenal Compound (called Drenamin, OTC), Armour Thyroid Hormone (Prescription required), B12, Vit D, Vit. C, and this complex juice-like thing that you drink that has all of your vitamins and helps balance the neurochemicals in your brain). He confirmed the diagnosis of Hyperthyroidism as well as Adrenal Fatigue (my adrenals are shot!). Also, he agrees with the gut reaction I've had for a long time that all of this is tied to a freak accident which occurred during a wisdom teeth removal surgery last May. It is just too big of a coincidence - before the surgery I was a happy, healthy 23 year old, and now I'm a 25 year old who feels like she's 80.. He suspects that I have something called a "cavitation" Understanding Jawbone Cavitations & Their Relationship to Disease. Basically if this is the case then there could be lots of bacteria and toxins where the dry socket was (they accidentally left a medicated gauze in the wound for 1 month+ and that is when all this illness began). These toxins then leak into your bloodstream, and have the possibility of affecting every organ in your body. Very bad news. One of the ladies who works with my current doctor said that after hearing my case she spoke with a holistic dentist in AZ who had a patient in his early 20's who was bed-ridden for months. No one at the MAYO clinic could figure out what was wrong. This dentist found a cavitation in his jaw bone, fixed that and 6 months later he is healthy as a horse and back at school. If this is what has been causing everything then we will be filing a medical malpractice lawsuit. Unfortunate, but we do not have insurance so all of this has been costly not to mention has pretty much ruined my life for the past year and a half!!! As for the Hypothyroidism/Adrenal Fatigue (which I may still have), the doc said I should start feeling better in 2-3 months, at 6 months I will feel very good, 6-8 months the extra weight will come off (right in time for my wedding - yeah!! ), and in a year I will "be jumping over buildings". Very exciting! For now he is keeping me on all the meds the other doc prescribed (pain, muscle relaxers, anti-anxiety, etc.) and then as I start to get better in about 6-8 wks he will begin to ween me off of those. I definitely have my "good" days and "bad" days but there is hope in my future! (Although I am kinda dreading Aunt Flow coming to visit because that is when the pain and fatigue seem to be at their worst) Anyways, just thought I'd share my progress with y'all. Please keep your stories updated as well so that we may all continue to learn and grow with each other. I'm sure other ladies will face this as well and this thread will be an invaluable source of info and support for them Best wishes to all of you out there going through similar situations!

Personal health question, kinda embarrassing
JaimeLynne replied to stacey's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Hi Stacey, these are possibly red flag signs of Hypothyroidism. There is a thread started on here about it, but you can also google it. Here's the BDW thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t6436 Somewhere in there I posted a list of common symptoms. If you go to your doc, have them check NOT ONLY your "TSH" but also your "Free T3" and "Free T4" levels. Hope that isn't it and that you feel back to normal soon, but in case it is and you wanna talk feel free to email/pm me... -

Nicole recommended El Arrayan, have you contacted them? We were close to having ours at Los Burros Bar, the prices were cheap and it was on the sand (literally!) but we wanted to get away from the beach so we switched it up. Asian-Mexican fusion?? really? Hmm, I guess we only had the tortilla soup & a margarita so we didn't pay much attention... figured it would be more "mexican" food... We passed by Los Burros Bar - way more informal, not exactly what we were looking for. Looks more like a great place to grab a beer KWIM? Nicole also recommended El Arrayan to us - unfortunately we never made it there to try it out! Booo We would like A/C tho now that I think about it.... I'm assuming El Arrayan is in a closed restaurant w, A/C??

(I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this or not, so mods feel free to move the thread if necessary.) I am currently earning a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Travel & Tourism (with a special emphasis on Spanish language and Mexican culture) - my career goal upon Graduation is to become a Travel Agent. I am 2 classes away from graduating, however due to some health issues I will not be able to attend on-campus classes this Fall. That said, I Googled "University of Texas Online Courses" and found a section under "Continuing Education/Career Development" with a specific course for students wishing to go into the TA field. This is what the website says: Quote: Travel Agent This nationally recognized Travel Agent online course and training program will prepare students for the Institute of Certified Travel Agents TAP Certification. Students learn the basic skills needed to operate a computer reservation system. This program consists of two modules including a Travel Career Development module and an interactive reservation system module. For the reservation system module students get their choice of SABRE, WORLDSPAN, APOLLO, GALILEO, or AMADEUS GDS system. All materials included. CEUs: 20.00 Hours: 200.00 That's all it says. I have no clue what SABRE, WORLDSPAN, APOLLO, etc. are. The class costs $1,595. I am going to need something to keep me busy during the Fall semester so that I don't go stir-crazy. I can't really get a job anywhere until my energy levels get back up which the doc says could take up to 6 months. Eventually, I plan on interning for a local travel agency and then seeing where it goes from there. So, does this course sound familiar at all?? Do you think it would be helpful/worth the money?? I've spoken with 2 TA's so far (including Tammy host about a year ago - thanks Tammy!) so I know some of the downsides of the biz, but am still very interested. I have 7 years sales experience in the Art Gallery business, but am looking to switch careers. Most of my clientele at the Art Gallery I currently work for are high-end, so my hope is that I could offer travel services to them and work in Luxury travel (specializing in Mexico and other Latin/South American countries). Opinions on this particular course, as well as any other advice that you may have for me, would be greatly appreciated! TIA! ~ Jaime
