My Surprise Bridal Shower Was Sunday
JaimeLynne replied to DanielleNDerek's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Love the theme and how they found 2 pics of you and Derek on the beach when y'all were little ones to boot!.. so cute -
So, we finally watched Smart People last night and we are going to have to go against the grain and say we liked it! You really do have to pay attention, there were so many little things that if you blink you'll miss (FI caught a lot of them thank goodness, lol) but all in all it was pretty funny in an odd sort of way. We watched it all the way through without falling asleep which is saying something lately (ok so I did fall asleep the last 5 mins but made FI rewind it so I could finish it! haha). I like the colors in it. (I'm weird like that, I always notice the colors that movies are shot in) We also broke down and watched What happens in Vegas this weekend. Completely what my sister and bro-in-law said it was - sorta funny but totally predictable. If you're looking for something to simply veg out on, not too bad of a choice... I do think they could have done better with the choices for actors, but hey... So now I guess we need to pick 2 more! Will be back with the results

Oh geez, I'm so sorry. I definitely think he needs time away to deal with what's really going on. Guys are different from us. We want to talk, and they don't wanna talk until they're almost at the very bottom, KWIM? I definitely think some time apart is in order. Either way - let him have the chance to miss you and to be left alone with his own thoughts, give him a chance to realize what life without you and the kids would be like...

Sandals Webinar !
JaimeLynne replied to JenniferSS's topic in Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation Resorts Weddings
Darn, we already booked! Though we did get a pretty fantabulous deal -
I have not been there, however my Dad went and he wrote a song about it called "San Souci Angel" - he and my ex-stepmom got married in Puerto Vallarta at the Westin and they played that song together at the reception. Just a fun little tidbit

I know how you feel. I'm not at my heaviest but I could def stand to lose 15 or 20 lbs. But then again, I've lost almost 15 in the past year so I am proud of that! I have other things that I worry about too - since I have such an AWESOME photographer and am paying so much and the pics are so important to me I worry about my freckles, scar on my face, extra fat, etc. etc. etc. I don't want to ruin her beautiful work! Typing that out makes me want to smack myself though LOL We are all unique and beautiful. No one can be you or look like you and YOU are the one marrying the love of your life. I think we all need to remember that. Our fiances love us and lust for us - they don't scrutinize us like we do ourselves. Think positive and keep in mind all the great advice for all the ladies and I think you'll do fine! Great thread btw

JaimeLynne replied to Michelle's topic in Just venting or funnies
I definitely think your FI has a point with that silver lining in that you will be home in time for Thanksgiving!!! Imagine all that you will have to be thankful for I can only imagine your apprehension. I think Jason had some awesome words or encouragement/advice. And very cool that they have a computer! BDW can be a lifesaver in events like that "LIVE STRONG!" ~ Jaime -

I'm so bummed to hear that "Smart People" was bad...we were going to watch that this weekend! One of our friends told us it was good Dammit. We also saw "21" and enjoyed it. Even though I read the poor review on "Smart People", we decided to get it anyways because we really like Ellen Page. Haven't watched it yet, but will update. We did watch "Be Kind Rewind". I do NOT understand my BFF's taste in movies because she swore up and down that this was the best, funniest movie, blah blah blah and we just thought it was weird. Wouldn't recommend it. We also just picked up "What Happens in Vegas" with Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher cause my sis and bro- in law said it was really funny - completely predictable but still funny. We'll see about that Oh and the best movie we saw recently in the theater was Swing Vote. I love that movie! I cried, I laughed, I got angry... the little girl steals the show. It also makes me look at the whole political thing going on right now in a completely different manner. Highly recommend (ok, just want to add it's not the best movie I've ever seen in my life for those of you like me who when you hear things like that are often let down but it really was good! haha)

Oh my God, Shelly I am so incredibly sorry that you're having to go through this at this age! And also so sorry for the loss of your Mom. Wow... I'm crying for you. Hang in there sweetie. You sound very strong. I know how hard it is to be young and sick and watching your friends succeeding at life while you have to sit in the background...and my mom also passed away when I was young. My heart goes out to you. I am praying for you. -
Oh also I forgot to recommend this from the drugstore: - Purpose Natural Cleanser I used to swear by it. It's the gentlest thing ever!

I just switched to a pure organic line - kinda pricey but it lasts 2-3 months for one bottle ($30, you can get free shipping too at Skinterra: Your Personal Skin Care Clinic) The line is called SoPhyto (they're amazing!!) You can do a free skin analysis Sophyto Organics - Professional Certified Organic Skin Care Products and they are SOOO helpful and not afraid to point you to other products and/or analyze the current products you have. Anyways, just in case you're interested in going that route, I'd suggest trying the SoPhyto Ultra Mild Silken Cleanser.

I was thinking, jeez, I'd better log on or I might not know that she got it and *poof* here it is!

Gosh, for the life of me I cannot remember if I've posted that we booked our HM or not (things have been chaotic and I've been MIA from here so if I have someone just knock me over the head ). I did a search tho and didn't see it so here goes it... WE BOOKED 8 NIGHTS AT THE ROYAL PLANTATION IN OCHO RIOS, JAMAICA!! We are so over the moon! First it was going to be 6 nights, then 7... now 8! Deposit, Air and Trip Insurance have all been paid for! We'll be gone May 28th (coming back from Mexico on the 27th so we'll have one night at home to recoup which is nice) thru June 5th. We're staying in the HM 1 bedroom Suite. For details (including PICS) go here: Jaime & Martin Big thanks to TA Jennifer for all her help on this!!!! I absolutely cannot WAIT! Yeah mon!

Great idea Jacq! Let's see... We recently rented "No Country for Old Men" (I think that's what it's called) - well, the cinematography was great I thought but I admittedly passed out half way through, but the guys stayed up to finish it and said they were very disappointed (and they were the ones who wanted to see it!) Just saw Baby Mama last night. It was just OK we thought - expected a little more. We rented The Great Debators with Denzel Washington and thought that was good. Uhmmmm... "Atonement" - well, we thought it sucked. Surprisingly. Miss Pettigrew Lives Another Day - Martin passed out on that one. lol. It was ok. Different from what I expected. Kind of surreal, like you're reading a book that's not quite set in reality. Overall I guess I liked it though. "The Other Boleyn Girl" - well, we saw it at the theater but it's out. I LOVED that movie!!! Two thumbs up! We just got Be Kind Rewind starring Jack Black & Mos Def. My MOH keeps suggesting it, so we'll see... will let y'all know. Great thread!!

Thanks everyone. Sorry, I've been MIA for a few weeks. However, did want to update this thread... I've been talking with a Bio Esthetician from SoPhyto for awhile now and finally got on a skin care regimen that is working for me. FIRST off, we got a Water Alkalinizing Machine that also has a setting for "Acidic - Face Wash". Basically you need your face to be at a pH of below 5, and all products you use must be this pH or lower if you have acne - so check all your products and don't hesitate to ask the makers! If they're worth anything (i.e. don't have anything to hide) then they'll tell you! Well, after a few weeks of strictly using that (and my normal routine) my face drastically started improving. The esthetician that I was talking to was so impressed by this machine that she's looking into one for herself. I didn't even need to use face wash! Crazy... Anyways, I just started my new holistic/organic skin care line yesterday and already my face looks so beautiful! This is what I'm using so far (until I can afford to upgrade and get 2 more products to add in): 1) SoPhyto Deep Pore Cleansing Face Wash 2) Using a cotton pad, gently wipe my face with acidic water 3) Soak a cotton pad in SoPhyto's Tone & Balance SuperBioactive, and use that to completely remove the face wash (if you're using it to remove makeup it may take a few cotton pads FYI) 4) Apply 6-8 SoPhyto Polyphenyl Drops I do this AM and PM Eventually I will probably get the Mild Silken Cleanser (or whatever it's called) for removing my makeup at night, and the Skin Energizing Drops to use after the Polyphenyl drops. All of this is so exciting to me - I've found a new passion and am going to look into selling products like this or maybe doing some sort of consulting basis... not sure yet, just know I love it and it makes me happy to pass it all on to other people too!!! Ahhhhhh, my face is thanking me OOOOH AND I CUT OUT MILK/DAIRY!!!! WOW! By about 85% (never realized exactly how much dairy I consumed!!). I'm sure that is helping too, but let me tell you - my allergies are almost completely GONE! Before that I used to have CONSTANT drainage from the time I woke up til the time I went to bed. Not good. I can definitely tell when I have some cheese or something now that it kicks back up a little. It's been really difficult but so worth it and I still let myself "cheat" a bit so I'm not totally deprived
