That is an AWESOME deal! Martin got one for himself as his "new job bonus" We are lovin' it! Seriously, we rent everything on BluRay now. Even Romantic Comedies and things like that - LOL Uhhhmmm... he got me Sleeping Beauty and it is great to watch on the BluRay! But yeah definitely movies like the new Batman, and Iron Man (I'm probably gonna get this for Martin for Xmas)... uhmmmm... gosh, I'm totally blanking out!!! Whatever you get will be great. It makes the sound quality amazing. have fun!!! -

Las Caletas wedding review Nov 12, 2008
JaimeLynne replied to HolleyC's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
I have not seen the pics yet, but great review! Glad to hear you liked Fajita Republic - that's where we are planning our Welcome Dinner. From the sound of your post though, it seems like there may be 2? One in Downtown PV and one in NV? It sounds like your wedding was brilliant! CONGRATS!! -
His parents may not come!

Stick with your guns. That's my advice. -
Looking for a toy to keep our dog entertained.

LOL - Obi sounds adorable!!! Good advice about switching the toys. I try and do that when I think of it, but you're right - I should do that more often. If I had something else to give him, then I'd take away his "bone" but right now I just can't bare to do that, he's going nuts over it!! As for the tennis ball - he just chews the fuzz off and then poops it out! DOH! -
We have a 2.5 year old Miniature Dachshund named Ollie. Poor thing just seems SO bored!!! I've been sick for awhile now so most of the time I just lay on the couch. He is starting to annoy me... in a funny, cute sorta way He just follows me EVERYWHERE! And when his Dad comes home he won't even pay attention to him! He is like my little shadow. Argh!! lol All day he just gives me these puppy dog eyes that are horrible little guilt trips, and then he grunts at me in a very pathetic manner. Needless to say, Dachshunds are pretty demanding little guys. They are an awesome breed though - Ollie is just the BEST! We had to give away his "brother" a couple months ago, and he is doing SO well at my Grandparents being the only dog. But Ollie just REALLY needs/wants another companion, and it breaks my heart! The good news is we do have plans to get him one, but the bad news is that it won't be until AFTER the wedding - so next Summer. Meanwhile, I need some good toy ideas for him!!! He is a STRONG chewer! So anything with squeekies he just tears them up. Kongs don't interest him in the least... Right now I just gave him a "bone" (it's really an all-natural cow penis tendon but don't tell him that! ). That will last him a little while, but I need something that I can give him everyday to help keep him entertained. I don't like to give him these bones too often because he needs to be on a diet (he weighs 14 lbs and the vet says he should be 10-12)... plus, at $4 a pop it's hard to keep him in supply! lol OK so all you dog lovers/owners out there - what keeps YOUR little guy/girl entertained?!? We need HELP! STAT!

Can't you order it on Amazon right now? Do you still have to wait?! WHat a bummer - right before Xmas!!! -
Wow - you look stunning!! I'm also a fuschia LC bride (though my other color is teal ) I love the flowing fuschia material over the chuppa! Where did you get your BM dresses from? And also - there is a girl who is wearing a really cute teal/turquoise dress in your crowd; any idea where that came from? LOL

I nominate Jacqueline for BTB - she gives good advice to girls even though she's not technically a DW bride, so that's great of her. Plus she's just fun I still need to think about the Mrs.

Hmmm... we set up a website and asked everyone to please at least RSVP there. We've had a lot of people who have RSVPed, but we've made 2 categories: those who have "booked" (whether it's plane or hotel or both - just something!) and those who have not we placed in the "Preliminary RSVP" category. All of this is listed on our site so that everyone can see who's booked and see that the rest are being slow! HAHA jk Honestly I do think that you may need to send something else out. Maybe come up with an excuse, and send something out in Jan or Feb saying something in it like "We kindly request that you RSVP by email (or whatever) by this date. Please understand that if you do not RSVP in a timely manner, we may not be able to accommodate you." We included this wording (not exactly, but you get the point) in our mailout, and have had about 30-40 people RSVP one way or another. I personally like the idea of listing the "Travelers" on a website so that everyone can see who's going. Makes it fun for all Plus, you will need to know at least a general number of people who are attending, so that you can make concrete plans. And Jackie's right - a lot of people won't book right away. So it is important to set up a separate RSVP system IMHO. HTHs!

He said we could have stopped for that Anyway, they were fine right after that. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes until you feel better! My feet go numb like that too - it's just never lasted like this. I have my comfy, cozy house slippers on now

Oh wow! Is that a brown/reddish BOSTON?!? I didn't know they came in any color other than B&W! Tammy - she is SERIOUSLY the CUTEST little pup ever!!!! CONGRATS!!! I didn't even know dogs could have cleft palates (I had one when I was born) - that is so terribly sad that they had to pass away from that... *tear* And that poor mom being bred like that... ugh!

Saturday night we had to work a show at our art gallery. I wasn't sure that I'd be well enough to attend, but at the last minute decided it was too cool to miss (our sculptor was going to be sculpting a nude model live!) so I threw on what I had - a new, cute, long black sweater from Express, some black tights, and some big black boots. LOVE the boots, but after 4 hours on concrete floors ANYTHING will start to kill your back/legs/feet. Well, after that we went out. The first place we just sat and had wine with my Dad & his new gf. Unfortunately then I wanted to go play some pool or arcade games (don't know where that came from - lol) so we went to Lee Harvey's, where you have to walk through all of this up and down gravel/dirt mixture to get to (half the bar is outdoors). I woke up Sunday morning and realized I couldn't feel my middle toes. Strange sensation. I have one really big toe on both of my feet and then small toes for the rest, so my feet struggle sometimes. OH I think I forgot to mention (at this point I had probably had 1 too many glasses of wine ) that on the way back to the car I could hardly walk - not due to the wine overload, but because my feet were killing me! I had to hang onto Martin to walk. He walks with big strides so that was a little tough. I thought I had sprained my ankles at one point because my feet kept buckling to the sides. I figured it would go away but I still can't feel them (it's like the 2nd & 3rd toes on both feet). Doesn't hurt, I just can't feel them so it feels odd when I walk. The muscles around my ankles are super sore but even that doesn't feel like anything is "hurt, hurt" KWIM? Does that make sense?? Martin thinks I may have done some damage, but I'm thinking (or hoping rather!) that it's just something that will pass on its own. Actually I really thought they would be back to normal by now, but they're not. I've spent soooo much money in medical bills for other things that I really don't want to go see a doc unless it's something that just can't be treated at home or with time. No insurance, and this damn US health care system just stinks! I do have a chiropractor that I could go see for $50, but again - I really want to make sure (if possible) that I only go if it's something that could actually be helped. You know how when you go in with a sprain or whatever, they just tell you to put your leg up, ice it and take Motrin? Yeah, don't need to pay someone $50-100 to tell me that again! If it will heal on its own, then that would be great!!! Any thoughts?

Opinions/Experiences with Kindle, Sony E-reader, Nook or Kobo?
JaimeLynne replied to Birdie07's topic in Random Thoughts
Ok - I was reading about the Sony and someone said to download THIS software (otherwise it's pretty user-UNfriendly and tries to sell you stuff more than makes stuff accessible)... calibre This software is "free-open source" (they only ask for a donation). Ok so now I'm leaning towards the Sony! I'd love to hear others' opinions! -

Oh yeah, they also said the Kindle has a bad glare if you're out in the sun - seems the Sony version has cut out most of that... k, back to read more on the Sony version (which is also cheaper! gotta love that!)
