Hey Casey (and Ashli) - have them post their resumes up on Craigslist! (If they haven't already) Martin looked for a job in Construction Mgmt. for over a year, and then just put his resume up on CL on a whim. Well, that's how he got the fantastic job he has now! Also there are some great social/marketing groups in Dallas. LYNXX is one. I think they're having a party coming up soon to meet people for those purposes... let me check my email...

"Smart Shopper" - anyone have this?? (Good Wedding Gift I think)

They were giving this away today on the Bonnie Hunt Show. Actually it looks pretty neat!! I searched and found it for $99 w/free shipping here: Electronic SmartShopper Grocery List Maker - Unique Gift Ideas Apparently they just dropped the price (I think it used to be about $150 at places like Neiman's). Anyways, I'm kinda bummed cause I already sent out my Xmas list to the family. BUT, this would make a really cool Wedding Gift! *edit* Here's Amazon's Product Review... (where it is available for $79.99! + Free Super Saver Shipping) Amazon.com: SmartShopper SS101 Grocery List Organizer: Home & Garden Quote: Amazon.com Review This nifty organizer from SmartShopper eliminates the need to dig up a pad of paper and a pencil and try to remember what you need when you want to make a shopping list. Keep this handy device stuck to your fridge magnetically, or mount it on the kitchen wall with the included kit, and you're set to go. At breakfast when the milk runs out, simply push the Record button and say "milk." At lunch when you realize you're out of bread, push and speak again. Kids will love helping out. You can also add errands, such as going to the bank or post office. Entries are automatically alphabetized. When you push the Print button, the list is printed with errands at the top and food items by category, to make your shopping expeditions more efficient. Easy and intuitive to use, the SmartShopper is already loaded with state-of-the-art voice recognition software, a thermal printer that doesn't require ink, and 2,500 item names, for everything from brand-name cereals to antacids to paper towels. Three rolls of thermal paper are included as well. All you need to add are four AA batteries. Arrow buttons allow you to scroll through your list, delete an item if you wish, or add a customized item to the pre-loaded list. With its brushed metal exterior, large LCD window, and front-loading door for paper, the SmartShopper makes a great gift, especially for those who may have trouble writing due to arthritis and other health conditions. --Ann Bieri

Sandals test drive $149
JaimeLynne replied to hunnyhun921's topic in Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation Resorts Weddings
Sounds like a blast! I'm so geared up for our HM next May/June!!! -
Oooh Andi I'm jealous!!! Have a pina colada for me, k?? We've been on 2 site visits, and both times we stayed at the Westin in the Marina area. Loved it there, would recommend it. We tried to book there for our wedding, but they had already filled up for group reservations 1 year in advance! That's convention hotels for ya! Arghhh. Anyways, we ended up booking our whole group over at the Marriott instead. Christina also stayed there. We're going there site unseen, but I hear the hotel has just been totally renovated (renovations were supposed to be completed by the end of this year). So you might wanna check those two out - the Marina is a great little area: tons of little shops and restaurants all within walking district, Walmart is really close, AND you're VERY near the port where they pick up for LC! Also, it's not far from downtown where all the action is! Have funnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I may join this season as well! My body has been so "off" since I got sick - I've been completely sedentary and can't wait to start exercising! Since I'll have my surgery on Dec. 11th things should really start to be balancing back out by the time Season V starts! Plus as some of the other girls said, this will be great motivation for my wedding in May!!! I've never done this before so hopefully I won't mess up and be "DQ'ed"!

This would have been the only way I would have actually wanted a PS3 in our house!!! Lucky for me FI went out and bought us a badass Sony BluRay player a month ago!
-
I voted PS3 only because my Fiance is dying for one! Our rommate does have a 360 though and he rarely leaves his room - lololol I guess it has the benefit of being able to connect with all of your friends, so if you have friends who have 360s that might be a big plus... Personally I am trying to keep Martin away from both of them! (we already have an old XBox, PS2 and a Wii!)

Sorry to hear about the little snaffoos, but I must say you are too cute! lol! I think what you're feeling is COMPLETELY normal!!!! (If that's any consolation at all ) Sorry about the B-Party, that just stinks! Are you still going through with it? Guess that just means a lil' more added stress for ya though and that much more to cram in, huh? Aren't you glad you have US to complain/vent to though?!?! I know I AM!!! Good luck sweetie - YOU'RE ALMOST THERE!!!!!! -

(Not enough sleep I guess ) Kinda sad when it's half named after you.... LOLLOLOLOL (my middle name is Lynne, and my Dad's biz partner's 10 year old son is named Samuel) Glad you liked the gift ideas! I have a LOT of extra time on my hands lately...

Cute! Sarah - you and your hubby look so figgin' cute together out in the woods! AND I really love that teaser "inside" shot (I think that's what it was called...?) How much fun - I'll bet you and Tammy just had a blast getting together! I'm a little jealous... haha Tammy, I'm still crossing my fingers that you'll somehow (by the grace of God - LOL) make it out to Dallas one day! I love your work - especially your pet photos (not that these aren't great OF COURSE, but ya know how it is having a furbaby ) and would sooooo love to have you snap photos of our little fam' (aka Me, Martin & the O-Dawg ) Sarah, again - you look GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

I saved like $500-600 off retail pricing (normally $749, I got it for about $190 shipped and all from Amazon!!), and it's one of the highest models (if not the highest)... (I think I soooo lucked out on this tho - LOL!) Amazon.com: Garmin nüvi 650 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator: Electronics I'm pretty stoked about him getting this gift! It's kind of frivolous but hell - that's what Xmas is for to a certain extent... in my book at least! lol He did mention it and I think he def. has a clue ... but probably no idea that it's this nice of one! I also got him some Black Pumas (he got some awesome brown ones last year for Xmas that are starting to wear out). And then I think I'm just gonna get him little gadgets and things for his new GPS!!!! WOOHOOOO!!! Oh, and BluRay movies/stocking stuffers and things like that too... We actually celebrated his bday last night (which is today Nov. the 30th) so for that I got him this: Stuhrling Original 'Shark' Men's Easy-read Swiss Watch Stuhrling Original 'Shark' Men's Easy-read Swiss Watch from Overstock.com It was kinda hard to judge his rxn given that we were in the company of friends but I think he really likes it! Also got a terrific deal on that - Retail$250, I paid around $90-ish with shipping from Overstock.com It's tough around here with his bday so close to Xmas! (Not to even mention the economy... aye yi yiiiiiiiiiiiii ) BUT Xmas is my FAV holiday and I LOOOOOVE giving gifts to people (seriously maybe more than I like receiving them - I know, I'm kinda odd like that - hahahaha). Plus, I'm totally one of those people who feels like everybody should get their own special BDAY celebration! Soooo I try and make sure that I give at least one "Big" present at BOTH his Bday and then Xmas.... OOOOOOH!!!!! I also talked to my Dad about letting Martin pick out a tiny miniature painting of his. For those of you who do not know, my Dad is a very successful artist based out of Dallas, TX who is soon to be exhibited internationally (can you tell I'm a proud daughter?! lol) www.samuellynned.comMy Dad and I are going to go out to dinner to discuss this with Martin this evening - should be fun! Martin's been DYING for his very own personal "table top miniature" (as we like to call them; about a 4x6 small painting with a killer rich frame on it) Hell - my EX still has a 24x24 painting of my dad's hanging prominently in his "new house" (with the "new gf") so why the hell shouldn't Martin get his own?!!? SOOOOOOOO VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT!!! He's gonna flip!! Cutie pie!!!! Uhhhmmmm what else - oh yeah, on the bday front...I also filled a bag with car magazines (Man room? LOL) and Mike & Ikes (his fav!) & Buffalo Flavored SPicey Doritos. And I gave him a Red Bull with his other present today. He rarely gets these things so he totally appreciates them! Unfortunately the Red Bull kept him (and me!) up most of the night but oh well.... you only have 1 bday a year! hahah Oh man he's gonna enjoy relaxin' to all the rest of later today! lololol He deserves it though - he's an awesome guy Ok how do I always end up writing freaking novels??! Ciao for now!

Alright - this one really is tough. I couldn't even nominate one of y'all because you are all SO great! I've gotta think on this one...
-
oh crap. i had a funeral yesterday so had not heard of this...thanks for the heads up. very sad indeed.
-
Oh that's right... the holidays are busy... LOL *DUH* Well shoot then! Stinks that she most likely be able to make the parties. I'll miss her! Well, I think we are at the very least planning on getting together just the two of us - I'll probably use it as an extra excuse to try on my dress And then hopefully we will have a few BM dress choices already picked out so that she can try hers on and get it in the right size, etc.

I have a BM who is very special to me, and who has gone to great lengths to save up to come to my wedding. She is my closest friend from College - we majored in Spanish together. ANYWAYS... she was accepted into this bad ass pharmacy school and so she now lives in a small city in South TX (Kingston, I think??). Her schedule is BUSY BUSY BUSSSSYYYYY!!!!! And the ONLY chance she will have to be back in Dallas before the wedding is coming up over Christmas/New Year's Here's my question: Is it rude to ask my MOH and other BM if it would be possible to host a shower while she's in town over the Holidays?? It would mean SO much to me (and her!) if she could be included in something like this... but how do I go about this? My MOH is pretty chill and down to earth, so I'm thinking she'd be ok with it - but I'll admit, it IS early... My Grandma has also said that she wants to host a "BM Luncheon" (I think that's what it's called?) for me. Maybe I should ask her instead...?? I know my MOH has plans for a bachelorette and/or bridal shower for me, and my other "in-town" BM has plans for a fancy little "Lingerie Party" for me. What do y'all think Y'all are my "go-to girls" on this, ya know! Opinions greatly appreciated! TIA!
