Custom Linen Suits $99!
JaimeLynne replied to FoxyBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
fyi, we decided to go ahead and order a suit that FI has tried on... so we'll not be looking into this further. Good luck to those of you who do though! -
UGH Andi! We just sent out our formal invites on Tuesday, and put the final RSVP date as April 24th. They all received their STDs very early (can't remember when exactly but like 8-12 months before the wedding), and then we sent out info packets around November of '08 (I think - my concept of time is faltering). On our info packets we put something like "Kindly RSVP asap. Please understand that if you do not RSVP in a timely manner, we may not be able to accommodate you." We just had one friend book last week who never even RSVP'ed - so weird cause we haven't even seen him in like 4 months! He just decided to hop on the flight with some of our other friends... we're happy to have him of course, but kinda strange... he still hasn't RSVPed but I know his flight is booked because my MOH booked with him! lol! I think with the economy a lot of people are having to wait until the last minute to see what their finances will be like. Which I understand. However, an RSVP would be nice if you even *think* you're coming. I don't mind if you change it to "No", but please give us an idea! I mean it will cost us around an extra $75-85 a person... if 10 extra people booked without RSVPing that would be nearly a grand that was not budgeted for. I know at least a few in our group are waiting to see and if they do, will probably book at the last minute... Maybe people are seeing how cheap the flights are getting right now?? We just booked my hair/makeup artist for R/T DFW to PV for $375 which is a great deal!

I'd go ahead and create a registry somewhere, so that people who want to give you an actual gift can do so. Etiquette is for your bridal party/close family to spread the word about where you are registered if people ask. But yes, definitely do not put it on the invite.
-
Go Kat!!! Weird, I wonder why mine are not showing up - maybe they registered just before the start, or just haven't posted enough...
-
Yeah I was thinking maybe if they were the hosts then that is your present... is that the case, were they the ones who threw the shower for you? Or have they done other things like that for you?

*** Alert! Possible fraud... just had to cancel Debit Card..

I just did not know to look for that or for that exact amount so it freaked me out, especially after hearing about all the "worm" crap. Btw, anyone know if that "worm" actually did anything today?? I haven't watched the news... *EDIT* Here is an update from CNN.com No problems so far as April Fools' computer worm awakens - CNN.com Looks like we're ok! Biggest impact will just be on network traffic... phew! -
diamond white color and ivory??
JaimeLynne replied to jls62081's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I also have a diamond white dress. FI is going to wear a very light khaki colored suit. No one else gets to wear white! Except my bms jewelry will be sort of white-ish with pearls and such. -

FYI, the $4,500 did turn out to be a valid charge... was from our TA from the HM. Miscommunication... gonna go deal with the bank tomorrow... Phew, that sure did wake me up though! We went out and bought some awesome security software - "Kaspersky". Supposed to be better than Norton and McAfee. Would still keep a look out on your accounts tomorrow though! -

No prob - hope it's just a fluke on my end!!! -
Ok, so that April Fool's "worm" email you've been seeing go around may in fact be true! I found what looks to be a $4,500 fraudulent charge on my Debit Card today from "PAYPAL". It looks nothing like my other paypal transactions, and nothing of this magnitude is showing up on my actual paypal account. It just had a phone number to the side and listed as coming from CA. Martin Googled the number and said it came up with all these fraud alerts. Tried calling Chase (my bank) but could not get through. Have a friend from high school who is a banker at our location, so ran up there totally freaking out on her (lol). She said their systems are down and acting really suspicious/weird. She says she's never seen anything like it, and that their security systems are supposedly right up there with the Pentagon's. FYI - we still do have one other thing to check out and make sure it's not that but went ahead and canceled the card anyways to make sure. (Paying a lot of stuff for the wedding right now, only thing left is the HM but they're based out of MI so don't think it's for that... if it is I'll feel a little silly! ) SO - watch your bank accounts closely the next day or so!!! (well always watch them, but you know! ) My friend says these hackers usually attack when the economy is down. I am not one to get caught up in all this hoopla normally, but since I found the possible $4,500 fraud charge on my account today I wanted to pass it along!! They are hoping that other customers aren't having the same issues... Please post here if you do!

So I wouldn't worry too much about it. We did tip Nicole about $100 though... Hi Lindsay Thanks, I am excited for my wedding too! Yippee! And thanks for your opinion/experience with tipping the minister.

Pamelia suggested I have her write up an email that she can print out explaining that they are only getting the sale price/discount because of all the jewelry I am purchasing for myself. And basically that I would need to pay for it all to get this deal, so that way they wouldn't have to go to the website and see everything else... This is what she suggested, however I'm not sure if it would be tacky to ask for my bridesmaids to pay me directly. Plus one lives out of town. Guess that BM would have to paypal me.... I dunno... I told Pamelia I'd ask my BDW girls to brainstorm because y'all are always good like that! Soooo, any more ideas??

duplicate post, but I'll use it to ask another question that's come up! What if the girls try and order foot jewels from Pamelia when they order their jewelry and see them on her page?? I don't think they'll want to spend the extra $$, but just in case... we need a back-up plan for Pamelia to tell them. Trying to brainstorm ideas!
