  1. Welcome! Congrats and Happy planning!
  2. Thanks for the info! I have heard of a couple of those restaurants. I'm really looking forward to Old San Juan. I've heard the best time to go is whenthe cruise ships are in port.
  3. I love 2. It won't distract from your dress and is so simple and elegant.
  4. Senor Jason and I love love love American Idol. I got him into it when we started dating. I am so excited that it's starting again. I wasn't so impressed with last season though. My favorite idol was Fantasia!
  5. Amy thanks for the information. I have heard about Guavate. Sounds so cool. Believe it or not, I think there may actually be another town dedicated to pork. I'm just imagining my husband looking at that picture of roasted pork and lusting after it and drooling. I can't look at the articles right now but definiately will later. Thanks!
  6. What a pain in the butt! Sorry you have to go through this. Good Luck! Now I'm wondering if we should have our cert translated just in case. So far, I haven't needed to.
  7. ha ha ha dear husband. I would suggest buying your wife pretty jewelry and rum punch. lol
  8. Brandi, did you stay in San Juan? Is thaat where you are talking about? Guys, don't worry about being of help. I appreciate it. Just wanted to share a little info with everyone about a place Jay and I absolutely love and would love to live someday.
  9. Okaaaaayyyy......Guess Puerto Rico isn't a popular destination but it should be. Beautiful beaches, aqua water, and inexpensive lodging and dining. I'm so excited...we leave in 6 days. What's also great is that this Carribean location is a US territory. No passports and airfare from NY is cheap! Anyhow, just figured there was someone out there in BDW land that has visited or lived in PR and had a few tips for us. Please share if you do!
  10. Thank You so much Tammy for everything you do! This site is not only an invaluable resource but has sparked many friendships. It must be great because some of us old married folks refuse to leave. lol. Sometimes i feel like the 20 something that still hangs out with the high school kids but I love it! lol. Congrats!!!
  11. I would totally talk to your alterations person re this. They may be able to work some magic. I totally agree about looking at your undergarments. A change in bra can make all the difference. If you loved the dress when you picked it out, I'm sure its the one. You will look beautiful and you FI will think you are beautiful no matter what. Every bride is beautiful on her wedding day no matter what! It's the law.
  12. Hi and welcome! My husband Jason posted before me. Anyhoo, to answer some of your questions: ~Did you use the resort photographer or are you planning on it? We hired an outside photographer Vannssa Vargas who was absolutely wonderful. She did great work and was reasonably priced. ~Did you have a private reception? is it worth spending extra $ on? We didn't have any guests so we just had a private luncheon for 2 on the beach after the ceremony. The staff seem to be so accomodating. I'm sure they can put together anything you have in mind within reason. ~Did you stay in the honeymoon suite or a regular room? is it worth the extra $ for the honeymoon suite? We stayed in an ocean view jr. suite which I believe was an upgrade. It was huge, lavish, and suited our needs. ~Did you/are you planning on getting married on the beach or in the chapel? ~If you have gotten married there already and you were married on the beach is it right infront of everyone at the resort or semi-private? Can you request it semi-private? maybe move it down the beach a little? We got married on the beach at 10:30 am near the dive shop. There were a few bystanders but not too many. I didn't notice until I heard clapping after we kissed. I think it's hard to avoid but didn't take away from our experiance. Sandra took us on a little tour when swe got there to show us our choice of ceremony sites. We really had a wonderful experiance at Dreams and had the wedding of our dreams there. lol. no pun intended.
  13. I've been on WW for the past 2 years. I lost 40 lbs on my own but joined WW to lose the last 25 which has been a big challege. For some reason it's been harder to lose the last few pounds. Just to echo everyone else. Definately eat all your points. I'm on the Core plan and I love it! I find it more satisfying than flex plan and it forces me to focus on eatinghealthy foods rather than spending my points on unhealthy foods. I would also add that I find meetings imperative to maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle. But that's me. Good Luck!
  14. Oh Jamy you know lots!! lol! Thanks! I can't wait!
  15. The Lamberts are headed for some much needed R & R in Puerto Rico. We will be staying in the Rincon area from 1/17 to 1/24. We will be hanging out in Rincon being beach bums for most of the time but plan to go to a local patron saint festival and do a day trip to Old San Juan. Oh and my husband insists we go to a place known as "Pork Rind City". lol. Can you tell Jason loves pork? I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for restaurants or bars or other points of interest in Old San Juan or the Rincon area or neighboring towns.
  16. Wonderful Review! I'm sorry your cocktail hour disappointed you. Were there other weddings that day? It seems like DT just don't have enough staff to effectively manage multiple weddings. We were married at the same spot you guys were. Thanks again for the great review.
  17. I like passport covers or koozies. T-shirts with a cute message would be fun but might be pricey.
  18. Welcome! My husband Jason (lambert13) and I were married at Dreams Tulum July 2007. We are both members on thr forum and would be happy to help.
  19. At any wedding I've ever attended, the majority of gifts have been monetary gifts anyhow. I don't know that you need to worry about registering for mortgage contributions.
  20. Make sure you have your TA request an upgrade as it is your wedding/ honeymoon or request it yourself. You just might get the jacuzzi suite at junior suite price. We got an upgrade and some other little extras as well. If money is no object then go for the jacuzzi suite!
  21. IMO I would do no more than 2 perhaps 3 at the most. Having options is nice but too many may be overwhelming for a guest and could appear tacky. I would mention ideas for large ticket items if asked to those who are most likely to buy them like parents and grandparents. Shower gifts may come from the registry but i find that the majority of wedding gifts are monetary gifts. You could always earmark cash gifts for the washer and dryer.
  22. Congrats and Welcome! I've been to Napa and think it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Wonderful choice.
  23. very cute!! We ordered our announcements and AHR invites from Vista Print and loved them. Such good prices too!
