  4. I would definitely email Chandlyn directly to say hi!

The bus drivers are usually very entertaining also and tell you all sorts of stories. It seemed like it flew by!
  6. The transfers from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios are No Problem these days Mon! The highways have been completely re-done, they are smooth, paved, and better than a lot of roads I've seen in Canada and the US! Our bus travelled non-stop to the resort and we had no problems or delays, and just enjoyed looking at the scenery!
  7. Those are beautiful! Michael got some great shots, I love the one he captured of you at the altar with your eyes getting teary! So sweet! His work is getting better all the time. I love your dress, you look smokin'!! I also love that you did a thank you pic, I like to think I was the inspiration for it, even if I wasn't, ha ha!
  8. My hubby and I had always dreamed of going to Jamaica, but didn't think it was affordable from Canada. But we looked into it and were pleasantly surprised! We needed a resort that would have something for everyone, since we were having a couple of very young children, a couple of "tweens" and then adults on up to my 82 year old grandmother. We really liked the convenience and affordability of an all-inclusive resort for us and our guests. My hubby had heard really good things about the Riu chain, and as soon as he found out there were liquor dispensers in the room, he was sold, LOL! It also helped that it was one of the most affordable resorts in Jamaica at the time, was fairly new, and got really good reviews everywhere I checked! I have absolutely no regrets about our choice, it was an amazing, beautiful resort and every one of our 40 guests enjoyed it!
  9. I could be wrong, but I seem to recall a Valeria working at the Riu head office, which is not in Jamaica, it's in Mexico perhaps? I think she's a Wedding Sales Coordinator, but not an on-site wedding coordinator like Chandlyn. You should perhaps email Chandlyn directly just to make sure your communication won't get lost in the shuffle. Sorry, I dont have Chandlyn's email address handy, but someone here can probably post it for you!
  10. Hi JesJess, When you are facing the ocean, the beach gazebo is at the farthest left corner of the resort. I think the Mammee Bay restaurant would be perfect for your dinner, it is an open air restaurant, and they will put you and your guests on the balcony overlooking the ocean. It's very private and the food is delicious. Many of us ROR brides have had our dinners at Mammee Bay, you can look through our reviews with pics to find some photos. There are some reviews in this Jamaica section, and some in the main part of BDW under "Wedding Reviews".
  11. I'm glad it worked! Your pics are great! Is the little guy your son? He is so cute!
  12. Hi Serena, a better way to post a link so that everyone can see them without joining Facebook is to open the album in your Facebook, and at the bottom of the page of your photos there should be this wording: Show people this album by sending them this public link: and then you copy and paste THAT link and it will work much better!
  13. FINALLY I can read this thread! I just finally went last night with a group of 10 girls! We had to wait for one of our girlfriends to come in from out of town to see it with us all. (I did wear my cutest pair of shoes, LOL!) Overall, I LOVED it!! Charlotte's acting was the best of the movie IMO. The scene with her reaction to Big after Carrie hit him with her bouquet is what got me crying, her eyes were SO expressive! I also loved her crapping her pants and her running into Big and her water breaking. She is an excellent actress, I loved her more in this movie than I did all throughout the series. Did anyone notice though while they were watching the fashion show, she didnt look pregnant anymore? I was like, WTF, did she have her baby and they didnt show it? Then the next scene her baby bump was back. I thought that the Jennifer Hudson role was a little awkward at times... I could have done without Big and Carrie getting married in the end. I liked that they got back together, because, really, they belong together. But the entire series was about women not "needing" men to complete them and not needing marriage, so I would have been happy if they just decided they were meant to be together but didn't need the legal binding of marriage... But overall it was excellent, I am totally buying it when it comes out on DVD! OH, and I would LOVE to look as good as all of the ladies do when I'm in my 40's and 50's!!

I think it's just his way of getting paid for his time!
  15. I used Michael and the proofs were ready at the Photoshop the next day, we spent the day after that selecting the ones we liked and then later that day they were ready to be picked up!
  16. Hi ladies! You might want to check out this thread in the "General Wedding Info" section of BDW - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1058
  17. Hi all, not to panic just yet! I used Michael and was very happy with him. If you scroll down the price list and see "Section C", you can get a large amount of photos on CD for much less $. We purchased the Classic package where you get your 10 prints and then we got 100 pictures on CD. They are extremely high resolution and good quality. I then got all the pics printed at Costco when I returned and it turned out to be pretty cost effective. Hope that helps! Oh, and I paid by traveller's cheque anyway, because the photoshop always did charge a 5% surcharge when you paid with a credit card so I elected to pay with traveller's cheques...
  18. What a great idea! And I think it's really smart to make sure they become active members too, not just someone clicking on a link! I really loved sending brides on tripadvisor and Facebook to BDW, I know it helped so many of us! I have 5 referrals but they probably were before this contest started. I'll ramp up my game now!
  19. I also had my dinner reception at Mammee Bay and had the same set up and location as geology_rocks. It was great! We never noticed any other diners and the meal was absolutely delicious! We also chose to have our reception in the disco (I love to dance and it was more cost effective!) and we had a blast in the disco!! Read my review (link below my signature) for more pics.

  21. Here's one from YouTube! Mine has different editing but this gives you an idea of what to expect. This one also cuts short but the same poster also posted "Part 2" on Youtube. YouTube - Our Jamaica Wedding
  22. The wedding DVD is a video, so it's not photos timed to music, it's an actual recording of your ceremony with audio of the ceremony, etc. We got one and really love it, we showed it at our AHR which gave everyone the opportunity to see what it was like and feel like they were a part of it! I dont know how to upload it, but I did read somewhere on here that some of the ROR wedding DVDs are on Youtube , so maybe try searching there?
  23. I am so happy for Desmond and Penny... but I worry about next season because Ben will likely go after Penny because she's Mr. Whidmore's daughter! I am worried about at the end that Sun tipped Mr. Whidmore off to there being more survivors... eeek... How awesome was the chemistry between Kate and Sawyer as he gave her that kiss before jumping out of the helicopter? I can't wait until next season!
