  1. Hi ladies, I also noticed the other day that Jamaica's tourism website, Jamaica.com has been updated and is AMAZING! You can search for the Riu Ocho Rios and it will come up with a map of the resort which you can click and bring up photos and virtual tours. VERY cool and probably very helpful for brides to be!
  2. Congratulations! Your pictures are gorgeous and it looks like you had a dream wedding day!

The back was done by the bridal store however, they altered it themselves and I loved it and bought it as it was!

I believe the dj's name was Prince, and he did act as an MC as well... he announced our first dance, father/daughter mother/son dance, etc. I just did up a little list for him with our choice of songs (We gave him a CD we had burnt with our songs we wanted to hear at first) and he announced everything and was great! I was very happy with him and gave him a $40 tip, (I think, it may have been more, I was heavily into the rum runners by the time I tipped him, hee hee!)

I paid for each of the bridesmaid's bouquets, but it was a minimal cost (sorry I cant remember the $ amount). They are not an upgrade so it was very affordable.
  7. This was our cake. It was just the free cake, chocolate and cherry filling, very yummy! I honestly would not put too much thought or concern into the cake. Everyone was having so much fun at dinner, the food was so delicious, the cake was really like an afterthought. We took pics of the cake cutting and some people had a piece, but we were allp retty full from dinner and ready to move on to the party right away!
  8. At the Riu Ocho Rios, we brought our own burned CDs and gave him a little playlist with the first songs we wanted to hear, and other songs we would LIKE to hear. He did an excellent job with sensing what the crowd wanted to hear and playing the right tempo songs at the right time. They have modern top hits music, especially the hip-hop/dance/R&B stuff. We had a blast!

And yes, Sally, you can print off as many as you want when you get home if you get the CD.
  10. This thread should have all the answers for you: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t22851 Yes, the Photoshop at ROR also does videos. I had them do both my video and photos and was very happy. You can see samples of my photos in my review, the link is in my signature.

That price is the total for your high resolution photos provided on CD. I then just took the CD home and printed all the photos at Costco, which was much more cost effective than having the photos printed at the resort. Definitely the way to go!
  12. I was married at the beach gazebo and dh was facing away from where we walked down, and the beach gazebo location has several palm trees that will shield you from view. If he's REALLY trying to see you, he'll have to crane his neck to see you, but my dh laid his eyes on me for the first time right when I was walking down the aisle! Yes, some of your guests may be able to see you as they are more able to turn in that direction... but there's not too much that can be done about that...
  13. Welcome fellow Northern Albertan! Welcome to this great forum, you will find a ton of great ideas here!
  14. Congratulations! I think we'd all love to see some pictures of the Riu Tropical Bay and of your wedding!

  16. Yay, I was looking for your review and pics! Glad all went well, and your TTD pics are STUNNING!

I had seen that particular set up back in the early days of ROR planning... I really liked it so I requested it and just paid extra for it. I cant remember the exact costs now but I think I did mention them in my review... I loved them so I dont regret paying the extra $!
  18. It looks like the links I had posted in my review might have expired, so here they are again, this should work: Janelle Hein MacRae's Photos - WEDDING! Professional Pics Part 1 | Facebook Janelle Hein MacRae's Photos - Wedding Professional Pics Part 2 | Facebook
  19. I used Michael the resort photographer and we loved his work and are very happy with our photos. I have a link to my wedding review in my signature and you can click on that and there are links to all 118 of the pics I purchased! I posted some of his pics on page 1 and the links to all pics are on page 6 of the review.
  20. Great review! Can't wait to see your pictures!
  21. I was married at 4 PM in Feb, and I still had beautiful blue sky pictures followed by some where the sky was turning pink. You will be fine, no worries!

  23. I think they look amazing! Love your outfits!
  24. This isn't the greatest picture, but it will sort of give you an idea of the table setup, we had 42 people: I would email Chandlyn for the table dimensions, she should be able to help you out. There definitely isnt a lot of room for centerpieces, so I think your idea would look very nice. The white tablecloths are provided by the resort.
  25. Gorgeous pics and great review! So glad to hear of another successful ROR wedding!! I really love the all-white, it looks so "beachy" and refreshing!
