  1. UG. We flew Air Transat from Calgary. They didnt have room in their closet for my dress, so I had to fold it up and put it in the overhead bin. Then other passengers put all their stuff on top of my dress!!! GRRR. So then I got up and moved stuff around. It wasnt the greatest. Luckily the humidity in Jamaica helped smoothe out any creases in my dress and it was fine.
  2. Welcome back Dr. Hubby! I think I saw your table set up on the beach from my balcony! It looked sooo nice, I told my hubby I wanted to get married all over again! Cant wait to see your pics!
  3. Not really... there are palm trees everywhere but not necessarily near the ceremony site...
  4. Just in case there's interest in seeing all 118 of my pro pics, LOL, here they are, two separate links: Janelle Hein's Photos - WEDDING! Professional Pics Part 1 | Facebook Janelle Hein's Photos - Wedding Professional Pics Part 2 | Facebook
  5. Our dinner was at Mammee Bay, we didnt get introduced - didnt even think of it! LOL! I guess you could ask a family member or friend to introduce you to your guests right before you walk in to join everyone. If you have a DJ hired for the Plantation, you could ask the DJ to do this for you before you walk in to the dinner. We had the disco booked from 9-11 PM and this is where the DJ introduced us and welcomed us to the dance floor for our first dance. We would have done the garter toss here too but there were only 3 single guys in our group so it didnt seem worthwhile, took time away from dancing!
  6. I figured all you picture junkies might appreciate this... LOL! This is a link to an album of my Facebook of all the pics we took that week, I actually have more that arent on here, I took a pic of the outside of the Plantation and the Kids Club specifically for your BDW ladies, so I will load those up from home tonight. 7. The Sandals Golf & Country Club is very nearby in the Ocho Rios area... but we never did see it. My hubby wanted to go golfing while we were there as well but we ended up being so busy there was never time! We also drove by a golf course in Runaway Bay which is about 20 mins from the resort or less...
  8. I wrote it under wedding reviews as well, but you looked gorgeous! Can't wait to see the rest of your pics!
  9. Yay for pics!! You looked gorgeous! Really funny - in one of your first few pics of the pool I can see my bridesmaid and her boyfriend in the background in the pool!!!
  10. Hi Therese! It looks like your pics are in Snapfish, and I am not TOO familiar with that one, but I THINK you can open each pic in your Snapfish account (helps to have a separate internet window open - 1 with Snapfish, one with BDW), then right click on the photo, go to properties, copy ALLLL the stuff in "Address URL" and then go to BDW, open a Reply window, click on the mountain icon and paste that URL there... it SHOULD work!

I only saw two other brides all dressed up the entire week I was there....
  12. I think Feb is extremely busy for her for weddings, she had at least 2 and sometimes 5 every day we were there. I heard someone say she works 12 hour days, 6 days a week! She really does need an assistant! But she is very nice and very competent, she will get back to you!
  13. It really is a great place! That is so nice that everyone was so accomodating to you DaraIrene! Chandlyn is just the nicest, sweetest, and hardest working lady ever!
  14. I am so glad you had a wonderful experience as well! It's too bad we never did run into eachother!! Maybe we did because we hung out at the suite pool too! LOL! But then I was so busy running around I didnt spend as much time at the pool as I wanted... Really looking forward to seeing your pics!!
  15. I think just one sided, but I really hope I'm giving you the correct info! And my reception was at Mammee Bay, I never did see a Plantation menu... sorry! Maybe some of the other ladies can recall. But honestly, there's really no need to do it!
  16. I think the steel drum band can play whatever you ask them to! I did notice they tend to favour Bob Marley tunes but they sound so cool on the steel drums! I am not sure what songs they played while my guests were waiting for the ceremony to begin but the guests loved them! While I walked down the aisle they played "the Wedding March". I just hired them for the ceremony, I dont think you would need to for the reception as people will be busy eating and doing speeches...

So we paid him with traveler's cheques and paid all other wedding costs with credit card.
  18. For us, there really was no real introduction... when we were at the disco, the DJ did welcome everyone and asked the "New Mr. and Mrs. MacRae to the center of the dance floor for their first dance." If you have a DJ for the Plantation, you could let Chandlyn know you want the DJ to introduce you as you walk into the restaurant. Maybe do up a script for the DJ if you have a lot of these things in mind.
  19. Ummm... I enjoyed the disco!! If you like to dance I would stick with it! Cake cutting would be done after your dinner. You can change into your dress after dinner before you go to the disco.
  20. Ummm... trying to think! Pretty sure it was regular 8.5 by 11 paper inserted into a leather bound menu...!?
  21. The resort does have them for the beach party and I saw them being set up for what looked like a wedding dinner on the beach! Definitely email Chandlyn, you SO do not want to bring those on a plane with you!
