I would suggest skipping them... the tables are fairly narrow and with people on both sides enjoying their meals, with wine on the table and everything else, there's not really enough room. Save the $! Less stuff on the table makes it easier for your guests to chat and mingle!

My bridesmaids wore a chiffon-y type and they were very comfortable, but I second the opinion that you should go with whatever you LIKE! It's your day, and anything goes! We are also having a reception at home but I'm just going to wear the same dress! I love it, I'm just getting it drycleaned.. you could always go that route, but if you want two dresses, go for it!

I forgot about this thread until someone asked me where I got my hair inspiration from! I've posted my pics in the Jamaica section, but everything went wonderfully! Everyone loved the mugs and the OOT bags, we had a fabulous time! I so wish I could do it all over again because it just went SO quickly!

I agree, dont underestimate the power of Jamaican humidity! LOL! I have never enjoyed such wrinkle-free clothing in all my life! On another note though, make sure you bring lots of hair clips for days other than your wedding day! My hair is stick straight but in the humidity it was trying to find some sort of wave or something, I dont know what it was doing, but I had little flyaway frizzy hairs all over my head. It was up in a clip all week!

Alesha - I was assuming you are getting married at Riu Ocho Rios, but I'm not sure? Mammee Bay semi-private dinner is free for up to 50 people.
-
You could just do the semi-private dinner at Mammee Bay, there is no extra cost for that. And then you all could just head to one of the bars for all-inclusive drinks, or take in some of the free entertainment!

Quick RIU Airport Transfer Question...
jmhein replied to Kishalee's topic in Jamaica Accommodations & Site
I have NO idea where your FMIL is getting her info from, but the transfers are usually provided by your tour operator or the package you booked. If transfers arent included in your package you'll have to arrange for your own... hope that helps! -
Ktownbride - you were a gorgeous bride, congratulations! I love the picture of your son playing in the sand! I didnt even know the Seagrape reception was an option, it does look pretty fabulous. Did all of your guests just dance on the beach? Would love to see more pics of the reception!

I always have to sit under the dryer FOREVER when I get my hair done so i'm wondering how they would do it in my room. Also, I noticed in one pic that your BM had a baby with her in the disco. Was that during your private time at the Disco? I have a BM who is bringing her 1 1/2 year old and we have been trying to figure out what we would do with her during the reception b/c no one wants to miss all the fun! Thanks for the great reveiw and all the pics, everything looks perfect! I'm so jealous about the room upgrade! The resort is completely booked during our wedding stay so I'm not counting on an upgrade I dont think there was an extra charge to have the hair done in my room! I had requested it in advance with the Renova Spa by email and I paid 50% deposit online. If you need a big hair dryer I am not sure how that would happen in the room either... we all started with our hair dry! Yes, my MOH brought her 8 week old baby along!! And the baby LOVED Jamaica! He was so happy with the sunshine! And another friend brought her 1 1/2 year old along as well. Both were in the disco during our private booking time, I had asked Chandlyn in advance if kids were allowed in their during the private booking and she said "No problem!" The 1 1/2 year old had a blast dancing with everyone, so I would definitely recommend that as an option for you! -

The one thing I guess I would have liked to have done was bring some sort of seating arrangement or place cards for the wedding dinner, as there was just a bit of confusion as to where the parents should sit. But other than that, I think I brought everything "personal" for the wedding and the resort provided everything else. -
Hi drhubby, we can't wait to see your pics!!! Sorry to go a bit off-topic, but what did you think of Sandals Negril? Worth the extra cost over the Riu? We went to Sandals Whitehouse for our honeymoon, and it was really nice, but I am not sure it was really worth the extra money...

I gave them to Chandlyn at our meeting and it was no problem, she placed them on the chairs for us, so she could certainly do that with your programs. Maybe only 2 or 3 people used the bubbles, LOL! People liked the fans though! -
