Anyone used white starfish?
dallas_texas09 posted a topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Hello all! I want to use white (finger) starfish for my place cards. Has anyone used them? I want to see if I should get the 2-3 inch size or the 3-4 inches? Which ones do y'all recommend? I have attached a picture so you can see what I am talking about Thanks!!!!!! -
I am using green, orange and aqua --- all of my favorite colors and great tropical colors too!

Hi Galit, since you mentioend that my wedding day is your birthday, I just want you to know that we have another connection -- I am staying at the Occidental Grand Xcaret for the wedding I won't be having my wedding there since they took MONTHS to reply to me. Very unfortunate . Are you having yours there?

I'm getting married at the Nuestra Senora del Carmen chapel in Playa del Carmen. I've hired Ajua Weddings to make the arrangements but I think you can do it on your own also. It was just easier for me to hire someone familiar with the church and who is there. My local church in Dallas prepared all of the documents and is sending it to the Diocese in Cancun. PM me if you have any questions.

I've uploaded a profile picture and when I view 'Edit Profile Picture' I can see my pic on there. However, it doesn't show when I write a post. Why is that?

I think part of the point of the seating cards or whatever you use should look cute on the table as well, to add colour to the table. So, I love these, but how do you set them up at the table. Anyone have a creative suggestion for that? I was thinking of either rolling the napkins and having the umbrellas lean against the napkin or putting them inside a wine glass. If you use them for escort cards you can stick them in sand (like the ones on Martha Stewart)

Some of our guests mailed them back folded in half and stapled. there was one which had a note from the post office stating that the dimensions were too small and another guest had theirs returned. They come back a little scuffed up but not torn at all. I love getting them in the mail. Oh, by the way. I mailed them all (2 passes, pocket) in a standard letter sized envelope. Awesome! Thanks, Amy! After hearing your story, maybe I'll remove the "Staple Here" on the RSVP pass....I can see some of my guests stapling them also. Thanks for the tip! Cat

How much postage did you use for each RSVP?

My friend who is about to get married used really small RSVP cards for her invitations and when I went to send the RSVP back to her, the post office wouldn't take it because of the size! They said I could either put an extra postage (I guess that's what you do if it doesn't meet the required size), or put it in a normal sized envelope!

I just picked up the latest copy of Better Homes & Garden's Scrapbooks, etc. magazine and they made a luggage tag out of laminating scrapbook paper/accessories. I think they just printed the information on pretty paper, decorated it, then laminated the tag. Ended up looking super cute and it seems like it'd be very inexpensive to make.

I have a dilemna. I just bought the envelopes for my boarding pass invitations. I was originally going to have my RSVPs to look like a 2nd boarding pass. However, when I went to buy the envelopes today for the invitations, I found out that they only have 1 size of open end envelopes (the next one bigger is catalogue size, which would be too big). It's big enough to fit my invitation and RSVP but not big enough to fit a 2nd envelope to use for the RSVP. My only option would be to fold the RSVP envelope but I really don't want to do that. I'm afraid it will look tacky. Does anybody have any other ideas as to how I can have my guests send the RSVPs back to me?

You might be pleasingly surprise at some of the quotes they give you. I am using Jill Higgins (also on the site).

We're doing seating arrangements just because I think it's more organized that way (I'm an organized freak!). Plus, we have friends coming from Toronto and Dallas and we'd really love for them to get to know each other better rather than just sticking with their own "cliques."

Not sure if I will use them for seating cards. I may just put them in the glasses or on the plates/napkins just to add some colors to the tables Just thought I'd share my find!

This sounds so much fun!!!! They have one in Dallas also, for those of you Dallas brides.... Jay Johnson's Boot Camp Fitness » Gone Hollywood! It's the same guy who does the boot camp for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. My sister did it and she said it works your butt off -- she said even her tiny toe hurt after the end of it!

I looked on the USPS' site and found these DC comic super heroes stamps. Since Will is a big comic fan and since we are doing informal boarding pass invitations, I think we are going to go with the super hero stamps. Not only do they reflect Will's love for comics but they are also super fun and very colorful. Love them! Product: DC Comics Super Heroes We will probably use 2 for each envelope.

You could use them to seal the invite envelopes. Oooo...thanks! That's a great idea and it would save me some money. Thanks!!!
