There isn't a place in Cabo where you can't buy Tequila! I would suggest Europea. There is one in Cabo San Lucas on the marina, one in the Corridor and one in San Jose del Cabo. Here is a link with their Tequila choices and pricing. Tequila comes in three 'ages': blanco (run away), repasado (yummy) and anejo (oldest and most expensive) and I recommend the repasado's. In particular try any of these brands: Herradura and Don Julio. Stay away from any of the cheap, sugared brands like Cuervo that you might find on the lower shelves of any U.S. store. Here is a quick and dirty article on Tequila. And lastly the cure for a tequila hangover... time!

Former Riu Santa Fe Brides:
Bradley Fraser replied to mineaux's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Whoa I got dizzy trying to watch that! That is not Santa Fe... it is in fact Riu Palace. They are right beside each other. I have photographed many weddings at Riu and it is very rare that you will see and hear a hootfest like that. Yes people hang off the edge of the infinity pool to watch the ceremony. -
Folks in Cabo right now...help!
Bradley Fraser replied to mpark46's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I live here in Cabo and I golfed 27 holes in the HOT sunshine today. Weather.com is not very reliable. For instance when they forecast 'isolated thunderstorms' it rarely happens. When it does happen (this time of year) it rains in the mountains and not in Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo. -

caterer as coordinator?
Bradley Fraser replied to MrsTorrence's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I was Amy and Todd's (Hi Amy!) photographer for their Villa wedding in Pedregal. Patricia from Lazy Gourmet was the hand's-on WC that day and I thought she did a great job. Always smiling and quietly in control. -
Sunset Time for Cabo San Lucas
Bradley Fraser replied to NABUMBAH's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Your Minister needs to check his watch but by his miscalculation he has done you a favor. Sunsets in July range around 8:00 p.m. (plus or minus 10 minutes). It is best to schedule your ceremony at least 1.5 hours before the sunset. In your case it will be around 2.0 hours. Getting the best bits of the suns last rays also depends on your location as some spots are obscured by buildings, hills or palms. All this from a photographers perspective trying to get the best light for the best photos. -
Here is a link for some great local photographers. There are many advantages to going with a local photographer.

local Cabo Officiant? recommendations?
Bradley Fraser replied to kdemaray's topic in Cabo Wedding Vendors
I second the recommendation for Marco as an Officiant, that is if you can actually book him! Marco is in big demand because he is sooo good at what he does. His demeanor for weddings is a wonderful mix of respect, history, humor and sense of place. Book him now before you cannot. -

Yesica's (Dreams WP) email is [email protected]. You could contact her directly as she will have all the answers for you. -
I am booked but try this link for some great local photographers. Good Luck!

I hope you get your dilema sorted. I would like to wade in about Marco. Whenever Marco is the Officiant I always have a big smile on my face. Marco has a wonderful presence which can only be felt live and in person. Reading his mannered repsonses here on this thread can in no prepare you for what an incredible touch he has as an Officiant. I just did a beach wedding with Marco at Casa Del Mar and he was right on the money once again! Sincere, humorous and respectful. And he always looks great.

I don't want to trip the alarm without all the information but something has come up. I am wondering for those brides that have booked (or those considering) either of the RIU hotels (Palace or Santa Fe) here in Cabo if there was an issue with outside vendors, in particular photographers. In the past I have photographed weddings at RIU without problems. A couple of months ago I went to RIU Palace to photograph a great couple from Denver and gate security DEMANDED a $100 'day fee' if I was going to be there longer than 20 minutes. The situation escalated to the lobby of the hotel where the manager on duty reiterated the extortion policy. The wedding planner at the time who was at the front desk heard everything and did nothing but walk away. I took the couple from Denver off-site to a fantastic beach nearby where we did all our photography and had a great time. I never once mentioned the problem I had with the hotel to them. Recently I received this from another RIU bride... "Thank you for getting back to me. I have inquired with the Riu and they will not let me hire an outside vender. I was thinking of..." I photograph at many locations and with most of the hotels here in Cabo so my immediate concern is not that local photographers and other vendors have lost a venue but that guests (weddings) of RIU have been denied their right of choice. Does no outside vendors include; hair, make-up, flowers, videographer, cakes, deejay, etc...? Can anyone confirm this awful policy or has there been a communication disconnect at both the RIU's here in Cabo?

Baja Weddings Coordination fee = expensive
Bradley Fraser replied to Minx1969's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Quote: Originally Posted by Helland Photographs ... I't a tough spot to be in. First things... Baja weddings does a fantastic job! Coordinators in Cabo are getting expensive because of all the brides coming there; Cabo is a HOT SPOT for weddings!! Can you say "supply and demand"?? The days of a "cheap" Mexican wedding are coming to an end! I live here and I would disagree. Yes, Cabo is becoming very popular for destination weddings. Yes, there are some excellent wedding planners. But because so many couples have chosen Cabo there are many more talented individuals and small companies that are now in the business of making weddings a seamless celebration. These people live here and are generally very well connected. Many of them come from the hotel business and understand customer service. I won't tell you that Cabo is cheap but I will suggest that there are deals to be had everywhere. If you let your WC know that you are price sensitive they will tailor your wedding accordingly. And if you just want to close your eyes and have the WC plan the most incredible, over-the-top wedding, that too can happen for a price. Hope this helps. -
Sunset Time for Cabo San Lucas
Bradley Fraser replied to NABUMBAH's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I don't know where the sunsets at 5:40 p.m. on March 3rd.2008 but it set here in Cabo yesterday (March 3rd) @ 6:20 p.m. I will see if I can attach a sunrise/sunset chart I have made for the planning brides. The chart is for 2008. Here is a link that will generate a sunrise/sunset time for any date. -
Esperanza is a good choice for weddings. I have photographed weddings at Esperanza and from a photographers perspective (ultimately what your photos reveal) it is the cats meow. The hotel is set onto cliffs, the surf sounds great, private beaches, the staff are super, the food...oh the food! Kenia the wedding planner is very good. All the weddings I have done there were very well organized.

Villa in Cabo del Sol
Bradley Fraser replied to addisonreed1113's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
From a photographers perspective all of Cabo del Sol is a dream. So many colorful architectural details, lush landscaping and one of the best beaches in Cabo. They also have a 'private' area between the pools, near the beach, with a palapa for wedding ceremonies. Anyone planning a wedding should always (if possible) try to do everything in one location. Tara Null is all class. She works hard and has great people working with her. Tara gets it done! -

Bradley Fraser replied to JUANCARLOST's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Beautiful work Juan. I really enjoyed the slide show. I thought some of your best shots were in San Jose Centro, a place where you get the light it gives. You made it look magical. -
As some of you know I live here in Los Cabos. Hands down I would recommend Pisces Sport Fishing. They practice catch and release (if requested) and they are a first class operation. Good boats and Captains. Remember to catch and keep only what you need or will eat. Ask for Nancy when you phone. Here is the link. Pisces Sport Fishing

Of the three you mention I would pick the Hilton for service and beach/cove for your ceremony. The Sheraton also has a great beach with cool rock formations AND interesting/colorful architechture. Since you are a group of 15 you might want to try the intimate Cabo Surf Hotel setting.
