  1. Hi Girls! What does everyone think of a wedding in early Nov in the Mayan Riviera area? Is the weather bad? Anyone honeymooned during that time? I am hearing so many mixed reviews as I orginally wanted Feb 2008 but the prices are kinda high as it is peak. So what about late Oct into Nov? I found a few threads on this subject but none have really answered my question. Hope to hear from everyone soon!
  2. Hi Girls! I am thinking $3000 for 10 people not including our airfare and hotel stay but I now I know that $3000 is just silly...forget it. My future in laws are now steering me towards Bermuda....anyone know anything? It seems their marriage laws are kinda strict.
  3. Hi! I am also a newbie. I am thinking about a FEb 2008 wedding in mexico but Bermuda sounds amazing! Where are you getting married?
  4. I googled it and found that Amazon sells this kind for like $4.25: Mexican Chocolate Abuelita by Nestle 18.8 oz which seems to be authentic even though Nestle makes it:) but it is in tablet form as oppose to our powders. Kinda Neat. I am going to order some and try it and let you girls know. Apparently Mexican hot chocolate is like spiced hot chocolate. My friend was like wait till you get to Mexico and you could buy any kind of authentic mexican hot chocolate mix at any of the bodegas for cheap but I am curious to see what the taste is.
  5. Hi Fellow Destination Brides to Be! I am a relatively new to this site (newbie) and is interested in having my wedding in Mexico..not sure where yet. Anyway, a friend suggested that for a destination in weddings, the favors could be authentic mexican hot chocalate mixes (never had any but apparently delicous). I thought that was a great idea and wanted to pass it along to you girls:)
  6. Hi! Thanks for the info! I posted my story on the newbie thread but to make a long story short, my in laws are giving my fi and I grief about having a destination wedding. Eventhough we orginally want somewhere in Hawaii and now decided on Mexico cause it more afforable and shorter flight time for everyone...we have been told Mexico is going to be too expensive for 2 of my future brother in laws and their family. Fi and I have already ruled every other option in the USA except Hawaii and think Mexico is it. I do not want to have a wedding and then a reception at home because it is not cost effective for us...after all it our day not theirs! Sorry to vent. Anyway, I fell in love with Las Caletas due to the price...could I actually have a wedding for 10 people for the price that they quoted? Like under $1000? The most I want to spend is $3000 for 10 people. AM I CRAZY?
  7. Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for the welcome! I orginally found Las Caletas and fell in love with it especially the price! FI and I are thinking April 2008 eventhough we LOVE the Hawaiian islands (we have been 4X) but due to the financial situations of some family members along with distance (we live in Boston), and we do not want a destination wedding in the states, we choose Mexico. I want a max of 10 people but know my future mother in law is VERY concerned about the costs for guests which upsets me a bit. They all want to be part of our day but are now giving us limitations. I am not crazy about have a reception at home because I want to cut costs which way I am looking for the most economical destination wedding for everyone involved. Am I getting stressed out over nothing? Can you girls tell me if it is possible to have a wedding in Mexico for 10 people for $3000? Am I CRAZY?
  8. Hi Everyone! I am a newbie that wants to get married in april 2008. Las Caletas is on top of my list although I have never been to Puerto Vallerta only Mayan Riviera. My hair stylist told me her client got married there and everyone got sick on the catamaran ride over The wedding pics belonging to Marisa looked beautiful that I cannot even think about having a wedding at a resort! I have looked at some sites on the Mayan Riviera but nothing looked as special as Las Caletas. Both wedding parties are from the Boston area so Mexico seem close and affordable eventhough we LOVE Maui. Can you girls steer me in the right direction? Thanks so much! Denise
  9. Hi Everyone! I am a newbie as well! My name is Denise. I am looking at April 2008 as my wedding date in Mexico. I too am confused about where... -Denise Ps. I love this site!_
