  1. Don't worry about the rain!! The girls are right, rain or not-you will have an amazing wedding! I think I am one of the very few girls on this forum that experienced rain on my wedding day. It started to rain 20 minutes before my ceremony so we moved to a private foyer area inside and had a beautiful intimate ceremony. We took some pics with the umbrella which was fun:) It rained for bit and then cleared up. Here is a link to my slideshow: Denise and Mark Good luck!
  2. Hey! Let me try to attach my invite for you to see but here is the layout and wording denise + mark invite you to a reception celebrating their marriage sunday, the twenty-fourth of june two thousand seven promptly at twelve o’clock in the afternoon atlantica 44 border street cohasset, massachusetts or you could say: Together with their families Denise + Mark blah blah
  3. Hi Brigette, You are definately in good hands with Elizabeth! I would just email her what types of shots you want. The only thing I cared about was getting shots of Mark & I getting ready and TTD eventhough timing was not in my favor in regards to pics of me getting ready. EM definately know her stuff so YOU do not have to worry at all!! Her turnaround is pretty fast too cause i got my slideshow about 3/4 weeks after the wedding:) Are you doing a TTD? Where are you getting married again?
  4. Hi Brigette, Elizabeth was awesome! Mark and I are so camera shy that she made us feel so relaxed as though she wasn't even there. I HIGHLY recommend EM! I am an email queen and would email her almost everyday for like 3 months prior to my wedding date and she would always reply back within minutes or later that same day. Elizabeth shot my wedding and ttd which ended up being my fave set of pics. I am so glad I booked the TTD cause it rained on my wedding date so no beach pics but the ttd day was beautiful and sunny! I would recommend you book EM a night stay at your hotel that way she can be comfortable and relaxed to shoot your wedding:) Here is a link to the wedding slideshow (turn on your volume on the computer) Denise and Mark Let me know if you have any other questions! Best, Denise
  5. What a great idea! I was Italy fro 2 weeks in Oct 2006 and we fell in love with the Almalfi Coast. The coastline was absolutely breathtaking! We rented a motor scooter and went to Sorrento, Almalfi, and Positano. There are cute little bbs that hang off the cliffs which would be amazing for a wedding site. We also went to this little island across from Capri called Ischia which is known for their thermal spring pools. We stayed in this old castle monastary that was overlooked the water and island. Pm and i can send you some pics.
  6. Sorry-click on the link for my slideshow and you will see my hubby actually went swimming....
  7. Hi! I did a ttd with Elizabeth Medina and it was so fun! Highly recommend doing it:) The photos from that session were my fave! Denise and Mark Anyway, it only took 2 hours and I actually bought a linen ttd dress cause my wedding dress was silk and silk and water do not go well together. The ERC beach was seaweedy so after I got out of the water some pieces were hanging on me. I did not notice an odor especially since the ttd dress session took place the day before we left Mexico so it was still wet when I rolled it up in a ball and shoved it in my suitcase. So 24 hours was not enough time for my dress to dry but it was not a big deal. I took my dress to the dry cleaners and got it back as perfect as possible. What type of fabric is your wedding dress? Best, Denise
  8. Hey Erika, Mark and I had our AHR on Sunday and wanted to show our slideshow and of course we do not own a mac which is what photographers use nowadays so the night before we spent 3/4 hours putting together a powerpoint presentation with about 100 slides. If you have a friend that owns a mac, ask them if you could borrow it cause it is soooo easy on a mac! Mark and I could not cue our song to end with the slideshow and did not have nice fade out transitions but on a mac-it is amazing! Did Juan send you images in a jpeg?
  9. Tammy, how cute that Steve trims bonsai trees! Mark is a nerd when he has time...he LOVES scrabble. He has a mini scrabble game that he keeps in the car so when he is at a redlight, Mark pulls it out plays for like a minute.
  10. Mark is a police sergeant in Boston and works most weekends and holidays with a rotating swing shift-meaning this week he will be off tue and wed so next week he will have mon and tue off. It is hard to hang out with friends much less each other but we are used to it now:) He had been working super crazy hours so we could afford to go to Tahiti for our honeymoon at the end of this year-
  11. Ok,my AHR was Sunday so I am now officially done with all the wedding stuff! Here is my ERC review: ERC: The grounds, rooms, food, and service were all EXCELLENT! From the moment, Mark and I stepped foot onto the resort and were greeted with a glass of champagne and cold towel-we could tell this was only the beginning:) We arrived at around noon and checkin is not until 3:30 pm so be prepared to wait. Not a big deal, get some lunch or keep your swimsuits in your carryon bags and go to the pool (concerige gives your a beeper that alerts you when your room is ready) and relax! The food was soo good-my fave restaurants was CHEZ IZABELLE (french) and AGAVE (mexican). Try to go to the french place as soon as you arrive that why if you can't get in then you could try to get in later inthe week:) THIS restaurant is THE restaurant to go to at ERC! All rooms have similar layout (not sure about the ERC Club side) but try to get a room in building 6 (or swimout-more on that later)-it is alot closer to everything! The Excellence Club side was not that great-it had a view of a side street with ugly buildings and a barbed wire fence. I say save your $ and just book one the standard ERC buildings. My inlaws were in that building and I think the hotel thought they were the bride and groom. Mark and I were in building 4 which had a partial ocean view on the top floor which was fine cause after all the eating I did, I needed the excercise. One of our guest booked a swimout and I would highly recommend this! A swimout has a jacuzzi inside the room and outside as well as pool chairs so there is no walking around looking for empty chairs or worrying if you leave to get something you chair will be taken. The pool wrapped around the resort and was like a lazy river. All day long, I would see women laying on rafts being pushed by their men! The beach was ok-there is definately seaweed which is something ERC tries to control by having a tractor rake it up every morning. I would go in the ocean and come out with seaweed hanging on me so needless to day I used the pool the entire time we were there! The staff is very quick to serve all your needs so please bring lots of tip $$$. ERC lost power one night (3 other neighbor resorts lost power as well) and it was kind of wierd that there was no backup generator. Mark and I sat on our balcony and watched the lights flicker on and off throughout the resort thinking what if this happens on our wedding night...it didn't:) Wedding: The WC at ERC is very good about communicating via emails throughout my planning process! However, my bouquet was confirmed prior to my arrival at ERC but the day before my wedding, I got a call saying the peonies could not be shipped in time. I kinda had a nervous breakdown cause everything she suggested or showed my was not what I had envisioned. So after agonizing over it for like 15 minutes, I told her just try to get something that has light pinks and white and the final result was beautful! I think the flowers were lisathanius (?). My wedding was planned for outside under the ERC's huge chuppah but it rained like 20/30 minutes before my ceremony so everything that was outside got wet and there was a mad dash to decorate the inside foyer area which turned out to be beautiful and intimate. The foyer is very private and overlooks the ocean:) The wedding dinner food was so good especially the cake! Everyone was stuffed by the time the main course arrived due to the hor douerves, salad, soup and sorbet. I got the vanilla cake, I have never had such a YUMMY plain vanilla cake-it was as if they soaked the cake in vanilla and milk cause it was so moist and flavorful. Spa: I did not have a great experience at the spa. First off all, it looks amazing like the Taj Mahal but technican need more training in regards to their services. Mark & I booked the Execellene couples massage which comes with the marine therapy (pool circuit that has h20 shoot out to massage various body parts). Due to time constraints, we were told our massages would follow with the marine therapy. Do the the marine therapy prior to your massage!!! This preps you for your massage which will be more benficial to your relaxing process. Our massages were ok-I had a guy whom was very gentle. I do not like hard massages but he was too gentle. Mark had a woman and she was not great but fine. So that was ok part of the spa here is the not so good: My wedding package comes with hair and makeup so I was told that I needed to be inthe spa at 1:30 pm for that as well as a manicure. My wedding was at 6pm so I was kinda shocked about the timing but figure they want some cushion time..now I know why. The manicure was so so-bring your own nail polish unless you want green or orange polish. They have a very limited selection of OPI colors but not suitable for weddings. Next came my hair, I wanted it half up with loose waves-the girl (manicurist is your stylist and makeup artist) proceeded to give me Shirley Temple tendrils so I put an end to that. At that point things were not going and makeup was next...urgh. She asked if I wanted a natural look which i said yes to as she applied my foundation which btw did not seem to match my skintone. She then applied my eye makeup which did not seem right especially since she was using silver and white...so when I was able to sneak a peek in the mirror-I gasped in horror! My mother in law was in the next chair having her hair done and she said I looked like a giesha doll with my white eyemakeup! I told the girl (very nicely) to please take all the makeup off and I will do it myself. So inclusion, I did my own hair and makeup and I would highly recommend any future brides have a friend do your hair and makeup or hire someone else! After my ordeal at the spa, I was tired so did not put alot of effort into my own hair and makeup. My nerves were also kicking in BIG TIME! Photography: I booked Elizabeth Medina and she IS AMAZING Elizabeth is VERY good about email communications cause I am an email queen! I booked EM one night at ERC so she was kind to split up my wedding package-4 hours on wedding day and 2 hours for trash the dress. I gotta say that beach wedding brides should do a trash the dress cause since it rained on my wedding day and I have always wanted a beach wedding but was able to have beach photos due to my trash the dress. It is kind of like a backup plan:) Elizabeth is so laidback and talented cause Mark and I are not into being photographed and thank the heavens that we booked her after seeing our slideshow:smile03 Hmmm...what else? I will post again if I think of anything else:) ~Denise
  12. Tammy, you look sooooo beauuuuutiful! I can't wait to see Juan's pics!
  13. Thanks so much everyone!! Elizabeth definately deserves the credit! I am very akward in front of the camera but Elizabeth worked her magic! Elizabeth, you are so funny! I sent Leigh some stuff cuz she totally went beyond trying to find a photographer for me...this was before I knew you were avail:) I felt as though I needed to pay her for her scouting fees-haha. In the end, I got to work with an GREAT photograph er like you! Besides, by the time you recieved products via mexican mail-the products would probably expire! Dragonfly-I bought the flower on ebay for like 12.95-super cheap! The seller's name is ellasalley. Shipping was fast! Ok, I guess I should post my long ERC review now. ~Denise
  14. OMG!!!! I got goosebumps watching it! BEAUTIFUL! LOVED IT!
  15. Thanks Everyone! You all are soo sweet! Adamsgrrl, I do not know what the flowers are cuz I was suppose have peonies but they did not arrive in time so the florist did something else and I loved it:) I think these flowers are not very expensive but if you want i could email you a pic to send to your florist.
  16. Thanks girls!!! I am going to show the slideshow @ my AHR so hopefully I will have get the same reactions. It was partly cloudy on my wedding day and just as 5:15 pm rolled around the rain started coming down. The WC had decorated everything outside so everything got wet so there was a mad dash to decorate the inside foyer area. Of course, I had wanted a beach wedding but in the end it felt so wonderfully intimate inside. Since I had a trash the dress planned the next day, I made sure Elizabeth took photos of the planned wedding site so I could have photos on the beach. Yes, I bought 2 dresses:) one for wedding and linen for ttd. I found my flower pin on ebay for dirt cheap!
