  1. That was a darn good introduction Anne! Welcome to the forum!!! The nicest part about a destination wedding is being able to bring all of your family and friends together in a mutual place and just enjoy each others company! Good luck finding the perfect location and best of luck planning!
  2. I think finding a photographer who is familiar shooting at Sandals will be tough. because of the rules on outside vendors I don't think a lot of brides have tried it. i know it has been done though. However, finding a photographer with good destination wedding experience and who works out travel deals should not be a problem. This forum will be a great resource for you!
  3. Hi! It has been done. it was posted on here a few months ago. Sadly, I have NO idea where the thread is. If i recall, the bride had the photographer as a guest at their wedding (paid for a three night stay). Then the bride discussed with the wedding coordinator how the photographer was simply a friend that wanted to also take pictures. I believe they still had to allow the Sandals photographer to do their thing, but the "guest" photographer was still able to capture everything perfectly. I would talk to the wedding coordinators and see if you could go that route.

The shower was AWESOME. it actually was a two person shower with two floating concrete benches, so I was standing on one of those looking down at the gorgeous Rachel!
  5. Did you have RSVP's? Did you lightly number them with pencil? Hmmm... at least it's only 1 of 17!
  6. These are SOOO beautiful! And have i mentioned that i LOVE your dress and your shoes!!!!! Gorgeous!
  7. Those are really cute and it's very personal. I really think your bridesmaid will love it!
  8. Rachel you were so much fun to work with, and we were ALL really excited about some of the props that you brought with!!! I hope your FI loves the photos! You'll have to let us know what he thinks!! Thanks again for doing the marathon with us!
  9. Congratulations on your decision to have a wedding in Vegas! that's awesome! A friend of mine got married in Vegas and about 50-75 people went. It was SO much fun! Her wedding was at the Little Church of the West I think? It was a little chapel located just down the strip from Mandalay Bay. It was so cute... however only sat about 20 people, so the rest of us had to wait outside. Her reception was then held at the Fitzgerald. It was really good and obviously seated us all!
  10. LOL! Well, at least you know that you want a destination wedding! Well, and your name! Those are both two very important things!! Good luck with all of the planning and hopefully you'll hear back from ROR soon!
  11. Welcome Tracey and congratulations on your engagement! Being on Christmas Eve it must have been really special! I hope you find all the information you are looking for from this website!

    Greetings!

Welcome to the forum! i got married just south of Akumal at the Gran Bahia. I loved it! So if you need any help or advice please don't hesitate to ask! Happy planning!
  13. I didn't really even think about the white/ivory chairs. Honestly, I had a ivory dress with gold detail... so it was REALLY not white. But my husband wore a white shirt, and our chairs were all white. To tell you the truth, you can't tell in photos. The sun is so bright and with all the natural colors around you (the sand and the water) it just blends very nicely together. So, I agree with the rest of the ladies, just stick with the white and then add your ribbons to them. It will look beautiful! Oh yeah, I had brown bridesmaid dresses too. I just gave them really bright flowers and it worked perfectly!
  14. Prices really range from one photographer to a next. You could go from $350 for a 2 hour photographer to $10,000+ for an all day photographer. It really depends on your budget. What I would suggest is deciding what budget YOU feel comfortable spending on photography. Then find a photographer that fits your style, budget, and needs for your day. As for lists of photographers, definitely listen to Tammy about the search feature. You'll find all kinds of them in the Cancun area. But also remember that you can often times fly down your own photographer for three days of coverage for the same amount, if not cheaper, than a lot of local Mexican photographers. Happy searching! as far as comparisons... I flew down my photographer for four nights. I paid just under $2500. However, there are many photographers who will shoot destination weddings for the cost of travel alone! So just don't be afraid to contact a bunch of them!
  15. Mine was much more simple... but it did the same thing. I printed them with VistaPrint's 25 free and then free uploads. Very cheap! Arrival Letter.pdf
  16. I think the second one looks perfect on you. It hugs you in all the right places and is very flattering. The first one is beautiful, but it reminds me a little of a high school prom dress. I just don't think it's quite elegant enough.
  17. Yup! I did mine at the public beach just down the road from the ruins in Tulum. It was AMAZING! LOVED it! And since we got there early in the morning there was nobody on the beach. it was perfect, when i photography a riviera maya wedding that's where i plan on suggesting my couple does their TTD.
  18. welcome to the forum!! There is a few threads on here about the Keys, so hopefully that will help you narrow down your search for the perfect wedding location! Best of luck!
  19. That was my inspiration picture for my hair too! I love that look! Anyways, my hair was about four or five inches past my shoulders. It worked out quite well. However, I have very thin straight hair, so I lost a lot of length from curling it, and I needed to have extra length for volume in the back. If your hair is just slightly longer than your shoulders and it's already a little wavy, I think that would work perfect!
  20. First of all, I think your choice for brown bridesmaid dresses with ivory and yellow accents will be very lovely. Next, have you verified that you can get sunflowers in mexico? I honestly don't know, but that doesn't seem like a tropical flower to me! Finally, the set up is really beautiful! I actually like the gold ties, but if they have brown that'd be really pretty too. Or even brown with a little yellow flower where the bow ties? And then what about having the three big arrangements in the photo be sunflower arrangements? Maybe with ivory roses? That would be pretty.
  21. Good luck Shea! Enjoy your last couple days with just the two of you!
  22. These are really great! I cannot wait to see the rest! You looked like such a beautiful bride!!

From what I can see, only Akumal is on there. So you'd just have to point out the grassy area behind Akumal. I am looking for any pictures of bouquets people had made that they did not charge a lot for. Whoo Hooo we leave 3 weeks today :-) I got my bouquet which was not in the brochure. It was free becauase I used flowers which were in the brochure. This is the best picture that I have at work. I hope it helps. It's white & pink lillies and then bright pink & light pink roses. Hand wrapped in ribbon I brought. My bridesmaid bouquets were really simple, just 12 roses and some green hydrangea. Those were $30 each if I recall correctly.
  24. Hi ladies, While all three of us are very excited for the opportunity to meet and take wonderful pictures of more Best Destination Wedding Forum ladies, we are sad to report that we will not be offering this as a three-some again due to scheduling conflicts. We would, however, be more than happy to individually give you quotes or group discounts if you are interested in that. You can PM or e-mail any of the three of us (Maura, TammyB, or Tlseege) for more information. Again, we're really sorry that there will not be an option for all three of us to do this together, however hopefully at least one of us will be able to provide the packages and photos that you are looking for! We look forward to speaking with you, Trisha, Tammy & Maura
